I would recommend the solid valve over the easy valve if you wish to strictly micro dose. Otherwise you will need to put the liquid pad on top of your herb in the chamber.
I have both but I don’
When micro dosing with the volcano, is the reducer the way to go or just lightly cover the screen and throw a concentrate pad on top?
I have both solid Valve, Easy valve, easy valve with reducer. And Liquid pads. I always use normal Easy valve with no pad or reducer and I don’t find the Solid Valve to be so much better or efficient. It may be, but it gets dirtier, has screws and a couple more screens to keep tidy, and has to be hold in place while inflating a bag.
The reducer is probably useless if you micro dose. It can hold 300mg (250mg using a capsule) or else, better defining micro dosing first ;)
I just set it to 230C, sprinkle a pinch of grounded weed and collect the wispy vapor inside a bag.

You don't need to hold the vapor in for 10 seconds, that's ridiculous. It's a myth that's been around forever that people have to hold in their hits.

https://www.royalqueenseeds.com/blog-debunking-the-myth-of-holding-a-hit-of-marijuana-n748 - That's just one link but I can find hundreds more if you want...

Explain why respiratory therapists tell you to hold in your medication for 10 seconds then?? This isnt combusted smoke we're talking about here, this is vaporized cannabis gas.

Edit: Also i may even say that any exhaled vapor that is 'visible' is also 'wasted' vapor i.e not fully absorbed by the lungs into the blood.

My volcano dial seems to be squeaking and isn’t as smooth as it was when I first bought it six months ago.

Has anyone else experienced a squeaky dial? Any tips to fix it?

Maybe take off the aluminium shell and see about using some lubricant as precisely as you can without getting it everywhere. I wouldnt be afraid to use a tiny bit of wd-40 on a qtip, that's just me though. Might be a safer option for the lubricant somewhere.

Does anyone know if there is a chart showing the internal temperatures of the chamber, at different settings for the Volcano Digit? After letting the fan run on some AVB in the chamber, for over a minute or two, it reads under 300F right after removing from the heating element and opening it up.

Is there a consumer grade device that could tell me the air temp coming out of the unit? Even the top of the heating element only reads ~335 -369F after leaving the fan on 390F for a little while.

What's the consensus for leaving the Classic on? Should it be turned off between bags? Can it be left on like the 7th Floor vapes?

For instance, when there is a football game on. Can the Volcano be safely left on for the entire game? Or should it be turned off if not using for a bit?

I only ever had a digit and I value the fact it has a shut off timer. I’m sure Hybrid has that too. Classic doesn’t. If you like the gold plating is fine, but the gold edition is no different than Classic.
I rarely do more than one bag per hour, usually way less than that, so for me there’s no reason to keep it ready all the time and I forget to shut it off. Some FCers like to have it switched on all day.

2020 claimed another victim. My 12 year old Volcano Classic has finally died. It’s been on its last leg for a few months, even after opening it up for a check up I had to give it the old tube tv whack every time just to get it to turn on the heater. But today the heater just stopped engaging. It was on for a few bags and then the next bag I loaded up came out clear so I checked and the Volcano was cold and the heater light would not come on. It might be possible to fix, I may tinker with it but I’m prepared to move on from it. I’m using my back up Volcano now and plan on getting a new one. 12 years is pretty good though, lots of good times.

I picked up the easy valve starter kit after my solid valve broke while cleaning it. Must say I prefer it to the solid valve system after a couple uses. seems to leak muuuuuch less (maybe my solid valve was busted for a while?). Anyway gotta say I'm falling in love with this thing all over again.

The air path is sealed on the hybrid :) so one can pack the chamber as tight as can be and suck it out via the whip without fresh air leaking in and diluting the vape.

New owner. Got an open box deal that was practically looting.
Holy calamity, I have a newfound appreciation for electricity as usual portable owner.
Anything to parse over besides order bags according to turnover?
If you’re using the Easy Valve system, consider turkey size oven bags.
