is it more effective to begin with the temperature dial low like 4 and then increase by 1 for each hit or is it fine if you go just to 7 and take all hits from there?

and is it normal that if you put the dial at around 7 that after some time the stock stem already gets so hot that you can't keep your lips on it?
Whether and how you change the temp as you go is really personal preference. Personally I tend to stay on 6, sometimes finishing a load at 8.

To your question on what gets you higher, in my experience using a high temp from the outset seems to get me higher. I think different cannabinoids vaporize at different temps, so if you start at a higher temp you're getting more of them at once. But frankly, I don't think how they all interact is that well understood. But in my own experience, it seems that higher temps get me higher.

It's one of the nice things about the TM: it accommodates people who want low temps, high temps or a little of both.

That said, when I got home, my Grav Upline Taster was waiting for me, and I've been using that now for the past few days. At first I wanted to go back to the native stem with CU, but if you can get past a little honey inside the stem, the Grav can go so much longer without needing to be cleaned. It cools the same as the native stem IMO, but I draw even and slow and prefer the dial closer to 5, but will go to 7 with this setup without coughing.

EDIT: I read the above posts after submitting this one, and I concur, it's all subjective. But I don't like hot, harsh, or dry.
I went for it and think I found the one here. Love this upline. The taper is perfect, I'm getting massive rips with no CU. Don't think I can ever go back!

Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.
A bunch of folks seem to like the grav upline. There were a few positive comments on the octotaster. Did that fall out of favor because of the glass screen?

There's a video from Jerry and Troy where Troy's unit is buzzing like crazy and his mic is picking it up. I saw it on youtube. I can dig it up for you if you want. It's a pretty long video, but they talk about it. Troy even holds it up to the mic and then you can really hear it. My TM2 makes a very quiet buzzing noise while heating, but most of my electronic vapes make some sort of noise.
Actually, Troy has done that in a few videos. He finds it funny. Sometimes Jerry will put his TM2 up to the mike, but his seems to be quieter than Troy's. Or maybe his mic isn't as sensitive, I know he uses noise canceling.

What I noticed today about my TM2? It is a battery hog. I'm glad I did pick up extra 18650's and a charger. It sure is handy compared to plugging in the whole unit and waiting. My unit tends to remain in the charge 4 to 3 range for a few sessions, but once it hits 2 the wheels come off quick. It's arms start flailing and it starts yelling, "Danger, Will Robinson, Danger."

So, I'm now at 1.5 weeks of ownership with my TM2. I bought 2 extra 18650's before receiving it. I'm actually fairly satisfied with the battery usage vs performance with TM2. A single battery usually lasts me at least 2 days, more often 3 it seems. I actually decided to run the battery that came with the TM2 down to about 3.9v and put it off to the side as a backup later down the road when the other 2 start fading. Most of my sessions are below 7 on the dial for reference and I probably have 3-6 sessions per day. Speaking of which... I missed the 4:20 bell, so I'm off to the garage!

VAS is a bitch.. Realizing I definitely should have bought one of these on Black Friday. Decided to upgrade to the new Flowerpot instead but I want to replace my Mighty with the TM2.

Nice setup. I love my Flower Mill as well! What stand is that?! I must have it!
Nice stand...where did you get it please?

Thank you both!
I made the stand from Purple Heart wood.

If you’re in the US, I’d be happy to make you a tray. I have more Purple Heart waiting to be turned into something neat 🙌

Shoot me a PM

do the basket screens from the TM stem also fit into the grav upline taster stem? or are there any other screens that are better suited?

Can you make our pal @Vaporific a RED TM2 body? :)

Unfortunately, I can’t mill the full 2.6” depth. I’m thinking if I made a new shell, it will be in 3 pieces - top and bottom walnut and the middle strip Purple Heart!

Tinymight OG or Mighty OG?

I've read a lot about both vapes, and I'm incredibly torn between the two lol. I already own a legacy pro, but I got the opportunity for someone to bring me from europe a second vape, and I'd give the legacy pro to my cousin who loves vaping after I introduced to him, but he only have a dynavap.

