Shit Snacks

Milaana. Lana. LANA. LANAAAA! (TM2/TP80/BAK/FW9)
Speaking about doubled questions...
Can you tell me if there are some changes or improvements to the controller, the heater and other "hardware-based" things? And if so, what exactly?

Nothing has been mentioned, it should have the same board as the last TM really performance-wise...

I am owning 2pc TM1 right now, and using them every single day without any need for improvement, so i am not sure if there could be some reasons for me to upgrade to a TM2, except the new look.
I will turn a new battery cap myself soon, the air-flow is enough by far for me, as a microdoser i also don't need that poking-tool, and i can see my LEDs shining in/through the WPA-stem without problems. So what is left?

It's not about seeing the LED, it's about it not bleeding through everywhere, and it now shows the battery level with four different colors... That is all different for the TM2

If the screen really is that much of an improvement i could buy only them and replace mine, right?

No, this was already asked and answered, the new screen system does not fit in the old TM...

The only thing that bothers me is the once or twice a year-cleaning of the contact-surface between top-part and heater-connecting-strip.
Did they change anything to adress that oxidation-tendency of the aluminum there, too?

I've never had to do this with either of my TM over more than 2 years...

Nothing has been mentioned
Except for:
Re : Changes in performance-Electronics has now more control of the temperature control, thanks to higher performing microcontroller. it is about 4 x more accurate and faster to react to temperature changes and control it.
(With the new screen the most interesting changes imo)

Would you mind making a "Best of" Thread for at least the TM2?
With the TM2, now there is a "new beginning", and so starting such a thread wouldn't be much effort, but as we can see at the 635(!) pages of this thread, it would be VERY WORTHY!

I bet if we could delete all doubled questions and answers of this thread here, it would shrink by at least 40%.

I mean, i could do that, too, but no one has that much information about it now like you have, so i'd say, that's your turn :D

Unfortunately I haven’t even had time to do a full review of the TM2 - which I will do soon - but can’t work in a best of right now . Regarding to specifics in changes to anything in TM2, look back a few pages or on his Instagram story. I have to be careful what I divulge to slow counterfeiters down, hope you understand .

SEARCH for the treasure...
Oh yeah, must be a new board if only slightly, everything tightened up and improved, never felt like I was lacking for temp control before

Yeah, not sure how a more “accurate” electronic board can be in practice, if the same analog dial is being used.
While I prefer digital controls, I’ve gotten used to starting out at #4 or 5, then simply temp stepping up to the next highest number. My inhalation speed is a major factor in temperature as well.
I’ll be buying one as I held off getting a backup of my OG TM.

If I understand correctly your issue I think you just have to tighten your too ring a little more.
As @Siebter said above, there is some play but it should should once the top ring is enough screwed.
Initially my thought as well. When tightening it moves a tad on its own with the pressure of screwing on cap. Ever so slight, but enough sometimes to sit “off” and this creating unnecessary contact with some stems. I can get it right, then eventually notice it off again.

Maybe the screen got flipped and not sitting properly…so tube won’t screw down straight? Just an idea.
Interestingly enough, it sometimes seems easier to get the tube right when the screen is “wrong” side up. But I do have it sitting correctly. Thanks for reply!

I had to do that 2 times now, but hey, in nearly 2 years only 2 times some maintenance to do, no problem at all.
If it would be a real problem for me i'd have added some tiny amount of a special contact-grease to solve that once and forever.

No, this was already asked and answered, the new screen system does not fit in the old TM...
I am pretty sure i'd have no problems making that fit if it's really worth it. ;)

Regarding to specifics in changes to anything in TM2, look back a few pages or on his Instagram story.
I did, but as i said, it's already not just "a few pages" and it seems like i missed some passages anyway. And i am no member of instagram, old man with no modern social-networking here^^
But no problem, i don't want to bother others with my needs, i will just wait for official informations.

The accuracy would show in for example less impact of inhalation strength on the temp of the heater.
IF the speed of the control is the limiting factor. If it's just power because of heavy draws, the battery might be the limit first.
I suppose they mostly minimized possible overshooting when drawing inconsistently.
Not important for me, i only draw once per dosage and always as consistent as possible. Taking my medicine is a very conscious ritual for me, not just puffing by the way while doing other things.

Just grabbed a Ed's TnT Blackwood stem for out and about (RIP stock glass short stem) and a terp pill stem from high artisan.

Any tips on adding glass beads to the wood stem? Worth it or just takes too much away from the airflow?
I’ve got the same stem, wondering if yours is fitting quite tightly as mine.

