TinyMight / TM 2

Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.
I'm hoping for something more than just a different type of wood. Not that I feel there's much wrong with the TM2, but I'd like to see some positive change that would be exciting to experience. It's funny to say, but the TM2 is so perfect for me that it gets boring sometimes. One of the reasons I added a TB2. Something to platoon with.

Maybe a true TM3? Give me something to shake me tatties.

And sorry if my tangents above (or this one) are not appropriate for this thread. If so, please let me know and I can do a separate thread.

Now is there something of similar quality and build that I should consider in lieu of the Puffco Pivot?

You're good, but if you want suggested alternatives for the pivot or anything that isn't about TM, you should post in ask FC for recommendations? Not a lot of more artisan style options like this for dabs really though

Thank you. I have my TM2 in hand. Initial impressions - wow! This thing is beefy AF. I love how well it's made. I'm going to think about whether and how I carry this out and about. Does it tend to stink? (See below.)

Although I will need to wait a bit to try it out, I'm already thinking how to clean it, make sure the pieces don't break in transit, and worrying about dropping it, etc. I've also taken your advice and have 4 Mollicels in my cart at Illumn (2 P30Bs at $7.49 each and 2 P28As at $5.99 a piece). I will be checking other sources. (EDIT - I found the P28A for only $3.99, but the P30B is out of stock, at IMRBatteries.com.)

Questions:
  1. Where did you get your leather jacket? Is LabetKomp the go to?
  2. What are folks using for travel and to protect the glass stems? I have a tobacco pouch, but it's a bit too large and I'm thinking a smaller hard case may be in order, especially to reduce smell. And do the "smell proof" cases work? (Note - I can't smell, so I can't tell if my gear stinks.) Ryot, Stashlogix Alma, other?
For smellproofing I like to use the delta3d case:

only downside is that if you like to use long stems the volume of the case gets large fast but if you use short stems on the go it is the smallest stealthiest case i've found for the tm2.

All I have wanted for the longest time is zirconia tm2 stems. every metal stem i usae for out and about is not as nice as using a glass stem. it would be great to not have to choose! i'd be in for 2 zirc 55mm stems and 1 of the longer ones right out of the gate

I see a world where the wood or composite body, and the top and bottom plates are interchangable. You order your 3 sections (almost like with a BCG) based on the color, metal and/or wood type you like and virtually assemble your own. Of course, for an extra charge, customized battery covers. :haw:

Maybe even, you get to choose the accessory you want from a list (extra charge for Zirconia stems ;)). Then new versions can focus more on functional changes to the heater, cooling, battery life, etc. When a new wood body comes out, no need to buy a whole new unit. Just buy the wood body and swap out the other.

Maybe some folks, you know who you are, would buy the whole set and have a different TM2 every day.

Does it tend to stink?
Not much after it cools down. I’m a huge native user, I.e. with the stock stems (and hollow cooling units), and use a rubber cap for the top of my stems when I’m out and out and at home with my TMs. I have other vapes, mostly conduction, that smell more. Hope this helps. :peace:

Thank you. I spent some time on smell proof bags and am looking at the Abscent line. Where did you get your rubber cap?

I bought a Smartbag hard shell small case which works well but not smell proof (I bought it to transport either of my TMs).

This is my rubber cap, bought on eBay years ago. Fits perfect and covers much of the short stock stem, which I use quite a lot so I can take my OG TM with me on-the-go (my PH TM2 mostly stays home):

Thanks! I just ordered some other accessories - from Delta 3D Studios. Once again - I acted too quickly...

Sorry for so many posts and questions, and thanks to all for your patience.

I can't taste or smell (long story - not Covid), which impacts lots of things - like enjoyment, whether my device or vapor smells, and whether a bowl is spent. I have already read enough to know that I can inspect for a change in color, but that's one downside to the dosing capsules - it requires a bit more effort to do that.

