The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

I regret buying those gold-ish capsules, the don't fit properly like the aluminium ones and are not flex at all . One time in the dark I place it upside down and after session tried to remove it and the cap of the capsule stuck at the bottom of aluminium cylinder of Crafty+ and remove it only with pliers
Well if they don’t work out I think I can make a nice pair of cuff-links out of them.

So I just received my OG Mighty from dispensr.
It came without the 20 % more battery sticker but in the "new" whitish box. Do all the Mighties in this box have the 20 % battery upgrade?
Also it just came with a small zip bag containing 3 small blue rings, 1 dosing capsule, each 3 fine and coarse screens. Plus the brush and the 2 plastic grinder/filling things.
I've found many reviews saying there should be a liquid pad included, a SET of o-rings and just 3 screens. Even the manual says so, the back of the box says different though.
Is this normal?

I believe there was a firmware update, not sure when, like maybe 3 years ago that gave the OG from then on the claimed 20% in battery performance increase.

As S&B does not allow us to swap both 18650’s inside the Mighty, they simply UPGRADED to the most recent versions, of whatever brand vendor they source from. I know there has been some tear downs that have revealed what factory makes them, but battery technology has advanced enough for them to be able to ADVERTISE this “supposed” 20%. I trust S&B has been and will continue, to use the best batteries they can source, for all the obvious reasons.

Hmmm... I can see the reason for swappable batteries, but it's nice to not need them. The super fast charging does help, and almost makes this a mute point. I can usually wait 45 minutes for a rapid charge, and I do have a Crafty+. Now swapping batteries on that would be quite amazing. I'm going to check out the video and see if this is something I can accomplish in my Old Pot Head shop. Great idea.

But, my main point for posting is how intuitive and natural using the Mighty with dosing caps has become. My dispensary has been offering stellar product [which takes this to another level] that I medium grind. I pour a gram or two in my 4 x 4 inch square wood bowl. I have a large supply of empty caps, and I simply fill two, three, and sometimes four caps at once [not a hard and fast rule]. I tend to pack in about .2 grams, using my square bowl and my fingers works really well.

Keeping equipment clean is key. Beside the ritual weekly cleanings, I wipe my CU [no screen] down with a q-tip after dumping a capsule and popping in a fresh one. This only needs to be done about once or twice in a day [heavy use, about ten .2 caps]. I find keeping the oven and parts of CU that you can reach with the q-tip clean, will keep the dosing caps clean as well. Clean caps open and close very easily.

Now, onto the most important part of owning a Mighty - the process. I'm sure there are dozens of BEST ways to use the tool. I obviously like to have a few caps lined up and ready to go, heavily packed. Once you turn on the device, the dance begins. The first low temp pull [356-ish] is bursting with flavor and almost feels edible. The key to enjoyment of the taste and effect is patience, cadence, tempo with the timing of the device shutting on and off. I tend to let it shut down, maybe even take a few OFF hits, and pick back up again in a few - OR maybe go for two rounds in a row with no break, then let the unit cool down a bit. By the second or third round, I'm usually up about 5 or 10 degrees. That's all it usually takes, temp wise, to spend a capsule. I can ride this temp, or possible bump up once again to finalize [up to you and where you draw the line on ABV]. Normally, I can work a capsule for an hour or so, maybe faster if I've been out all day and haven't vaped. I can pack two or three caps for a night of TV, or an afternoon of gaming.

Very interesting technique @OldPotHead!
I never thought about taking a few hits when it's off.
My routine is pretty simple in comparison. I just take a few hits at 356 and then bump it up to 365 until it starts to taste bad. If it's my last hit of the day i'll go to 383 for one or two.

I've had my Mighty for a couple of years now and i still love it a lot. More reliable than any vape i had so far. And it hits better than most others. For me it's the ultimate vaporizer. I wonder if there'll ever be a vape that tops it.
I really liked my fireflies 1 and 2. When they worked. :) Quirky little beasts! And i still have a Ghost which is to inconsistent for me. No matter what technique. The Mighty is so easy to use and always produces nice vapor. Powerful hits too.
Sometimes i use my Grasshopper with a water bong. Very cool and full hits but not as comfy as hanging around on the sofa and sipping on a Mighty. :)

So here's my question for you fellow Mighty heads:
Did you came across another portable vaporizer that was as satisfying as the Mighty?
I'd love to try something new sometimes.

I've had a mighty for 7+ years, have read about lots of vapes that have come out since (and used a few). as far as I can tell, if you're ok with a session vape, the answer is no. 'on demand' isn't the mighty's strong suit; if that's important to you, all-convection has gotten a lot better in recent years, but I haven't seen/read anything that makes me think there's an all-convection vape out there that's as easy to use as the mighty. Troy @ 420 vape zone still seems to like his mighty best of all the 300(!) devices he owns...

