mmmm...yummie aluminium baked...in an aluminium oven with an aluminium heater through a plastic CU, totally different beast, that is why vapes are not supposed to be compared in vape specific threads. :2c:

Not impressed so far. It's easy for you to come around and talk shit, but provide very little insight to improve my experience.

I've read all 36 pages of this thread before I even tried my device. I'm not missing much here.

What are your tips to make this device be more useful? Because I quickly went from wanting a second, to not entirely sure why I bought one in the first place.

As I indicated in my post, my second btw, I'll be back and I still need to do some testing with it.

However, you're a hippocrit of your own rules that your pander on about. You, yourself mentioned you use this more than your mighty in this thread. You've also compared devices.

I could stand corrected here, hell, I even pm'd you about your contributions then you shit on me?

Who are you working for here?

Ok.. not sure why you're so vexed. Relax. We're talking about vapes here not life and death.

I think the vape performs nicely. But it's at it's best in session mode at full temp. Give it a few puffs to get it going and draw slowly for about 6 seconds finger on the button. Take your finger off and keep inhaling for a bit more. See how you go with that. I get nice clouds and at least 3 good hits maybe 4 off a bowl like that.

just got a backup to my silver gradient one i got from VPM a few weeks back. cant beat the POTV BF price and another 10$ gift card to use, maybe for a third. and oh my another 10$ comes with that one… VASGAS!
I also purchased a black V3Pro to compliment my Silver Gradient model. I purchased both from VPM, and was very pleased with their service.

While I prefer the looks of the Silver Gradient model (especially the blue highlights) the two units seem to perform identically. I can't detect any differences in heater performance, air flow, or battery life between the two units.

I own several Hoppers and no two seem to perform exactly the same. I own two TinyMights and one definitely performs better than the other (bigger clouds at lower temperature settings).

The only difference between my two V3Pros is the packaging. The Silver Gradient model came in an inner box with an outer sleeve. The inner box is white with only the brand name (XMax) on it. The outer sleeve has all of the markings and graphics. The Black unit came in a box with no outer sleeve. The box has all of the markings and graphics.

I know that some people like to know about the packaging, so there you go... :)

Ive had it for a week or 2.

Honeymoon is over for me

The hype is good and the price point is great, but it's not in rotation anymore due to me wanting to use capsules.

Still looking for other ppl to share their results of capsule vs no capsule on the xmax, maybe my units heater is weak? But no capsule the thing rips! So I think mine works as designed

Pretty good trick -- you posted on page 35! :)
Please don't get to thinking I'm harassing you, think about it, I don't even know "you"; I just thought that it was something funny.
Friend, it is so easy to mis-construe someone's intent here in 'chat mode, when often someone's flippant attempt at humor can seem to come off other-wise.

It is sounding like a lot of folks think capsule-use is less satisfying. Maybe capsule use in general is more suited to conduction (or hybrid) devices? (Personally, I'm not motivated to make the bowl any smaller, so I'm going native.)

Damn VAS !!! I have the V3 (not Pro) and find it works very well (particularly at it's price point). I also like my HR Rogue. Need (yeah, right) to get another one of one of these. If V3 it would be the Pro. Anyone care to furnish opinions?

I think this one is right up your alley my man, although I don't know what you mean by "I have the V3 (not pro)" because there is no xmax V3... This is the original, they just went with the name v3pro in a reference to the old xmax v2pro (which actually did begin as just V2)... I know how confusing this is, I really wish they went with a more original name for this model @PPN maybe "the Vex"?

none of us here is a perfectly perfect person and sometimes comparisons can't help but be made but comparisons are not encouraged in the product threads. If you wish to have a more detailed discussion between 2 vapes that is what ask FC is for. and a difference of opinion is no cause for hostility or name calling and in fact we also have a be nice rule. your new so @LesPlenty was just letting you know how things work around here, and there is a big difference between a difference of opinion about a vape/accessory and insulting a person directly. and if you do ever meet a perfectly perfect person I'd beat him to death with a baseball bat cause he is probably a Illuminati reptilian infiltrator!!!!!!!

Okay, fair enough. Is the XMAX V3 Pro a worthy upgrade over the XMAX Starry v3?

It depends who you are asking, Robert loves his starry, but they are completely different beasts, starry is session conduction with a larger chamber, xmax v3pro is pure convection on demand with a session function... In that way to me, they are not really comparable at all... What do you want?

I wish I could give you an answer. They are two different vapes that, for me, serve two different purposes.

When I am seeking the maximum psychoactive effects, I go for the Xmax Starry v3. Whether alone or through my bong, the older unit hits the hardest. I also use the older unit when I go out. It is portable, durable, and it fits in my pocket.

The new XMax V3 Pro is what I choose when I am seeking the flavour, or just the ritual of vaping. The newer V3 has great taste, and there are times where I am NOT seeking psychoactive effects.

I ordered 3 different cases from Amazon for my V3Pro. So far I have received two, and here are the results:

iDream365(TM) Small Size EVA Carrying Case/Bag/Pouch/Holder for Executive Fountain Pen,Ballpoint Pen,Stylus Touch Pen-Black

The V3Pro fits snuggly inside the iDream365 case. It is very basic, with a hard shell but almost no padding inside. It should protect the vape from scratches and minor impacts, but may not protect it from long drops or stronger impacts. It should keep the battery lid and mouthpiece intact, or at least keep them contained if they do come off during an impact.

Cosmos Black Color EVA Hard Shell Stylus Pen Pencil Case Holder for Executive Fountain Pen, Ballpoint Pen, Stylus Touch Pen, Apple Pencil, Wacom Creative Stylus 2

The Cosmos case is similar in construction to the iDream case (hard shell, almost no padding), but it is about two inches longer. The extra two inches are not needed to hold the V3Pro, so they are wasted, and only increase the carrying size.