So about how many good draws do you typically get on a loosely packed dosing capsule before it's spent? Do I need to open the capsule to stir it up, or is flipping it over sufficient? I could continue to hit the TM until nothing comes out, but I suspect that's going too far.

If I put 0.1g in the dosing capsule I get 1 big hit and 1 small hit. No stirring required. However it just depends on how long you inhale for as you could get 3 or 4 smaller hits if you inhale less at once.

Depends on what temp you run, over 5 probably 2 or 3. I don’t run that high except for hash. For herb in caps I run 3 to 4, probably 6 or 7 draws if memory serves. I also run in session mode to get a session or 2 more out of the battery.

More questions and updates below. Many continued thanks for your feedback and patience with my noob posts.
  1. Accessories/care questions:
    • Wax. Does anyone use Renaissance "museum wax" or blade wax? The former appears to have some solvents and/or petroleum, so I'm leaning towards a tub of MKC Blade Wax (it's "food grade" and contains coconut oil, beeswax, carnauba wax, vitamin 3 oil and lemon oil).
    • Stems. My TM2 didn't come with a metal stem (just the 55mm, plus the Missile Stem). Is a metal (or wood) stem worth getting, and if so, which one? I do have the Rocket Stem and Grav Upline Taster on my list to consider (but would go with neither or one over the other based on input). My Delta slim case (below) is the one that fits the 55mm stem, so I did find a Ti stem that length made by HightTitanium Design
  2. Updates (thanks to all who have answered my prior questions!):
    • Delta 3D slim case, stem caps, dosing capsule tray and rimmed basket screens ordered (still processing)
    • F20 smell case, Dynavap fat mouthpiece, a few glass jars and ISO cleaning sticks inbound from Tools420
    • Wow - the TM2 is more of a battery hog than I imagined! I did just 3 puffs and the battery (Molicel P30B) was at 60% in my charger afterwards. Is this normal? I do have 4 more ordered

I'm tired of all these vapes with their need for warranty, just wondering what's the life of a tinymight 2 before warranty? 3 months? 1 year?

Any wax will do, don’t need something special, I use Dynavap, MadHeaters, Futo and Simrell all the same some kinda bees wax.

For stems don’t like the Ti stems(hot) or wood for the TM2, go glass easiest to clean and inert. Lots of beaded or dimpled to choose from or I like a 14mm wpa with a 14mm jointed Rocket stem or j-hook.

I have 2x TM1, TM2 Walnut, TM2 PH, I've never had any problems, othe users had failures more often. You mostly hear the users with errors. The weak points of the TM are always worked through and improved.

Is a metal (or wood) stem worth getting
These are really good, but a bit more expensive and heavy, as they are full metal.

I have experimented with renaissance, hard carnauba, and ended up with regular beeswax / mineral oil. The renaissance didn't seem that hard to me and I was worried about some of the solvents. the carnauba went on well with a buffing wheel but turned the cracks in the wood white, even with a heat gun. I might have scratched my wood a little using a plastic razor blade to get it all off again. at the end of the day I am just using the same wax/oil mix as my cutting board, clark's, and I'm totally happy with it.

if you are mining complaints from this thread also note the usage patterns. I have never had an issue with my phtm after about a year. I see usage stories where the device is the primary device, or people are using it in a way that would take me 10 years to get to that level of usage. For example, the people who complain about the button breaking are often people who complain about it breaking multiple times. So much so that I think TM is updating the button to be easily replaceable. Then you have folks like me and others who use the device almost daily with no issues. Note the folks who need significant cooling solutions, this implies that they are taking a lot of hits back to back, might be roasting multiple bowls per session, etc. While I think the device should be robust enough to handle the edge cases well, I think its also important to know where you actually are on the usage spectrum.

Yep, never needed to use my warranties across the original, my second TM1, or my TM2... The life is indefinite, take good care of your shit, and don't forget to be lucky :lol:
