I thought it was granted if you can prove your ordered was refunded 2X due to others beating you to the punch
Ahh, okay got it, I think with my P80 it was in my cart and after I added my address and stuff it wasn't available anymore so it won't count then yeah?

I just looked back at my credit card it was only 3 X's I was charged for that didn't show in my orders, that I resolved by not clicking return to the merchant after credit card approval for the final one. LOL It was definitely quite the adrenaline rush :)

Remind me again if we're allowed to pre-enter our credit card info on our account once logged in? I thought I had done that by recommendation of someone on here, but I honestly don't recall. When I'm logged into my account now I don't see an option to view/change it so now I'm wondering/questioning how the system knows about my credit card during yesterday's drops and when I attempted to order a PIRO and P80 heater fix kit earlier today, getting past step 5 (Payment Method) without entering any additional info and onto the last/confirmation step (Step 6). Something ain't right, and I'll again assert it's not my bank account and credit card (banks are closed today in the U.S. due to the holiday - I just tried calling them to get to the bottom of 'international transactions and prior authorization - but again, what do I tell them? I want to order something from Switzerland, great, but who knows when it will be - two months or two years?). :peace:
Try using pay by bank transfer and they have an alternative way to pay by credit card there.. Your purchase will be saved until you can get your credit card to work as well.

Wow... I tried every item, tetrax and P80, custom and non. Guess I should have kept trying.

After 5 tries I gave up. Things were still in stock, I could see them, but I just thought I couldn't order no matter what, not that I just had to keep spamming the system.

They were available for a minute or two I believe. I still saw slots availabile at 12:10.

You could still buy SOMETHING at 12:30 even. I just couldn't get to the card page. I just gave up because I thought it might be messing with his website, or that post finance might ip block me if I spammed purchase attempts.

I never saw the cc entry screen. Looks like we just had to keep spamming the system until we got to the "other side".

I don't think anyone or many people used a bot since items were available for 20-30 minutes,
I don't know how you saw slots 10mins after bro. Slots were gone from my side after 2 mins tops.

Again if you check out with bank transfer, you can pay by credit card later and make as many attempts as you want. I found if their bank approves you, you can not click continue back to the merchant or your order will be lost. You need to wait for it to redirect back after 1-2 minutes and it will process to their database correctly. But make your initial check out with bank transfer and you can make infinite attempts by credit card to pay the amount after you get your slot.

Being in e-commerce for over 30 years, I figured this out after about 12 hours and was able to pay for one of my Xs that I selected bank transfer for (when their processor was down, had they not been down, I wouldn't have tried it). This is a sure way that you will not lose your order due to processing issues no matter how many attempts it takes, They even offer an alternative credit card option after you select bank transfer if you can't get theirs to work after you try several times and there is no time limit to effect the actual transaction.

** Can anyone answer if its correct that if you fail two custom orders you will be granted a slot in your 3rd?
I don't think it's a bank issue because I was never even able to enter my card details. The post finance error appeared instead.

We were never informed that our orders would count if we chose bank transfer. Since it's a first come first serve basis, one would reasonably assume an order is confirmed when payment is approved/received. Choosing bank transfer would definitely give an advantage though. But money won't appear so shouldn't count? I believe one can buy all 15 slots using bank transfer and still be faster than the dude paying with CC for one unit.

I highly doubt that choosing bank transfers would work. Lamart would've figured out this loophole from the first drop. If it really is the case, then it all makes sense. No wonder I couldn't check out fast enough. How could I have been faster?

I’ll call my bank today to confirm I can transact something like this in the future. However my bank is a major national bank and I’ve bought purchase online overseas before. I think there’s an issue with the checkout as I got the post error several times - and I was logged into my account before the drop.

Indeed it’s frustrating and I won’t blame Lamart for how he wants to run his business. As others have stated I’m not sure I’m going to wait a year or two to obtain one especially when the prior couple of drops are during my workday due to the time difference and I can’t always carve time out to attend one. Contrary to what someone said above, I have few vapes (and little VAS) and funds to buy P80s as stocking stuffers for family and friends - but I’d be happy with just one for myself. And I’m not terribly picky either with the customization. Heck, I tried for a custom 3 times yesterday and got the error and then one of the last pre-builts and the same error. I don’t think it’s my bank but I’ll confirm today (my day off). Terribly frustrating experience and a big turn off. Time will pass and likely other vapes will come to market and more easily obtainable. I doubt I’ll wait a year (or two) to get one of these or waste much more time trying assuming the slots are convenient, which have been few and far between. The P80 is the only vape I’m eyeing right now but I’ll let it go soon as something I may never achieve and obtain. An albatross it is... :peace:

EDIT: even if the issue is with my bank, what do I tell them? I want to buy something from Switzerland but can’t tell you when, so how long do I ask them to keep the transaction open for? Two months or two years? This is what I fear but I’ll find out soon.