The third case that I ordered is similar in size to the Cosmos, so I doubt that I will be using it when the V3Pro fits in the iDream365 case better.

Please, stay nice and polite cause nobody was harassing you. You asked for tips to maximize the V3Pro performances, here they are:
- don't load a full bowl and don't pack it
- use a fine grind for best cloudage
- use high quality flowers
- take long draws (+10s)
- start with a slow draw and increase it for the second half of the hit
- if you are a beginner remenber vapor isn't smoke, to visualize it a side lightning is preferred with dark background
- Higher t° will produce bigger clouds
- To get some extra vapor density you can restrict the airflow using your hand on the air inlets
I think I didn't forgotten anything, hope this is will help you, have fun and be nice!

Yes, I think capsules are best suited with conduction vaporizers (or hybrids) OR with powerfull convection devices although the V3Pro isn't designed to deliver that amount of power, so native is the way to go

I'm not 100% sure but I believe we choose that name cause the beta unit was using the V2Pro battery tube and, at this time, I suggered myself the V3Pro... although I agree it looks like a very different unit now!
v3pro.jpgHere a bad picture of my beta V3Pro with a Tinymight stem+cooling unit, I load flowers in the stem. It came with a capsule and a wood mouthpiece, I'll try to find the original mouthpiece it came with. I still use it... sometimes.

I'm glad you appreciate the V3Pro taste, I think the effect's difference you mentionned is coming from a unit's difference:
- Starry's bowl is bigger, I think you can pack 3x or 4x more flowers, more flowers=more reliefs!
And I can add we can see many videos where peoples don't really inhale the vapor (mouth pull) to avoid to cough in "live" I believe... although, one day, I noticed myself to imitate that with convection vapes mainly , now I take care to pull only the amount I can inhale and I can feel effects from every well working devices I'm using, if there is vapor there is psychoactive in!

Interesting. I do find different vapes have different effects and some are milder than others. Maybe it's because I end up holding this one in for quite a long time during a long inhale before exhaling, but I find it reaches the desired effect nicely!

I've mentioned before my mouthpiece wobbles a little when I put sideways pressure on it, seems like there is a slight gap between the end of the scraper and the body of the unit. but my magnets hold pretty tight!

Agree with everything you say.. but VAS follows in time as sure as night follows day!
I can maybe put it off for a while.. Still have some stuff for the V3 I am looking at, the glass mouthpiece and bubbler. What happens after that, I don’t know..

I'm not a 100% sure but I think for the best 18650 battery health and longevity a slower charging is actually better. I think LIPO don't have the same thing though??????
It is. Slower charging, is easier on the batteries than fast charging.
I don’t think fast charging is significantly bad, I thought it was just a myth but couldn’t find any good info on it right now.

But I do know that for LiPo/Li-Ion batteries (includes 18650 batteries):
  • Letting battery drain to 0% will degrade/shorten lifespan
  • Charging to/keeping charged at 100% will degrade/shorten lifespan
  • Keeping charged at around 60-80% is best for battery health
I did find this info about fast charging through a quick search:
  • ”The phone has advanced monitoring of battery health and full control over how much power is used to charge the battery. Temp sensors monitor the temperature of the cells and the phone decides if it’s safe to continue charging at a higher level or back off and let things cool down. It is not running max amperage from start to finish - most batteries can safely quick charge to 80% or so with very minimal degradation. Then the phone will slowly top off the battery to full.” <——This is true for my iPad for example.
  • ”A fast charger can be damaging to the phone’s battery only if there is some technical fault on the hardware front or badly managed software control for battery charging.”
I was assured by engineer the V3Pro support fast charging, I charge mine with a Quick Charger 3.0 (5v=3A), cable ends are USB-C on a side and classic USB (like for computers, wall chargers,...) on the other side. I'm not sure I understand exactly your query, does fast pd charging differs from QC3.0? please enlight me...?
Yes they are different. Your Quick Charger for example gives out max 15W (5v x 3A=15W). A pd charger can go up to 100w using new usb-c standards. My ipad can fast charge at 30w, if I plug a 100w pd charger to my ipad the charger will only give out 30w, because they communicate with each other. So the V3 for example doesn’t need to fast charge at 100w, it can fast charge at 20w if it commnicated with pd chargers, but it doesn’t seem to communicate at all so it won’t even charge with pd chargers.

Usb-c pd chargers are becoming standard in most electronics, both android and apple phones, mac and windows computers etc. I can charge my phone with the same cable that goes to my laptop for example. Laptop needs 60w, phone takes only 15w.

Just want to share some info with this post, the V3 is still a great device even without pd charging.

I recently acquired an Arizer ArGo which is also an 18650 powered portable vape. It has longer battery life than the XMax V3 Pro, but it takes almost two minutes from start, until it is heated and ready to draw. For all its features, and its <30 second heat up, the battery life on the XMax V3 Pro is better than average.

Feature wise, the XMax V3 Pro can't be beat. The price is right; the PlanetoftheVapes Canadian site has this on sale for $87.xx; I paid $105 for the unit I picked up.

@Robert-in-YEG do yourself a favour and grab some molicel p26 18650's they are now available in Canada, can be gotten at flashlight world and a vape store but I forget which one . there's a coupon code for flashlight world but its still more expensive than the vape store, I wanted a 18650 flashlight to retire all my old 18650's to so I went with flashlight world. you will notice battery life improvement in most if not all of your vapes

Already picked some up..... Very good batteries. I think Molicel manufactured for Sony or Panasonic; I can't remember which.
