do you think if i was to get the pvhes shorty turbo it might help with this problem? is there a way to make the hole in the stock stem a little bigger? i have minimum tools at home & i was thinking what if i take a screw & screw it into the hole of the stock stem in an attempt to make the hole wider, is that going to work or will it just break the stem?

you might try not drawing so hard. the solo is designed for a restricted draw and slow sipping. glass stems break pretty easily

yea i have seen the shorty close up. i tried slow sipping it but then i don't get as much vapor clouds, seems like as if i am not getting nothing.

on another note my power adapter just came in the mail & just when i was opening the box the time hits 4:20  bout to toke to that & try out my new adapter & see how it works out. i was soo close to ordering the shorty stem the other day loaded it up to my cart put in my payment options but then just before submitting my order, i thought will this really help me with my dry mouth? at the moment i am still debating if i should just get a shorty turbo or get bubbler so i can water vape. but no matter what water pipe i touch with shipping & other attachments i can't seem to get it lower than $70-80! ahh another expense just to enjoy some vape SMH!

I think it could be...try to lift the stem just few mm off the SS bowl and you'll notice a lot more airflow coming through ... but careful on you finger when lifting the stem, it gets quite hot down near the bowl...

that was an excellent tip! lifting the stem up slightly definitely made the draws more easier, fuller & enjoyable. thanks m0sh! any more cool tips on the solo? lol

Above the picture you see "second image" - click on that to see the front of the unit.

That's a long crack I see in the face? IIRC there's a rib that runs up the front that holds the LEDs and the board and battery (heaviest part) is right behind. Looks like it fell face down somehow (like onto carpet?). Does your Solo drink a lot? Get into many bar fights?

In any event a crack won't keep it from working but will not get better over time. If it's a crack they might disqualify it for warranty due to abuse?

Good luck with it.

GUYS!!!!!!! I have done SOooooOooOOoo much research, and I am not the dullest shed in the tool......

I really want to order tonight and am probably just going to grab a Solo and water attachment I think....

I am drawn to the PAX because of a lllll the great reviews about it and the 10 year warranty of course.

I want solid, quality units. I don't want to waste money on something. Had mflb years ago, no clue where its at, but thats beyond the point.

I just want to get vaping out of a quality unit.

If you are a FLAVOR SNOB GET A solo

as opposed to what....? I am new but, what would be the opposite or _____ it factor on another unit that would be better ? Or are you saying the unit does only offer good taste and doesn't provide as something good overall?

Great you've done some research

There are bad reviews about every vape, but most people rave about the Solo. It's very low maintenance (you can clean the stem every 2 months) and it's quality built. Can't say the same thing about cleaning for the Pax, you have to clean it every few sessions to make it run like it did when you opened it. Not saying the Pax isn't quality built, but there's mouthpiece problems with it and sensor problems as well. The Solo has been out so long that it's worked out most kinks. I'd say the Solo is more water pipe friendly, and the fact that it's mostly convection makes it taste a lot better than the Pax.

Edit:

First off, off topic but don't double post. Edit and merge instead.

The Solo offers more than good taste. It offers hits comparable to some desktops, it offers a good battery life, and it offers durability. There are very minor things I gripe about it, like having to set it on its side to charge.

Hey man, don't take this the wrong way but it seems you need to do more research or at least do it in other places.
The PAX is not the newest thing nor the best unless you prize stealth above all else, the HA and EQ are great units as well but there are a lot more units out there to consider since they have been around.
I suggest you check log vapes and the LSV, for portables check the Inhalater XP and the FlashVape or the DaVinci if you want more stealth than those can give you, and for gnarly purchases check Cloud and miniVAP.

:2c: :peace:

Not taken wrong at all buddy, and I have checked all those, as much as my eyes can handle  the EQ is good, but not quality bad or whip, more a good variety unit. The inhalater XP looks awesome, but reading has convinced me that people enjoy the solo better.I want QUALITY UNITS....I got a mflb a few years ago and have no clue where it's at. I have read the solo is reliable, and that I could probably hit it at the Golf Course...but some say it might be too big for that..... so thats why I looked at the Pax, combined with its looks and warranty seemed awesome. But I really want a solid connection to water, and I am not sure If the rubber or silicon converters are good/bad for you? and the glass on glass just seems like it would perform better. Then I hear people say the solo bowl is really small......Then I got introduced to the VB2.0DLX and this all during while I have been reading and searching about any and all vapes out right now, .......... just ready to get vaping before my huge jar of blue dream is all gone.... :/ :ugh: i have about 400-500 to play with as of right now...