I'm worried about how fragile the tinymight seems, I can buy stems if they break but I'm more worried about the inside and things that could cause permanent damage. Is it really that fragile tho?

I love the ruggedness of the mighty, and I mostly use the session mode on the ALP (but thats because the on demand mode is not that good, even in max temp it wont fully vape my brick weed here from brazil lol, but session mode even in lower temps will fully vape it) so thats a couple of plus for the mighty. But I'm also very interested in the on demand mode of the tinymight, that also seems to have a good session mode. Can you sip for a longer time (like 3-5 minutes) on session mode if you want?

Both would be the exact same price! Which one would you guys get?

I bought the Upline because it was recommended here, and have since recommended it myself many times. Can't really speak to the Octotaster, but it doesn't have the pinches near the mouthpiece that I assume help with cooling, and I'm so happy with the Upline never felt the need to expand.

My experience with the battery is identical, and I think spare batteries and an external charger are pretty much "must have" accessories to avoid it dying mid-session from time to time. Once I get two buzzes at the start of a session, that is the last session before charging and it's never died on me since.

I use flat stainless screens .625" in diameter and just shape them into rough basket shapes and slide them into the Upline. Smaller than that I had trouble keeping them in -- not enough screen against the glass to keep them from popping out.

Tinymight OG or Mighty OG?
This is the TM thread so you are likely to get a very specific answer. However, these questions are more helpful to everyone the Ask FC section. You might be able to find an existing comparison thread for the TM and the Mighty, or feels free to start your own.

No. I have carried mine hiking, cycling, rock climbing. It has parts that can break inside (including glass), but not more so than most vapes in my collection. And it can be fixed in the case of a catastrophic drop, often by the by yourself. And repair service is cheap from TM directly.

Welcome to FC @gabs021 A you have already heard, this is a TM thread and many of us are biased in favor of the TM.

I can't speak for others, but my mighty has not seen the light of day since I received my TM2. I got my first Tinymight in November of 2019. The vape is fantastic as is the manufacturing and customer service team at Tinymight. I also own a Legacy Pro but that has also seen zero use after I got my Tinymight 2.

I hope this helps. This is a dedicated thread. I would be happy to help in DM if you have more comparison questions.

Good luck!

My well-loved TM 1.5 is still running strong. Tinymight wins the reach test for working around the house and quick vape snaps out and about.
Since the TM is seeing a lot of pocket time, I wanted to utilize a shorter/lower profile stem.
Here’s what I came up with:

I chopped about 1.25” off the Ed’s tnt wooden stem, added a rimmed screen, filled with 2 and 3mm boro beads, another little screen then capped it off with a RWW mouthpiece. Total length is shorter than the regular Ed’s stem by about 1cm.

Fits wonderfully in a pocket without fear of breaking glass stems, and provides ample cooling. Comfortable hits up to 8 without further conditioning required, in my opinion.

I love this vaporizer.
I really struggle to come with ideas on how it could be further improved.
Someday I’m sure I’ll try the tm2 (hopefully a red one) but until then, I’m very content with the 1.5

Yeah , TM 1.5 it’s a rock . Mine works just perfectly from February. Works without any issues like TM1 from March 20.

i noticed that TM 1.5 vs TM1 is more accurate and consistent , abv on it is more even cooked on 8,5 vs 10 .

@danjens you can be in touch with alan@toasty-top.com and he can make you a TM stem in the wood and length of your choice.

I do admire your good taste in using a TRRW acrylic mouthpiece/WPA. I have a few and love them. As far as I am concerned @RogueGuy hit a home run with these WPAs.

I wanted to ask how folks are cleaning the cooling stems that contain glass balls.

I received one that was DOA and it was promptly replaced. do we need to treat these stems extra carefully or is shaking with ISO okay?

I played around with the broken stem using the hole as a carb and it was a different experience. I needed two hands, so that was not fun but I am thinking of ordering a TM stem with a carb when my turn comes around from GVB.

Has anyone modded a stem to have a carb?