EDIT 2: just tried ordering a P80 heater repair kit and it accepted the Payment Method (step 5 during checkout) without any issue. I didn’t complete the order of course. To me that says there’s a payment issue during drop times. I’m not making this up. Fair? No but it is what it is and it’s the site’s issue - not mine (nor likely many of yours too).
All of the issues were definitely not related to our banks. As I previously stated, on the P80 customs and P80 pre-builts, the errors occurred prior to me being able to enter bank card information. It simply would not let me get beyond confirming the purchase, and never let me attempt to enter bank card information. I had no issues at all, however, completing a purchase for the TETRAx.

Fine, however my attempts today to order a PIRO and P80 heater kit used my 'credit card' option (the default one) - whatever that is since my info isn't likely stored with my account - and it took me to the confirmation step (step 6). Let me ask again - is our credit card info stored on our account at all? I don't recall and I can't find it anywhere when I'm logged in. If the checkout process ignores the payment type then it's an issue as far as I'm concerned, drop or no drop. I'd be fine with using a bank transfer but that doesn't remedy a potential issue with merchant order checkout, especially if I want to use my credit card that's pre-authorized for international transactions (which I'm not 100% certain it is but the fact that I can order something now in the same manner tells me it's an underlying site issue - or at least one with the payment processor - regardless). :peace:

When you chose bank transfer you can pay by credit card using a different method, my order I paid the next morning and it was accepted.

The Post Finance error started happening intermittently. I successfully acquired an X this way. I am simply trying to help people so they don't have issues next time.

Again, they offer a separate credit card processor if you chose bank transfer and you can also go back and use their normal one as many times as you like once your slot is secure, so you have two credit card processors to pay with. Bank Transfer does not literally mean Bank Transfer.

I'm starting to spam now, I just want to make sure I'm clear as this really can prevent huge hassles for people in the future.

I understand you have good intentions but once again, it couldn't have been the bank.

Other members experienced the same as me. We never was able to reach the part to enter card details. So it can't be the bank. Its likely a P80 specific problem because another member couldn't get the P80 slot but managed a TetraX like yourself.

I told my bank that I was indeed trying to order from this particular store and that they should let orders to that store proceed, rather than flagging and denying them. I still had to enter a verification code for the custom I got yesterday, but the payment went through.

Yes, I failed to purchase 3 x's before I was I figured this out. And the second credit card processor is an international transfer service like a PayPal. So for what it's worth

Oh and something else on the whole bank thing...

I called them before one of the drops and asked about pre-clearing an international purchase. They basically told me it can't be done, they can put a note on my account in case it happens to be reviewed by a human, rather than a computer, but if their system automatically catches it & flags it, theres nothing they can do about it until after the fact.

I'm sure thats not the same everywhere though. I just happen to have made the mistake of opening a bank account with one of the least convenient banks out there, despite their slogan...

If you're right, many are gonna hate you for revealing it cos Lamart might just do something about it LOL. I know I would.

Regardless, what's done is done. Even if it wasn't fair, slots have been taken up and Lamart cannot possibly make new slots appear out of thin air lol.

I'll still jump at one if given the chance but won't we all? So it's a moot point anyways. Not gonna let this bother me anymore. I'm gonna continue to enjoy my hobby. Not fret about it lol

Firstly, I do appreciate the info! I really do. I'm trying to get to the bottom of the issue(s). I appreciate the fact we could use Bank Transfer as a method however it doesn't mitigate the fact that the payment processing system doesn't appear to work for the credit card option - at least it didn't yesterday during the drop. Then again today I can sail through to step 6 (order confirmation) choosing the default payment method (Credit Card, which I can't find on file on my account anywhere). So, if I place an order the site will submit my order and then wait for me to provide payment info after-the-fact? This is what I'm experiencing and I'm sure other are likely as well. This doesn't sit well with me that I can place an order and not affirmatively provide payment info (again, I can't find my credit card info on my account when logged in and the site doesn't know anything about my Bank Transfer info at all if I choose that option). So why is the site letting me proceed to confirm my order without providing any payment info? It doesn't make sense and, during drops, even more confounding and it doesn't work. This is my last post today. Time for fun... :peace:

EDIT: I promise my last post today. I just registered a new account on Lamart's site, started a PIRO order and when through past step 6 without entering any payment info - and then got the lovely Post Finance error with an Order Reference and a couple of null values for Total Charge and Beneficiary. If you ask me, something is broken with the site and it likely was during the drop. I may not have 20 years of payment processing experience under my belt but 30+ years in software development tells me something is not right with the site. Peace and happy MLK Day to all...