Silicone has a heat resistant property, your vape won't get hot enough to do anything to it (heat resistant to 250˚C, the Solo on the INSIDE gets up to 210˚C maybe a little hotter at the element since it's convection).

And I've been able to pack .2 at most, and that's a lot for a vape. :D

pax is more portable definitely & discreet. but your going to use more material as the ''oven'' as pax calls it is much larger than the solo. of course & pax cannot compare to the solo's taste because its plastic not glass. now for the 10 year warranty part, depends on what you use your pax for, you might not even feel comfortable to send your used unit back in the mail so that's something to definitely consider.

The size/weight of the solo isn't really an issue unless you're carrying it in a pocket. You should have no problem fitting it in a golf bag. As for the bowl size, I found it's plenty large enough for personal use or with a few friends. It's also very easy to load/unload; if you fear the bowl isn't big enough, just bring some pre-ground weed along in a small container.

Thanks ataxian, but my doubt still stands. :)

From the picture i can't be sure if the air path is isolated from the element but i'm guessing those circles are the intake holes and the air goes inside the glass tube where the metal part is inserted.
The flavour should be better than the Solo for the first hits, and the bowl seems to be like 3-4 times the volume, but that glass adapter (bender), on top of the metal tube, give me the idea that it will eventually get HOT, and conduction will cook the herbs next to the glass, so it won't last as long as the Solo.

Won't it give better taste if used upside down, provided the herbs are unable to go to the bubbler?
STIR!
The BENDER is for fun not a Driver.
The SOLO is a Driver.
They both have good flavor.
The bowl is large for the BENDER however if you fill it with a gram of TOP SHELF.

It will reduce the pain in a very natural way.
The bowl is larger so don't forget to stir!

I don't golf anymore but I do have an extra spot in my tackle box for it because it always goes fishing with me. Stealth isn't a problem in a situation like fishing or golfing, you are far enough away from most people and aren't blatantly hitting a pipe which does draw attention. If you are still concerned about someone seeing, you can put it in a small fast food cup and the stem sticks uplike a straw.

Here is how I would spend your $500 ( always easier to spend someone else's money), solo for 160, infamous 40 bubble pvhes GonG for 25 and a fat $275 bag to put in the solo

sorry mods, just realized I hit reply instead of edit, dint know how to merge

I know how hard it is to make a buck.
So I don't want to hurt someones business because of my opinion.
I had a MFLB first not knowing any better.
First rip was really good!
After that BURNT POPCORN!
When I went to the SOLO that was a game changer.
MY consumption or Waste went down from 0.6 to .25 gram per day.
OK please don't over analyze my statement. (I do a lot of WAX)
The PAX has got some rave reviews I'm sure.
However someone told me the flavor was like that of a MFLB.
This person thinks it's a great device.
He also likes 2 Buck Chuck from TRADER JOE'S and I would rather have a $40 Cabernet.

Don't take any advice that comes from me as my quality compass may be skewed!

Enjoying my Solo. After I traded the silver 1 I knew I wanted a black one in the future. This one is brand new though unlike my other Solo. It looks stealthy and sleek imo. It is a m105 but I really dont notice that much of a difference vaping at 7.. I still get thick clouds and it milks my pieces fine. Think I will be ordering one of those gong adapters.

Also I recently sent out my wooden stem to a member b4 I knew I was getting a solo again.. I mailed it with stamps and it might have been lost in the mail.. or intercepted?? fuckin bummer.

So i have been having problems with the draw resistance from the stock stem & was looking for different ways so i could maybe expand the holes a bit in the stock stem. i was just playing around with it while cleaning it & hit it gently with the silver pick tool & was telling my girlfriend how i wish i had a drill or something so i could make these holes a little bigger & before i knew it, it already had a little piece broken off  . i hit it again & rather easily it broke off with minimum effort. i am sharing this so if anyone else is interested in making their draws a little easier could do the same. just be careful & be very gentle because u don't want to break it off clean, make sure the little edge of the glass is there so you have a edge to put your screen over. i just saved $30 by not getting the turbo & doing a DIY on it. HELLL YEEA BAABY!! now i can invest that on the bubbler instead