Yeah I already find mine very consistent with a full range, and I actually prefer the analog dial to anything digital honestly, happy with extraction, but the TM2 will still be my #3
Yea same I inhale quite relaxed so the device can easily manage, though I imagine through water where I prefer to draw with some more force it could help temp control. I haven't used TM with water a bunch yet because the low start temp stepping is just so satisfying and I prefer to use that dry.

The analog dial is very nice. Besides keeping the device simple it just works very accurately and repeatable. Plus tactile buttons in a post skeuomorphic touchscreen world are just nostalgia <3

This is the kind of change that's mostly meaningful to the designer and geeks. In theory with the faster sample rate the PID controller can approach target temp faster with less overshoot and less of a dip when the air flow rate increases. It doesn't change anything from the user side of setting that target temp.

Has anyone noticed the TM2 reaching temp faster (it's already pretty damn fast)?

I have 3 wooden stems from ed's tnt, and the cooling units fit in all of them, although there is definitely a bit of variation between the ID of the various stems, and on is reallly tight.

The stem is super easy - just keep it tightened enough to stop it from sliding out, and always load and unload upside down - never had any issues.
I never have had ANY issues with my TInymight loading or unloading, slipping in the mouthpiece, etc. I load upside down. I learned that from here. My Tinymight looks brand new inside and I use it so many times in a day. Tinymight just rocks. It is truly the best. But, I have not tasted the Taffe Bowle!

Here it is……

TM2 Temps

0: LOCK
1: 140°C / ~290°F
2: 150°C / ~310°F
3: 160°C / ~330°F
4: 170°C / ~345°F
5: 180°C / ~360°F
6: 190°C / ~380°F
7: 200°C / ~395°C
8: 210°C / ~410°F
9: 220°C / ~430°F
10: 250°C / ~490°F (session mode limited to 230°C / ~450°F)

Awesome dude.. worth having a look at this artical as to what temp is about right for what effect..

https://honestmarijuana.com/vaping-temperature-chart/

bottom few paragraphs basically sum it all up

Experiment above and below the suggested ranges to see what makes you feel the best.

1) Best Mind Trip

For a truly consciousness-expanding mind trip, you want to get as much THC, CBD, myrcene, limonene, and β-caryophyllene as possible. To do this, set your vape gear to 360 ℉. That will vaporize just the right cannabinoids and terpenes without causing excessive couch lock.

2) Best Flavor

If you’re searching for the best flavor over everything else, set your vape gear to 350 ℉. That will provide a full and intense blast of flavor without the harsh, hack-inducing sting that often comes at higher temperatures.

3) Best Energetic, Clear High

If an energetic, clear high is what you’re searching for, set your vape gear to 356 ℉. This will ensure that you get as much CBD in your vapor as possible. CBD works to counteract the negative side effects of THC so you won’t feel anxious, paranoid, or heavy.

4) Best Body High

If you just wanna get stoned and make as deep an impression on your couch as possible, set your vaporizer to 392 ℉. It may seem counterintuitive, but this temperature maximizes the entourage effect to provide a truly righteous high.

5) Best Medication

CBD, CBN, and CBC play a vital role in the use of marijuana as medication. The terpenes linalool and humulene also have some essential medicinal effects that should not be discounted.

To get the best medication from your Mary Jane, you want to go as high as possible without actually burning your bud. Set your vape gear at 430 ℉ to get all the good stuff without encroaching on the combustion temperature of 451 ℉.

Is there a USA pre order for TM2? I remember a mention of authorized retailers here but I don't see it on the TM site.

do you have to adjust the setting depending on room temp (eg night vs day)? if so how much do you have to increase the setting when using the TM in colder weather?

I've got one unit that has had zero issues, except that I have to clean/apply contact cleaner to that and the screw about every two months to keep it running properly. I bought 4 new batteries one night not paying attention and thinking they must be dieing when performance lacked lol. My other unit gets used less, but has never been cleaned out adjusted.

TM2 will be ordered because the OG unit and support has been stellar, why not one up it.

Wow the TM2 can deliver 250°C / ~490°F in on demand mode. could the TM1 already do that, or could it "only" up to 240 degrees?

It works great in 100 degree F temps but do not know about cold I’m in Texas!

@cliffhanger1 OG TM only goes to 240 degrees C.

The temp setting of level 10 is what we refer to as “Beast Mode” and here is the description from the new manual -
Beast mode: Turn the temperature setting to max, the lights change color to white instead of showing the battery level. The unit delivers the highest available heat level.

Hence why it can do concentrates with no problem. I have been using hemp cotton for packing; dab some on and get some Powerful and expansive full flavor hits!

something about that doesn't seem right, the seller's other products look to include a blatant knock-off of the S&B Mighty+. I personally wouldn't trust or assume that's authentic at that cost point..
