Tafée Bowle

So I put the TB on to charge before bed and woke up to it with all lights off on the puck. Unplugged/replugged in and noticed it was 3 full lights and 1 light flashing, still wasnt fully charged. Odd that it kinda stopped charging and went off. No big deal, it finished up in under 30 minutes. Filled a basket and got ready for the 1st use of the day and after powering on with 3 clicks of the puck, I set my temp to 1 and pressed the fire button once to start session and I got a little noise from the puck. Sounded like someone put their lips to a harmonica and barely blew into it. It was not a loud noise but one I picked up right away. Now it pretty much does it every click of the fire button.

I have recorded a video, I just don't have an account for any services that allow you to upload/host a video to link it here. Any suggestions on how to get a video link here other than signing up for yet another account that I'll hardly ever use?
Doesn't sound like the reset will fix this but just in case ... did you try the reset below:
1. Press both the power select and fire buttons together quickly 5 times. The puck will only power on again after connected to charge cable.

2. When charging, if charge is too slow, remove the cable, wait about 10 seconds and reinsert the cable.. sometimes the battery trickle charges and needs to be disconnected and reconnected for the charging chip to recognize fast charging.

3. Finally, even when the battery indicates it's fully charged when plugged in to charge by indicating four solid blue lights or no lights indicating charging.... Unplug and reconnect the charger to make sure the battery is full indicated by "four flashing blue lights". If 4 blue doesn't flash when the charge cable is reinserted, then the battery is still only 80% charged and slowly trickle charging the remaining 20%. Unplug and reconnect to reset the charge until you confirm 4 flashing lights when the charge cable is removed and reconnected.

When I'm charging for lets say an hour or so and all 4 lights (previously on) are now off - are we saying that the device is not fully charged?

My understanding is that it's rare.... but the 3 step reset procedure used when things aren't working quite right includes a step to test and fix the possibility. I've checked for it every now and then and only once did it 'look' like step 3 did something.

Hmm - Maybe that's why I get only 2 bowls before I get to battery level 2. At that point there isn't enough charge to finish another bowl.

@Bazinga - I'm getting 27 draws per charge last count. Number of bowls is hard for me to use as a gauge for how well the Bowle is working.

If you're concerned you could always try the reset procedure.

I just did a reset the other day. But may try it again.

It was definitely on a slow trickle or something because I plugged it in to charger before heading to bed. Woke up, it was no longer charging(all light off), but upon unplugging and replugging in, it was only charged 75%(3 solid lights, 1 flashing) of the way after like 6-7 hours.

Yes, I read that on the thread earlier. I now always (unplug/replug to)make sure the puck flashes all 4 lights before taking it off the charger.

@Silver420Surfer that's an odd one. I'd reach out to Tafee, especially if it performs any worse.
It sure is lol. Gonna try a reset before contacting.
If it is something not good, I am sure the folks at Tafee will get me sorted out.

Thought I'd share this email I just got from tafee for anyone else who's interested in a hot beverage cup. The copied and pasted email is genuine, only the names have been changed to protect the individual's involved.

Dear Bad Dog,

Many thanks for your email. Your inquiry is well received.

We are working on a glass drinkware for hot beverages and hope to have it ready for release this year. If things progress well, we anticipate a release in the Summer.

We remain available to help answer questions when you make your decision now or in the future.

Warm regards from The Tafée Team.

For the first time tonight, enjoying an icy beverage in the cup. I love how it cools the stem. Question I have, and I may have skipped over this if it was previously asked, but c’mon man, I read through 50 pages before asking.
Given how cool it makes the stem, how much impact does having a nice cool vodka cranberry on ice for 4 hours impact battery? Does it have to work a little harder to heat, or is it insulated in there? Love the convenience but not at the cost of a battery that needs every bit of juice possible

Well fuck me! I’ve only gone and done it....converted someone else to vaping!!! Technically it’s not really me it’s the bowle but I’m claiming the victory! I’ve been combustion free for knocking on 9 years now and in that time I’ve owned LOTS of vapes, some absolute shite but most delivered a hit that you would notice, and in that time I’ve tried and tried to get people to fuck combustion even gifting some vapes that people liked. A few dynavaps have been gifted as well all have gone to there new home and ended up in a draw or cupboard never to be seen again:huh:
Well a friend stopped by to deliver some shopping and I let him try the bowle, he was blown away I told him vapefiend had stock and he went home an ordered straight away:rockon: I now have a vape fwend. and it’s all thanks to the bowle!

Excellent question! When I've been in "How many draws per charge" test mode I didn't use the cup. I'll have to remember to keep tabs during my nightly festivities. Stay tuned....

One thing I don't like about the cup is how quickly the ice melts .... hard to believe but packing a cup with ice and placing it on top of a heat source causes the ice to melt faster than if it weren't on top of a heater .... shocking! I've had to adapt occasionally by splitting into two pours or adding more ice along the way which does dilute things a bit. Sure would like something insulated........

It was only a matter of time before I tried this.

I'll have to double check how many are in there as it's more than you can see in the photo. I just cleaned the stem but when I had originally loaded it, the balls weren't as far up in the stem so I had to make sure they didn't block the ceramic bowl if they fell down between removing bowls. Cleaning was a breeze, I placed it in an ISO bath for a day or two and then ran ran hot tap water through the stem while covering enough of the bowl hole so the balls didn't push out from the water pressure.

There's a little more draw restriction than normal but cooling has increased as well.

i agree, the ice does melt a lot quicker. Who knew? I’d be looking forward to your report. Followed a lot of your stuff as well as others on this thread before pulling the trigger. thanks for the guidance!

You're welcome! This sight and the folks who frequent it went out of their way to help me when I first started vaping and I try to pay it forward. I'm still tapping into the expertise around here...

Same here. I’m about a year into this little hobby and I’ve learned a ton, mostly by lurking, but with the occasional post. While I feel fairly comfortably knowledgeable for my needs, I know when it’s good to keep your mouth shut amd be the dumbest guy in the room!

Taffy may be sweet, but Tafée is sweeter!

Ordered another unit, and they sent me two. They appreciated my prior gifting, so looks like another Bowle for the sage of the High desert. Perfect vape for medical patients who don't want to fiddle with a device or technique. They just want relief -- easy, cool and fast

My new puck is taking 3 1/2 hours to charge from the flashing lights indicating it’s dead to full 4 solid lights. This is after performing the reset. Is this normal charge time for everyone else?
