Arizer Solo II

Does anyone else's battery hang at 99%? And do you guys leave your vape plugged in overnight?
If your gauge says 99% I'd say it's fine and probably actually 100%. No I try to unplug the charger when it reaches full charge, Not good to leave LiOn batteries on a standard charger, the batteries get warm and stay that way until its unplugged and heat degrades batteries.

The classic Arizer Solo II. Simple, frugal, and effective, this was my first real vape after starting with a Yocan Vane.

Jumping into dry herb vaping, fortune was such that I ended up with a few different cookers. It is nice to be able to switch between units, and different flower cooks differently in different units. There are differences in taste, there is a difference in the high, and for me, a different ritual. After being loaned out for a few months, it is a pleasure to be using the Solo II after a hiatus.

When it comes to stretching a few grams, or for microdosing, the Solo can get the most out of the least. It does not take a lot of flower to catch a buzz. There is no question that simple can be good.

The glass tube system is a dream in terms of ease of use and maintenance. The Solo II does not require a lot in terms of consumable parts or time keeping the unit operating. While some vapes require maintenance and cleaning after every use, the glass tubes require little care. As for loading, it couldn't be simpler. With a few preloaded tubes, the Solo II also makes a great unit for portable use.

When it comes to flavour, at lower temps, the taste is good. When it comes to higher temps, taste doesn't matter as much; it all tastes the same. That isn't a criticism, but rather just a reality of high temperature in a conduction vape. In terms of conduction vapes, the Solo II is a good choice for good tasting flower.

Bongs make things better and the Solo II works great with a bong.

The Solo works best with time and patience;
Step one, load the tube;
Step two, take a test draw; don't start cooking until you are sure that the air flows through the tube;
Step three, start the unit and wait at least a minute or two, or three;
Step four, take a draw; with a bong it only takes a hit or two.

If there is one thing lacking on the Solo II, it is the interface. It would nice if it at least 'beeped' when it hits the desired operating temp. Without a stopwatch or timer, everything is a guess. That said, simple is reliable.

Happy to be using the Solo II again............

I just got a Solo II and trying to avoid spending an hour or more going back over this entire thread (though I will, eventually, little by little), I'm wondering if someone can tell me how to set up a cheap solution for running through a cheap water pipe or bong.

I'm on a budget (social security income only) and so would probably buy a cheap acrylic bong or water pipe. My question, then, is what is the cheapest way to connect this vape to a cheap water pipe or bong? (I would love to have a nice glass one but I was blown away by the high prices of glass the other day when I entered the local vape shop. )

I have only ever had 2 vapes. One was the old Myrtlezap which I loved, and the Launch Box which I loved too but bought one last year to replace my old one and the new one doesn't work nearly as well. Contacted them and all they can offer is that I should buy the new improved charging system which seems to expensive to me.

What is the temp you micro-dosers mostly use for vaping?

Any tips or tricks or etc re the Solo II are welcome. As I said I will work my way through this thread from the top but interested in getting a cheap water solution asap.
Thanks!
p.s. Did some looking on the net, found a "SneakyPete pipsqueak water pipe" that looks like it would work with the Solo II for only $28. But wait, no, I think the Solo II is 12 mm not 14mm mouthpiece, right?
I also do have a silicone tubing that fits the Solo II mouthpiece so maybe I can find a water pipe mouthpiece that fits that...?

One more question :
Is the "essential oil glass bowl that comes with the Solo II suitable for vaping wax or other gooey substances?

First off, howdy! Welcome to the Forum. Lots of good folks about. You've made ab excellent choice, you can expect good things.

To your question, the plastic tipped stems for the Air are probably the cheapest/simplest way to adapt to standard 14mm GonG connectors on WTs:

Those clever folks tapered the black plastic part to fit the GonG.

Regards and best wishes to all.

Congratulations on obtaining one of the great all time portable dry herb vaporisers - they are built like trucks and aside from dropped glass stems, they are built to last - I regularly use one of the original 2011 M1A models - 10+ years and a battery change, it's still working fine.

That little solid bowl doesn't get anything like hot enough to use for extracts in my hands - no air flow so little heat transfer from the oven.
I've never found any use for them and I own four of the darn things.
If anyone has found them useful, I'd be interested in hearing about it.

Hi, thanks for the welcome! It's actually a welcome BACK, as I spent some time here about 7 years ago when bought my 1st vaporizers. Then was out of the country until recently...
Anyway, because I'm just getting back into this, I don't know the lingo. Sorry, but what does this mean, LOL: "GonG connector on WTs" ?
Also I added a question to my post you may not have seen: Can the "oil" glass bowl that came with my Solo II be used for wax or similar?
I have some Delta8 legal "hash" I'd like to try and it is very sticky.

Thanks for the reply. So there is no way to use the Solo II for wax and that type of thing?

It's specialised for dry herb but with a bit of effort, you can always mix dry material with concentrates. Easiest way is to layer it in some fresh material (or less potent ABV if you want to isolate the effect of the "hash"). As long as hot air can flow through the load, it will vaporise - not fast like a proper dab rig but better than nothing.

That provides even more reason to fit a grommet under the cap so the stem doesn't fall out when used "hamster style" - you don't want any waxy stuff to fall and melt in the Solo oven - it's hard to clean if it sticks there. Nothing will fall upwards if you turn the Solo upside down :) There's a whole lot of discussion from years ago - try searching this site for "solo hamster style"

So is this Water Pipe Adapter ( https://www.planetofthevapes.com/products/water-pipe-adapter-wpa-for-arizer-solo-air) what I need to connect to this (water pipe)?
( https://www.sneakypetestore.com/products/pipsqueak-10mm-water-piece?variant=39827307233361 ) ?

But by coincidence I just found some silicone tubing I had for my launch box and it fits inside the Solo II stem and wow, even without water, 12" or so of silicone tube made the vapor so light I could hardly notice it!
I still want to run it through water, but I really don't "need" to with this tubing!
I am loving this Solo II.

"Glass on Glass" fittings, the standard way of connecting such things:

The cup like bowl is for aromatic herbs (you should have got a little packet of them?) a somewhat dated bit of cover. Notice no holes in the bottom? Means it's useless for vaping.......

However, you can easily experiment with concentrates with your new Solo, you just need a bit of cotton to absorb it in. "Medical grade" if you want, I use the packing from vitamin bottles. Another of the 'old hands' simply tears apart a q-tip or two. Anyway, roll your concentrate in the cotton and put it in the regular stem. Crank up the heat, give it a minute or two to soak in and toke away?

Best regards to all.
