Thanks @Brenyo for the early beta Revolve stem. You guys and gals are in for a treat. I'm very impressed with the performance. The style is very familiar if you've seen my recent stems. This is not just a stem - it's a machine. The Revolve is doing a treat with my Ti tip.

Looks-wise, how is the black stem in person (compared with titanium for example)?

Here are a few more new pictures of the colours, I'd say the first 3 represent how they look IRL.

I really wanted to see the stem taken apart and yesterday finally found a video on youtube. I have to say they look amazing man, vapor should be the smoothest it can be in a Dynavap! Really looking forward to them being available, was gonna buy a different brand stem, but I'm gonna wait for yours for sure

Blatant shameless request for motivational encouragement...

I don't have to do this, it's not part of my agreement with Brenyo, but...

...if you want me to get off my lazy ass and do a review of the prototype stem... give me a lot of love!!

The more love I get, the more I will feel inclined to do this!

If this is annoying, please accept my apologies, motivation is a rare resource these days and I need to know a review like this is wanted and will be appreciated before I spend the significant time it will take for me to do properly

Heyo. First post, made the account specifically to voice my excitement about the sense. Recently appeared on my radar as an improvement over ny other IHs but have two hopes due to experience. Probably way late in yemrs of my thoughts actually being taken into account- I realize this but humor me high

1. Adjustment to depth of the induction cup (or fairly deep at default). Both of my present heaters have the hottest spot near tip but it's much better centered toward bottom of cap. Imo this prevents having to go way past click or under heating

2. Ergonomic design in terms of being able to hold in left hand (for righties anyway) and easily hit button w thumb. Very nice for walking around or heating discretely. Ergonomics for the wand are great in that dept though look forward to senses more portable size

Alright, I admit I'm back. That new stem really does look sweet.

Could the beta testers talk a little about airleak with these stems? Inquiring minds... I've had bad experiences with other brands.

Also, does the mouthpiece air adjustment allow some cooling when the stem airhole is blocked?

I don't know how the final design will be but the spinning mouthpiece is bleeding a bit of air. However, you can seal this by moving the o-ring and fixing the mouthpiece. The betas have very free running mouthpieces.

Covering the carb-port-hole seals everything else. I do know a little bit of carb, adjustable of course, goes a long way. Finding the 'air port' - same old story. Good news though - I just moved the o-ring in the mouthpiece and the seal throughout is excellent without holding the airport.

The same vape path length is present in all configurations. Even in the most direct path without adding carb air you get a vape path equivalent to what I consider a 5" straight unimpeded stem. The actual length is a trade secret. But know that I have some experience at that level of stem making and I have to say, this stem is very effective at cooling vape. And it is only 80mm long, just a bit over 3 inches. Isn't than an XL +7mm?

I am also very impressed with the machining and the finish. Bren sent me the black one and it is probably the best for luster. The level of detail in this device is remarkable. There is good reason to keep the details a little quiet for the time being or I'd be all over it w/pix.

I've put several grams of Pineapple Express CBD through the Revolve stem. I hate to admit it - this is the first metal stem I can actually use and enjoy. The insides are still lightly coated with vape honey and comes apart easily. Stem milk is going to have a whole new meaning soon.

Hello! Welcome to the forum

1. Insertion depth control won't work well with temp sensing, but it's not really needed as you can set everything digitally and make it work similarly if not better (the centre point of the heating will be positioned in the centre of the bowl regardless of the temperature that you want to achieve), you don't have to rely on the click at all. Shifting the heating position would de-calibrate de temperature calculation for the bowl.

2. Yes, it should work well regardless of which hand you use it in. :)

There is VERY minimal air leak and it can happen at 2 places as TommyDee said. There is a tiny gap in between the mouthpiece tube and the mouthpiece itself to allow it to spin. This can be eliminated with the o-ring that stops the spinning. This leak will not pull extra air into vape path, just into your mouth next to the tube. The other leak is at the airport between the cooler part and the inner side of the stem - this is what you were asking about I think. Both of these are so minimal that I believe most of the users wouldn't even notice and would say that it's a perfect seal.
The glass body leaks a bit more air at the airport as it has a tiny bit larger inner diameter. This could be improved slightly but then we'd loose the compatibility with the Dynavap stems (M, vong etc) as they have a smaller ID.

It's 109mm with the tip, exactly XL size.

Good morning everyone, or afternoon, evening depending on where you are!

Thank you for all the encouragement, I was going to leave this, but ... but seeing as it's you guys 😃

Before we get into it, I want to make it clear that I respectfully checked in again with @Brenyo and there is absolutely no reason not to post this, it is 100% okay to publish these photos showing the detail of this stem :tup::tup::tup::tup::tup::tup:

All images can be clicked to view full size.

Exploded View

First of all, this 'exploded' view shows all the parts, don't be concerned about the messy mesh, that will be machined and this one is a bit bent from inserting it into the tube.

Revolve-exploded.jpg

Stem Modes

There are three modes on the stem, Open, Bypass and Closed.

  • Open - Fresh air enters through the Precision Airport and mixes with the vapour before the cooling spiral.
  • Bypass - Fresh air is added after the cooling spiral.
  • Closed - The Precision Airport is completely closed and no fresh air enters the stem.

Precision Airport

The precision airport allows you to set the amount of airflow into the stem in whatever mode you chose to use.

precision airport

Assembled and

Partially closed.
The name precision
is not meaningless!
Completely closed!

Draw Control

In addition to the three modes there is also draw control in the mouthpiece.

Draw-Adjustment-Slot.JPG
Draw control disassembled

mouthpiece slots into an
aperture on the stem.
Internal mouthpiece inserted

and half open.

The combination of these two features means you can set Revolve up to behave pretty much exactly how you want it to, want it free and open, no problem, want it closed down lock tight for full draw resistance - you're covered!

It is very impressive and remember this is just a late stage prototype, the improvements to the final design are good. The principles are the same, the implementation is just slightly different. The attention to detail that is going into these things is humbling to say the least.

The Mesh

The Mesh, damn, this makes reclaim a breeze. Simply pop the mesh out into your tip and vape away... it's very convenient and works much better than I imagined - well worth doing! This also helps keep the maintenance of the stem down.

==

Okay, that's all from me at the moment, I hope these images and descriptions are helpful, any questions please ask

edit: I just came back to check for any errors having been away for a bit, and spotted that I loaded up the wrong photo for the precision airport not being meaningless part - oops! Corrected now - see how small that hole goes!!

Makes perfect sense actually, hadn't really taken the temp control into account. Very glad to hear!
Will keep an eye out for release.

Very excited about the revolve too.
Are you saying the main body with the fins can be swapped with m body or mvs for example?

I tried this with another stem I have and it's fine except the airport was in the wrong place, I think you would probably need something specifically designed for this, unless you got real lucky! I believe there are lots of options going to be available :)

Yes, but as kel said the airhole is at a different position so there will be no airflow control. It’s best for airportless stems or closed VonG unless it’s made for it like these beauties from phatpiggie . There will be a few more new body options from next year, not just the glass 🙂
