Yeah.. I just got the ring off. My Ed’s stem is too fat. It won’t fit into the slot without everything removed, it doesn’t fit into the screen basket that sits above the heater and without it, there is play and obviously doesn’t sit right. Bummer, I’m going to have to see about a refund for the stem hopefully, it’s totally not compatible with my TM2 :(

Is this a new feature of the TM2 or am I just misunderstanding this description?
There is a new style screen above the heater, and it may look like a basket combined with the metal sleeve above it (there's a pic on page 668). It think the various pieces have been beefed up, but it isn't a really new feature -- i.e., I don't think there is an actual screen basket above the heater.

FWIW: If Edstnt give you money back, or partial, just buy 'Double Sided Nail Files Emery Board'
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015OALT0U
and rub it easily until you think it fits fine. then put some Edstnt's Beeswax, it will look just like new! then you will enjoy the stem at lower price

**clean the stem with pouring water inside after finishing, dry it well
**while you rub it you can use covid mask + sunglasses for caution of tiny wooden particles

Phone posting and I don’t know how to upload images in that Ui, but it might be? There’s a definite basket/tube insert that sits inside the tube, ontop of the screen for the heater and has a fine screen at the bottom. Just extra protection from fine herb from going through it looks.

Right, basket wrong word. It’s a Tube with a fine screen on one end, fits right into the slot ontop of the heater screen.

Thanks for the tips above, I’ll see about filing it. This is a beautiful piece of wood, both the stem and TM2. I’d love them to be paired successfully :) will report back when I get around to it.

Yeah, that! It can be removed and is it’s own little tube, so bucket might be a more appropriate phrase than basket since basket screens have an actual purpose with this device.
More confused than ever, but that is okay. That just looks like a screen, similar to the original TM. It doesn't actually go inside the stem, right?

I'd definitely try to contact him and get it exchanged - it should fit.

This thing is fantastic.. just did my first true hit out of my Orb. Entirely unexpected clouds for being on 4. My mouth tastes like Wedding Cake still.

Also: thanks for the advice above everybody! Makes sense there's slight variance with wood and all, so i'm not surprised :)

From what I've seen, the tube holder and screen+screen holder from OGTM are all one fixed piece now on the TM2 correct?

Does the screen pop out of the new fixed piece for cleaning/replacement or is that fixed inside as well?

I got my TM2 today (but that's another story) I remembered your post and immediately tried it with my stem from Ed's TNT. Mine was a nice snug fit. Check how far you insert your glass stem, since that one seems to work. Compare it to the wooden stem – can you insert it to the same depth? The stem diameter should measure very close to ⅝", and there's enough give on the o-ring to compensate for small differences. If the stem is loose, tightening the ring will compress it and as it bulges outward it will decrease the diameter of the opening, and tighten the hold on the stem. But you probably knew all this!

Haha yeah you are not alone in making that mistake here, that is the safety switch, so it will not power on accidentally even when the button is pressed, for transport etc.
I truly had no idea...I even wrote to Tinymight but, very quickly wrote to them back....that is a great thing to know...well, I could not find that in the directions. If its in there I did not read it properly then. Thanks again.

It's unfortunately beyond snug fit territory, even removing the metal ring and trying to only put the stem through that, it goes to a certain spot on the stem and gets stuck. Slight indentation along the stem from where it hits that point. My stem is a very, very small amount too large to fit through.

You can see a slight indent on the stem from where it's hitting resistance and stopping, taking the metal ring off and just trying to slide it through the stem alone also produces the same result. The Ed's stem ends up turning the metal ring when inserting and trying to twist, whereas the TI / glass stems have a tiny bit sliver of wiggle room.