I hope that's not the case :) the site actually doesn't save any transactions when you're approved if you hit the continue back to the merchant site after the Post Finance processor approves you. That was why I had to try the bank transfer check out and saw the second processor. I actually emailed Ralph so he can fix the problem, because you can actually get charged and if you click to proceed back after it says you're approved your order doesn't get saved. So I hope this isn't a back door people were using. I think it's just a way to make sure you can pay for now until they fix the processor integration. But for those having issues with their bank, the second processor is definitely a big help.

cc worked for me at least. when the drop was revealed, i called the bank and while i have no idea what they actually did, they said i could specify a 24 hour period when i was making the intl purchase, and that it would be less likely to be flagged as fraudulent, so i gave them the window of sunday. i don't think lamart stores cards (i tried to see if i could to expedite checkout, but couldn't find a way). they store billing and shipping addresses though, and then i temp stored my cc in chrome. had all pop-up blockers turned off for the site. was logged into my account and had my cart already full of the accessories i wanted. i feel bad saying it, but i didn't get an error when clicking to confirm and go to external payment. i used the visa checkout and had the confirmation email in my inbox at 1:00.

i will say, on saturday i did a bunch of test runs, and i did get the error the first time while trying to checkout some accessories. but then i went back and immediately tried again, and all of the payment options came up (i didn't actually try to pay though). i tried a few more times saturday night and sunday morning and never saw the error again on the way to the external processing site.

so not sure what the actual problem is that needs to be fixed, but checkout process did work as intended at least for a few people. that being said, despite my preparedness, it seems like i could have just as easily gotten the error again during the drop.

After your card was approved, did you wait to be forwarded back to the lamart site, or did you click the button to return to the merchant's site?

Processing was working for the most part, but if you did not wait for it to automatically return you to the lamart site, and you clicked the button that allows you to return to the site right after you get the approval message the orders were not saved in your account, at least 3x in my experience.

It's a very specific issue that was causing orders not to be saved, for the first hour or so all my transactions were approved.

Again, I don't fault them, issues happen with e-commerce, I am just trying to help them isolate this issue so they can fix it for the future.

Try ordering something today after the drop. With a new account I just created today it didn’t prompt me to enter my credit card info (default option) and took me to the confirmation step and then the error. Sure I could’ve chosen Wire Transfer or Bank Transfer but didn’t. You shouldn’t be permitted to continue without specifying a payment option, drop or no drop, let alone getting the Post Finance error. Sorry. I perused online my bank’s stance on international orders and didn’t see anything explicit about providing advanced authorization. I’ll confirm this week since they’re closed today but I doubt I need to provide advanced notification.

As I mentioned before the drop I’d be OK not scoring one - my first drop I participated in - however the playing field was not level. The site or at least the payment processing part is not working correctly. Doubt it all you want but my experience yesterday and especially again today proves it. :peace:

Okay, when I waited the final time it worked. So this is what I isolated it to. If anyone was successful not in only paying but in actually having their order show up in their purchases under their account after being impatient and pressing the button to return to the lamart site after credit card approval without waiting to be automatically returned, then we need to look elsewhere, but I have 5 credit card transactions that were approved to prove this theory. For the final two, I waited and got my X and Accessories.

I think it's important that we do what we can to help them fix the problem, obviously, they don't want to be charging people and not be saving the transactions. The credit cards not getting approved is an entirely separate issue, I was only suggesting using bank transfer check out, because it provides a second credit card payment option, and it gives you time to screw around with calling your bank etc for the people that had other payment issues. I really want a P80, maybe I shouldn't have said anything, but it's only fair to the community that everyone can participate in these drops.

Well knowing what I know now, I would have waited LOL, but I'm so used to shopping online and I always click return to the merchant when I'm done paying. Part of my impatient nature, I was also refreshing the site every second from 8:45 on! I guess it's true that good things come to those that wait. (or maybe just those that are slightly patient)

Which payment method did you choose? Is it remembering something you’ve already entered? If so, fine, but it doesn’t work if you’re new or haven’t ordered before. Again, I just created a new account and tried placing an order, and it didn’t prompt me for my credit card (default option) or bank account info, and got the error. It shouldn’t let you past step 5 without payment info - and during yesterday’s drop the error occurred on this step and not past the order confirm step. I’ll again assert the playing field is not level and something on the site isn’t working correctly now and, likely, wasn’t working correctly during the drop. I’m done posting about it. Sour grapes slightly perhaps but I’ll deal with it and move on - but the site was/is not working properly... :peace: :peace: :peace:

To their defense, the site is built by him, but parts used from another developer. At least this was his explanation during the last drop last year.

He is on the VaporEnts discord if you guys are on there. I know a lot of people who tried and got the parts. I believe choosing credit card can be an issue with your issuing bank.

Order checkout doesn't even prompt me for a credit card number if I choose the option so how would I know or even my bank know it's a problem with my bank or not? Sorry but it's a site issue - and I'll bet (not that I'm a wagering person) that it was an issue during the drop too. DONE. :peace:
