Just a heads up, the glass window can break. Mines breaking on one side near where it touches the spring. Have emailed Marc to see what's what (user error, defect, etc), but thought I should give a heads up anyway cos it's not in the manual. I figured that particular part was pretty fine compared to the exposed stem...

I'm so glad I managed to buy the FW9 a few months ago.
it's my first FW.
I didn't have the 1-8 model, but I think I hit it at the right time.
I love how it smells when I smell it... name me another electro vape that smells on its own and doesn't smell plastic or a dashboard.
I love turning on an unregulated mod, it can be really hot.
I love the design, at first I thought the FATX was great based on the photos, but over time it seems dull and uninteresting compared to the FW9.
I don't know how the name FIREWOOD came about and what it refers to, but it seems to me that it's supposed to be visually extraordinary, elusive and on the contrary modest and at first glance DIY.
I think that's lost in the FATX.
BUT THAT'S JUST MY OPINION.
there was talk about the button, unlike the tm2, which ran out of power in my pocket when I didn't turn it off, this doesn't happen to me with the fw9.
the only thing is that I had to slightly grind the edges of the button, I felt like they were getting caught on the skin on my thumb and I was afraid that it would come off when I moved it to the side.
I've been trying to spin a few vapes lately and somehow I always end up here with the FW9 and I'm excited.
it's interesting, alternating different grown models, different vaporizers, temperatures, convection and conduction...... I feel like I'm helping to maintain greater sensitivity to cannabis with all this and at the same time it still surprises me in some way.
so I guess I'm waiting for FATXI.

I really hope that a plain panel without a window becomes an offering in the future. When I buy a non-China vape with replaceable batteries, longevity is the biggest expectation. Nothing about glass fitted into that part screams longevity to me. Not knocking the idea, it's just not for me.

Are we, um, still talking about vaping here? 😜
you're right, it sounded like this.....
I meant more like the speed of heating and one or two short strokes of a small amount. It's a change from the low temperature and more strokes, which I usually prefer.
The darkness of the avb is the same, but I get to it faster and not so slowly.
The difference in effects and the amount needed was discussed on another forum here on fc and it's quite interesting to try for your own experience.
Anyway, always depending on the mood and the occasion.
It's interesting that even when I go to unregulated power, I don't feel particularly hot fumes, maybe I don't reach such high temperatures in the end, it's hard to say.
How are you doing?
How long do you heat up on average in unregulated mode? Do you then have a very dark abv? Is there any difference between holding the unregulated mode for a short time and holding the higher regulated temperature for a long time?
Lots of variables....damn

I want to grab one, but after reading the other user experienced a broken window, I’m a bit concerned. Also, I don’t live in the US, so I guess it’s better if I wait for that internal storage part to arrive to avoid paying more shipping when it eventually arrives.

I'm in a similar situation -I bought a FATX and I'm waiting for the missing parts. The package is currently in a warehouse in the USA..

I don't remember anyone's glass breaking..Did I miss something? It was written above that the glass "may break"

Possum warned that the glass may break because theirs is currently breaking by the spring.

Guess I'll wait as well. My FW9 is still in heavy rotation and the only electronic device I take outside.

The exposed stem and the glass window seem to make it more fragile.

Without knowing how yours is breaking (and without creating conjecture), when I read this I was wondering if it may relate to pushing on/near the window spot when sliding the wood piece off, to access the bowl (?) I ask as I was thinking about how I push there to open my, FWIW.

Smart move, I have to send mine back to the states to get fixed.

Yeah, that's my thinking too. Will know more once Marc's got it (which could take a while cos life is stopping me getting to the post office). Am also going to ask about a less fragile option/spares, cos no matter what the cause is this has happened pretty quickly and I don't like being without my current faves if I can help it.

FAT X - Ruby Twist - TM2 - 20M w/ Wand
I got my FAT X today.

My first impression? I like it a lot. I wanted to try it before I mess with presets or whatever.

The heater is impressive. I got great vapor production on preset 1. I just waited for the buzz - a sec or two and went for it - nothing tricky. It’s tasty. I vaped the same strain I did in my other vape this afternoon. But in the fw, they always manage to somehow taste *better*. I missed that so much.

Yep. No regrets on this purchase. This is a nice piece.

I didn’t tamp down too much. Airflow is *very* open. I appreciate that. I like that the stem doesn’t narrow so much, too. I think that helps.

It’s so versatile. I’ve been one and dones with it using it unregulated. The battery life is also efficient. I don’t even use a grinder, I break it up with fingers. I don’t even put much in there either

Would you or anyone else maybe be able to verifyit it can take a dynavap stem as a mouthpiece. Mine supposed to get here next week but for some reason the mouthpiece won't get here for 2 days after, not sure what happened but would really like to use it right away. Also it would just be cool to have available, on hand options.

For what it’s worth on the power button, I’ve carried my FW9 in my pocket on a number of occasions, usually walking the dog, and never had an accidental activation that I know of, so none long enough to get it warm.
I’d done it bunches of times with my 8/9. I’m actually surprised I never saw anyone else post about it. :)

It was an easy fix, really. I stopped putting it in my pants pocket. It was lazy anyway. I was using a portable around my house when I should have been using a desktop.

If I use the FAT X frequently enough where I’ll travel with it, it will go in a bag, not my pocket. For now? It’s staying downstairs as my travel vape

I don’t want another case of “ow. Why is my leg burning!?! And why do I smell wee… ohhhhh!!!!!”
