Tafée Bowle

Vaporific

All who wander are not lost...
You don’t have to use it. I mostly use my BCG and scoop into the pot.
The inexpensive/plastic one comes with it from what I'm reading on the site (finally looking on my computer). That would suffice even if I don't use it and likely would fill it otherwise. Honestly, I don't grind that often like many of you do (I can hear a pin drop and your mouths are agape I imagine); I like to have on hand and not have to deal with grinding that often. That's how I've mostly been vaping for about 8 years now: pre-ground flower ready to go (several strains too; during the pandemic of all things I found an amazing connection and a lot cheaper than the local dispensaries). Indeed, drier flower (over time) but less frequent hassle - for me.

I finally watched the @Vitolo cleaning video a few pages back too. Very cool - thanks! Doesn't look hard at all and I know that was a deep cleaning which isn't always necessary. I do try to keep my vapes relatively clean and this one doesn't look too bad to maintain. I'll sleep on it a bit, and I doubt the optional drinkware would make it onto my order should I pull the trigger. TGIF to all and have a nice weekend. :peace:

@jbm and @staircase slight of hand, with the flat mp and the (tall) cup in place the mp sits level with the edge of the cup and it feels like I can't get a good seal with my mouth. Also there is so much air rushing in I run out of breath before getting a full draw. I prefer the tall mp as it sits above the rim of the cup and is just more comfortable for me :)
I'm kinda in the middle....the longer mouthpiece is easier for me to use than the smaller, flatter mouthpiece, but the smaller one has slightly better air flow due to the larger opening.

With the smaller one it feels like I'm getting ready to play a flute except I'm breathing in not out.

You can pull both mouthpieces out a little so they sit higher too. In some cases pulling the mouthpiece out a bit can improve air flow as well if you've pushed it in too far.

@Mndeadhead - I tried to perform the "is the battery/heater affected by ice cold drinks" test last night.

Unfortunately I started a little to aggressive and finished off the first pot and the first double vodka/cranberry way too fast and totally lost count. When I went to log the draw the wife starting laughing at me because she noticed I wasn't recording every draw anymore.

I'm not sure I can pull this off
That’s the greatest test report ever. I discovered an additional benefit with the cup tonight. I have my puck plugged in a lot, but find this cup is becoming my daily driver be issue I haven’t had a condensation issue yet, so no need for a coaster. #winning

I now consider my bowle "one of the regulars". It feels natural to use and maintain. It offers its own unique signature. It's form factor can be a handy disguise. But if it isn't clean, the odor will most likely give it away in a non-herb indoor environment.

I can easily think up several situations where the bowle will be my go-to device. Perhaps a quick beer-run, backyard bbq, definitely while hanging out in the garage, or almost anything outdoors in a stationary setting.

But when summer / golf season arrives... There's no way I will give up one of my golf cart cup holders to carry it in. With one cup holder being used for my refreshment, the other one is always taken up by something that I need access to more often than my vaporizer while golfing. With that being the case, I also don't think I will want to carry it willy-nilly in my bag or cart compartment. So this is one of a few situations that I will still resort to a more concealable device.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to disparage, just thought I'd contribute something objective for anybody who is considering jumping in.

I dumped my MV1's at the beginning of the year and within 2 days was regretting getting rid of my only true convection devices. I'm absolutely ecstatic that I decided to give the bowle a chance. It perfectly fills the gap left by the MV-1, and then proceeds to exceed in many ways. But, whereas I was willing to take the MV1's golfing because I could throw them in a DaVinci IQ bag and chuck them any old place, The bowl is going to get used slightly differently. But, I am happy to make those trades for the things it does better than the MV1.

Have a great Saturday everyone! I'm going to go sit on top of a frozen river and see if I can't call any fish through a hole!!

Peese!!

I've been going fly fishing the last few weekends and was taking this week off... I am looking forward to warmer temps, its been in the 20-30s my last few days on the river.

I've taken my Bowle several times and it is really portable with just a stem and puck in my chest pack. But as you mention, the smell is quite odiferous and I do have concerns if I have it on me during a fishing license check. I now tend to leave it in my car for lunch break.

With my use, the portability factor is not so much hampered by battery life, as I take power wherever I go. For me, what would improve portability would be if there were some lids for the pots so that I could transport a stack of pots loaded. The Potter is awesome for loading, but IMO less ideal for transport.

I’m sure the smell would be mostly muted if a person took off the silicone mouth piece and found a “cork” to put in its place.

Last couple of days, I’ve been using my unit without the silicone mouth piece just to see if I’d like it.

Fly fishing is tough in the winter around here. You have to drill too many holes. And your aim has to be exceptional.

We need delta 3D caps for both stem ends to hide odors when out and about :2c:

Outside it might not be bad but the puck has a bit of scent to it as well by itself that can be smelt inside. If smell is a real concern I think a smell proof bag, the kind with activated carbon sewn into the fabric, is someone's best bet if you're in non-friendly location.

So this is the new flavor of the month? I don't really like the design or looks of it. The cup just doesn't seem right and bowl and stem look like a toilet. The vape might be excellent but I'd rather hit it out of spaceship or something other than a cup and a toilet. Maybe this same company will make some other vapes that I may like.

We're looking for a few more days of colder weather here. Ice is 4 inches thick in the best spots on the river right now...SKETCHY because of the nature of the river's current plus a few layers of snow and a few days that were above 32 degrees in past week.

I could definitely make the bowle work while ice fishing, but that's another activity I'd put in the "probably not" column for myself. I generally reach for the dyna orion case for a trip on the ice - which has a twin flame torch and a few stem set-ups in it along with my stash container. That kit has everything necessary, smells less, and has already bounced off the ice and concrete more than once - not saying that the bowle can't handle that, but I'd prefer if it didn't!

As soon as I get home and unloaded tho, it's chill time in the garage with a pot from the bowle with a bourbon and water. Good luck, GIT BENT!!!

I wasn't too fond of the design and cup either. Now that I have one, I must say this is a great vape. The cup remains in the box. I have no use for it. The design and form factor have grown on me and I now quite like it. The performance is outstanding !! Might even get another one.

Yeah it seems another vape comes out....
Back in 2017 and 2018, we could not keep track of all of the new brands and innovations that flew by faster than anyone could imagine.
This rapid development, makes it trickier to spot the spectacular... BUT....
...Now when one does become "flavor of the month", this is good.
The combined vapes that have been deemed on this forum to be popular enough to be "flavor of the month"
give the consumer/public choices that Vaporizer Enthusiasts have found worthy enough to build 50+ page threads around!
Keep your eyes open for each "Flavor of the Month" and on occasion you'll find a Tafée Bowle!

Bad Dog

Yeah I pissed on the rug...... so what
This one is becoming more appealing to actually pull the trigger on, tentative not to far off distance updated cup release this summer, free shipping within Canada so no getting double screwed on shipping for said cup later, good 2 year warranty doubled with site registration. Maybe I could bounce a little dept on my credit card, I'll have at least half if not more saved up by the end of the month thanks to quitting smoking tobacco and this would make a fine reward for all my efforts 😈 my plan for the bowle is visiting my cousin for a session and being able to leave all my regular crap at home! Will save me from having to carry a armful of stuff home when I'm baked, love the simplicity of it. Already have grand schemes of using it doing Maple syrup this spring which is just around the corner.

I cleaned my unit for the first time today. I definitely place this vape in the "low maintenance" category, which is great. Soaked the stem and pots in iso for a bit, then a quick rinse. Didn't bother removing the screens from the pots. Mouthpiece was cleaned with soap and water. Let everything air dry. Done!