I think it speaks volumes that when Troy did his side-by-side of the old and new mighty, he didn't find much difference, ended up saying the OG was a better value. if S&B couldn't come up with a dramatic, obvious improvement after 7 (8?) years with all the resources at their disposal, that suggests they may have (inadvertently?) come up with a vape that's as near to perfect as you can get.

kind of reminds me of chrysler's slant-six engine...

but it's nice to not need them.
Unless you don't care to use your Mighty when the batteries stop holding a charge you will definitely want/need swappable batteries. The only reason S&B doesn't allow you to swap them is so they can charge you to replace them or force you to buy a new unit.

You should check out the Hopper io. Instant heat up time, click it and rip it. No chance of combustion, couldn't be simpler - as strong of convection vapor as a plugin desktop unit.

Ha, doubt many know that reference! Used by farmers, to pump water in the fields, running 24/7 for many, many years. Just change the oil, add gas. Engine so good, they had to KILL it, $$$$ Got to have planned obsolescence to make a profit, unfortunately.... NICE oddball reference!!!

Tinymight. Had 3 Craftys, 4 Mightys, 3 OG Hoppers and 3 IO’s (and some other high quality vapes like Tafée, Volcano, Minivap). Thanks to some members here I pulled the trigger and I never looked back…

What do you mean not available? https://tinymightvape.com/tinymightvape.eu/index.php?route=product/product&path=59&product_id=50
For me it says 'in stock'.

To be on topic:
After owning my first Mighty for 2 weeks now I must say I'm impressed.
I've always been against S&B and their overpriced plastic Vapes, but the Mighty is truely a solid session unit. I prefer it even to my Solo 2, just slightly but I do. In terms of vapor production at least. Solo 2 still has a much better build and material quality + battery + ease of cleaning.
For the same price I'd probably go for the Mighty though. That was a real Black Friday Deal for me - new OG Mighty for around 130 €!
If they both are at the usual retail prices, Mghty around ~210 € or higher and Solo around 130 € I'd possibly go for the solo. Just my :2c:

You liked the mighty more than the Minivap? I really want to try a minivap but I have a bowle and mighty so don't feel like I need one any more

Yeah, i could order it from Finland which is ok. I thought they're from the US first. But i like to buy it at a local store because vapes often break after a while and it's nice to have a store around to take care of it. But i think i might give it a try soon.
Really wondering if it can compete with the Mighty for my needs.
I like convection vapes but after a while i always came back to the Crafty or Mighty. Maybe the Tinymight is different though.

mighty was getting very dirty again, decreased performance and taste. The oven was a mess!

Cleaned the Mighty+ for the third time since purchasing at launch. Warmed up the oven and the wiped the oven with some 91% iso in a q tip and t shirt. Very easy clean up on the oven. Almost as good as new!

simce purchasing the mighty i have only used the cloud EVO a few times, all other vapes are Sitting idle.

Definitely lots of VAS symptoms for the Tinymight, but It's a bit pricey, the value of the Canadian dollar sucks, have to import, and my wife would kill me. Probably going to die anyway??

The mighty/crafty was my favorite vape from 2015 -2019. MV is more for glass users or long whips, needs some cooling, but has an outstanding taste. Pretty much comparable to a Bowle, imho, in terms of vapor quality. I don’t think you are missing anything by not owning a Minivap, apart it’s massive battery power. There are some mighty/ MV comparisons in the corresponding threads. Feel free to PM me. You might open a new thread in „ask FC“ where I would love to contribute since I don’t want to derail this thread any further…

Got my Mighty+ a few weeks back. Didn't think I would find the new features useful, been a Mighty OG user since 2017. BUT, things just work...USB charging with fast charger is super-cool...The heat-up time is even shorter than I (still) expect being used to my old Mghty. The ceramic base is even easier to clean...Somehow things don't get stuck to it like they did with the OG Mighty... The only issue I'm having with Mighty+ is that the oven bottom screen falls off too easily..I've already lost like 3 when cleaning the unit in a hurry. Anyone experienced the same, any tips?

All the best to everybody

If anyone is looking for the actual smd switch used in the mighty for the power switch, you can get a replacement from Digi-key.

Digi-Key Part Number 732-7059-1-ND
Manufacturer Part Number 436331045822

436331045822.jpg

I haven't replaced the switch in mine yet, I just use a piece of wire to hotwire it on every time 😆
I have owned a Mighty for 5 years and the on/off switch has broken. S & B quoted a ridiculous price to fix it and it is not worth it, plus I have to send it halfway around the world, and get it back.
Thanks to this thread I have worked out how to get in and have a look and the top of the switch is sheared off. Can't find it inside so not sure what happened to it?

Is this absolutely the right switch (pictured above)? It is cheap but I need to get it shipped from the US to AUS so that adds up.
Also I have never soldered, and this is tiny. Am I kidding myself attempting to replace this?

You need to sit the screen properly, push the screen further downward to sit on the notch, that notch keeps the screen in place:tup:
