I'm finding the screen gets mucked up really quickly
Some bud I find does this more than others and even more so I believe at lower temps. Even more so if you are a stirrer. One of my favorite FP accessory is the Storz and Bickle brush. They use a natural fiber. I never use synthetic brushes in my vapes….anymore. The S&B brush will clean up a ShovelHead. If it seems really gunky hit it once empty then a quick brush. I sometimes follow up with a sharp blow from the joint side. Maybe a less fine screen would work but it will probably create another problem.

Using the screen that came with the Shovel Head.
Dump when hot, and clean out with a S&B brush.
Works perfect, once a month I take it out and clean it with a torch or ISO.

I have a FlowerPot bowl question - I'm finding the screen gets mucked up really quickly after only a few bowls. I notice that the titanium screens have small openings. Has anyone found other screens that have a wider weave mesh for bigger flow? Any other screens people use?

Happy New Year. Be Well.

RIP VROD? Wtf is wrong with this company? I tried my buddies BROD and it's no different. I use a controller with boost and can offset any temp loss that way. They are really retiring their flagship for a gimmick?

The BROD isn't the B1 or B2...

And why would they continue producing the vrod/weedeater when they aren't the head assemblies that are selling? That seems like bad business.

try another cable if you have one on hand. Mine was like that at first but it turned out the cable fit was just SUPER tight and required more force than I thought was necessary to get in. I switched to another cable that went in easy and no problems since.
Oof, thanks. I had to push waaaay harder than I was comfortable with, but now it's locked in. Thank goodness because I definitely don't have any cables with 3 skinny prongs

Neither.... User error....

Reaching for a dab tool whilst watching TV. Involves squeezing past the dcup and b1. Should have watched what I was doing and not the TV. Totally my fault.

Mission failed.

Lesson learned until tomorrow.

Doh.

I have the Auber controller and the power cable connection sucks. It doesn't really fit in snugly so there's a very small position where it's delivering power to the controller and the slightest bump of my table/cord/controller will turn it off. This is especially annoying since when I move the cable back into position it'll take quite a while to return to the temperature I had it at.

Do others have this issue and/or know a way to fix it?
I have the exact same problem with RDK-200, which I bought from @VGOODIEZ . I just have been too busy to send it back. I stopped using it, as I would come back for a hit and it shows -H- error.
@fcmb, did a new power cable fix your problem?

looks like RDK-200 power cable is attached

Someone asked about bypassing the standby mode of an Auber 300 (for control by a smart plug) and I can confirm (after asking Auberins) that you cannot bypass the physical button through programming.

@fcmb
If you plug and un-plug repeatedly maybe it'll loosen your connection up?

Almost there...
Anyone else find the flowerpot, b1 specifically, to be extremely harsh on the throat? Out of all my vapes, it is the harshest by far. I even dropped it down to 600 and it is still harsh. It just really irritates my throat so bad. I'm wondering if the glass bowl would help reduce this some? I know metal irritates my throat so I'm hoping the glass bowl could help out.

What temps are you running at?

When I first started with my modded head, I was at 325 Celsius. It was amazing and blew me away with instant, tasty and super fat and thick clouds!
After a few days I noticed it was starting to get a bit harsh on my throat.
I emptied some balls out and dropped the temp to 310 Celsius and a slower draw.
Problem solved!

I put the B-1 away for a bit to force myself to use the InjectorHead. I’m glad I did. It took me a minute. I prefer lower temps but want gigantic hits. Most of the bowl options force you to turn up the heat because of how far the herb sits from the heater. So I moved the herb closer. Here are a couple ways I achieved that with success running at 560 and .06-.08 grams. 560 is the lowest I’ve ever gone on the PID.

First @Ed's TnT bowls are awesome. A bit deep but awesome. The depth actually allows for quite a bit of travel and allows you to find the sweet spot. You just need the appropriate screen, 5/8” I think, stretched a bit so it wedges in. Wedging the screen is better because it allows heat to pass over the full diameter of the screen. No green ring around the edges.

Second is the ShovelHead. Using a 14mm female post and a 5/8” screen pushed down on top of the post. The InjectorHead seals where the 3/4” screen normally sits. 7F7DDAC8-F4C8-418B-8D6A-91C7548AFB1F.jpeg

Lastly, your standard 18mm joint. The joints I’m using I just cram a screen down to the bottom of the joint. It takes a bit of finesse but done right it will stick.

Please @Chris_CH put a word in for me. We need a bowl with adjustable depths. Like I’ve said, I like low temps and big clouds and being able to bring the herb closer to the heat makes this possible.

over on the discord some folks are using one or two of the mighty reducers from sneaky pete to make 3 screen heights in eds tnt bowl, i ordered some myself but dont have them yet, looks good for options with that bowl.

@androponic are they wedging the screen in the reducer or just putting it onto the top???? seems like there would be a big dead zone in the bowl if your just putting it on top?
glass reducer or two in the bottom of the bowl and screen on top of it to raise it up closer to the heat source, the glass rings fit perfect inside the bowl.

@The Stray Fox so many flowerpots  I wonder has you collection surpassed our old friend @Zangano Cruel 's?????????
Haha bro. It’s a real problem. I wish Ole @Zangano Cruel would come around more often, stir things up, and put someone in their place. The good old days.

@androponic I actually saw that discussion on Discord and went out on a limb and bought some. They don’t fit well to begin with and like @Bad Dog is getting at they leave the undesirable green ring around the bowl where the screen is sitting on the spacer.

Yeah I pissed on the rug...... so what
I'm not saying the reducer don't get you closer to the heat but if you just put the screen on top won't you get a lot of tunnelling in the centre? since there is no air flow around to the outside of the bowl because of the thickness of the reducers??
