TinyMight / TM 2

BabyFacedFinster

Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.
Finally got my TM2 back from repair land, and it couldn’t have come sooner. I had them do an overhaul after I accidentally shattered the upper glass sleeve.

What I immediately noticed is that it runs a bit hotter and retains heat longer. From what I’ve read, this is due to the new stainless sleeve. I’m pretty sensitive to heat and have usually kept it set just a hair below 2 to get the flavor and extraction I like. After a few sessions today, I found myself turning it down to a solid 1 on the dial to get great, tasty clouds.

Another observation is that the unit holds heat much longer. In the past, after letting off the button, I would get another wispy hit before needing to press and hold again. Now, after letting off the button, I can take another massive hit immediately with no added heat. I have to say, I like it better this way since I can get great clouds without that extra heat.

Another change is that they upgraded the button to the newer design. It’s not uncomfortable, but it does take a bit more pressure to press and activate. My old button could be pressed by simply palming the whole device and giving it a slight squeeze. Now, you have to place a finger directly on it. It’s not as demanding as my Firewood 9, where my finger gets tired from holding the button, but you do have to pay more attention to it.

All and all, I am happy with the improvements, and so glad to have my faithful DD back in house.

Great to hear! Thanks for the detail too

The new-ish tapered button is indeed much less protruding, and much harder to press.

It also seems to be much more failure-prone than the old, not-tapered button- can't understand why they switched.

The old, non-tapered button that was original to my tinymight2 never was a problem at any time from when i purchased it in February 2023, and still was working fine when i sent it in for a paid repair unrelated to the button in May 2024 (i too shattered the glass lining by dropping it). So the original non-tapered button was going strong after 15 months.

I got it back at the end of May with the new tapered button, which failed, and was replaced under warranty, a few months later in about September of 2024, after working correctly for about three and half months.

The second new tapered button failed in late January 2025, after working correctly for almost four months. I got it back from another warranty repair on January 31.

The button (that's the third replacement in 9 months, for those of you keeping track at home) worked correctly until February 28 (ie, for less than one month), when it again began requiring multiple presses to get the light to hold steady.

A semi-functional TM2 is worth more to me than any vape with plastic parts working 100%, but this has still been a very frustrating experience. i wish that you could still get that old, non-tapered, 15-month (or more) button, instead of these "improved" 1-4 month tapered buttons. Since you can't, and since i know a new button won't last anyway, i am using my semi-functional TM2 until it gets significantly worse, which i figure will be in a month or so. The TM2 is still the best vape i have used, but they need to work on improving reliability. The fourth warranty repair within a year on my device may help them move towards this.

So far I haven't had any problems with the new button, although I almost always use the TM2 with the old button. I have been using the TM2PH with the new button for two days now and I notice that it is harder to press. However, my TM1 is still working perfectly, maybe I've just been lucky so far.
But of there will be a problem, i have a backup for the backup, to be never without a TM/TM2.

I know these look great, but as many stems as I go through, I can’t see paying over $100 for what almost seems like a consumable to me.

The prices vary depending on the stem, he's made cheap clear ones, also think he has a 25% off sale coming up... If you're breaking glass stems left and right, then maybe you shouldn't buy something like this, yep? Not an issue for me, they are not a consumable at all in my mind, but they are a must-have

I really didn’t expect it to be an issue. I’ve had my Lobo a lot longer and haven’t broken one yet. I’m thinking about ordering a titanium one, but heard they are hotter to use. In fact on all my vapes, the two I go through glass on is the XQ2 and the TM2. The dog ate one for the Mighty+, but it wasn’t installed yet.

Certainly depends on the stems too, and the features, rogue wax works has decent ones that are cheaper, but a good GVB one might prove more durable depending on the design etc... I'll suggest he make more all clear available again... Any in particular?

I never tried my titanium, it still needs to be cleaned and polished even perhaps, but I would be happy to send it to you cheaper than whatever other if you want... I don't think I would like it anyway, also not a fan of using wood there, not sure what other options there might really be, although I like stems that keep my TM upside down so using separately with a hook is also appealing although that's more potential parts to worry about, those can be made in other materials as well (titanium bong)

I own a bunch of TM2 stems in various shapes and materials: stainless steel (used once and never again – I just don't like metal stems), wood, glass in both cheap and expensive versions. Some are shorter, some are longer, there are straight ones and bent ones...

However, none of these stems even come close to the smoothness of a GVB U-hook. Yes, they are more expensive, although GVB certainly offers a good price for a U-hook without colored marbles. And in my opinion, the higher price is more than justified by the significantly enhanced experience when using the TM2.

For me, the U-hook has made the TM2 a much better vape than it already is. But of course, your mileage may vary.

I have one of these and like it. The one drawback is needing to lay the device on its side when not in use.

That's actually another positive for it in my mind, always prefer to set the TM on its side

He takes commissions. Can't hurt to get a quote. I've had a few clear pieces done.

Greetings everyone, I saw recently somewhere the Labetkomp covers that just came out....someone is selling them. Did anyone see these advertised today or yesterday?

Is it bad to take off the battery lid to change the battery without turning off the unit first? I do this sometimes when changing batteries and all it seems to do is shut off the unit without any problems.

I don’t see any problems with doing that.

I’ve never removed a battery from either of my TMs while they’re on. I always turn them off or the battery is out of juice (usually the latter). Not sure what, if any, consequence there is removing a battery while the unit is on. Perhaps none but I err on the side of caution.

So, I’m moving soon. Most of my vape stuff is packed including my 3rd party stems for my TMs. I’ve been using the short stock stems in both my OG TM and PH TM2 since my hiatus ended a week ago. Honestly, it’s not too bad - better this than nothing at all. Oh, the sacrifice. After I’ve moved the stems will come out again but for now it’s back to basics. :peace:

Looking for a little help from someone who has done a recalibration of the TM2.

I am a low temp user and have always set my TM2 to just below 2 and left it there. After having the inner glass sleeve replaced with the metal sleeve, my unit runs hotter. I now have to set it halfway between 0 and 1. Tinymight is recommending that I set it 2 steps lower to make it easier to use and increase my usable range.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but I want to double check: After setting it to the 6 default, I would turn it down to 4, then hold the button for 5 seconds?
Also,
If my old setting was 0.5, then my new setting would be 2.5 and I can vape even lower temps, all the way down to zero? :peace:

That is exactly how it is supposed to work.

If you are in the setting, the device will vibrate continuously, you have your point, hold the button, the device will give feedback by vibrating when accepting the setting. Do not forget to turn it off.
