As long as I didn't have a device in my hand and played a bit with it, there's no way I will recommend it in the first place. And that goes the other way around too: I myself have never used a Grasshopper; we all know about the bad cs reputation Hopper Labs has, *however*, I avoid to recommend against the Hopper as long as I can not even refer to my own experiences.

Ville / the maker / anyone from the company never took part in the TM thread here on fc, just like many other manufacturers don't, so it's a bit odd to look for their answers to several issues here – however, TM owners have had conversations directly with the company in the past and received *extensive* customer support and explanations too (which often gets shared / quoted in the thread btw).

In my opinion you are not in the position to decide how bleeding edge the TM really is. We should avoid to be co-hyped by a new device and recommend it without having personal experiences with it.

I get it, we see recommendations differently. I have rarely recommended the grasshopper specifically because of frequent failures, battery shortages and customer service issues reported here (even though it would be a great fit for some people), and I have recommended quite a few others I’ve never used based on a lot of reading and my respect for the opinions of a lot of other FCers.

I think it’s worth passing on what I do know to people who aren’t going to read thousands of pages about dozens of vaporizers like I have (or who just need to catch up on a specific one quickly), but I try to leave direct performance/vapor comparisons and stuff to people who have actually used them if I haven’t

If you only want to talk about things you use yourself, that’s fine and I can see why you might prefer that.

You’re right that there were a lot of great customer service reports early on, but lately there are a lot of people complaining about not getting responses for a long time, and I believe the only people saying they’ve got a quick response recently are people who have talked to him a lot in the past or who tracked him down on Instagram.

Like I said, I think the support issues will be worked out and I’ll recommend that more people check it out at that point. For now though, as long as we’re seeing people report significant malfunctions and delays in CS responses and we’re not seeing reports of any kind of resolution for several users, let alone finding out what the problems actually are, regardless of its “bleeding edge” status I have to recommend average users look at other options or wait and watch to see when TM customer service is back to what it was early on.

I’m sure most people reading this part of the thread are sick of it, so I hope we can just let each other recommend or not recommend what we think we should. I think it helps to hear more than one opinion on things. :peace:

Oh, and if anyone still reading knows about these issues and wants to order a TinyMight right now anyway, go for it. Most users are happy and aren’t having any real problems with theirs, and I expect support to get back on track at some point.

I’m sorry if it seemed that way, I try to be transparent about what I have and haven’t used. Everything I mentioned as a problem though, including the glass sleeves and ceramic pins - both of which have been broken or dislodged by more than one person in the TM thread, was taken from reports that you can find in the TM thread written by people who have used it (or at least tried to).

If you look at me as a researcher/reporter, does that help?

You also ignored the much more important things I said which focus more on support. I know you think they’re getting better again, but for now I continue to see reports of no response to support emails for a long time and this is my main problem with it right now. Some people are having problems and not getting responses when they try to get it diagnosed/fixed.

As for the electrical contact issue, you may be right that it is not a problem here and in that case the comparison doesn’t fit perfectly, but there has been significant discussion about it in the TM thread, and even several reports that cleaning contacts did help with performance problems, so I’m not sure what to believe on that one.

Assuming that is not a real issue at all, there is at least one other unexplained issue causing performance drops or worse for several people who have been waiting a long time to get any response to their support requests.

I’m not sure why you seem to defend Ville against every bit of criticism or why you won’t let this go, but while I have nothing against him (or you) and I hope the TM does well I think everyone can benefit from some amount of criticism, including me.

I’ll try harder to make it clear when I haven’t used something personally, but I will also continue to share what I’ve learned from reading other people’s experiences. Since I doubt anyone personally reads everything on here I think that’s an important part of the forum - especially Ask FC.

That's not quite true, I did refer to it and said that indeed at the moment it's not too pleasant to have an issue with the TM and while I think they improved quite a bit lately, those improvements are slow. That's a fact. But the TM is not prone to need support, most devices work well. The thing is: pretty much any company struggles with customer service or service in general these days, which does not make us for example recommend against S+B products *in general*, right? Because we assume that while S+B is having a hard time these days (which they have), they will get back to their original service quality eventually. And that's what I see for the TM crew too. And why can I say that? Because I actually experienced TM customer service and do not only read about their recent fails and struggles. That's the difference here.

You might have missed my little paragraph on why aluminum oxidization is not really an issue because aluminum forms a layer of oxide as soon as it comes in contact with oxygen. Keeping battery contacts clean (which might have been the issue for said cases) is a good idea with any device, not only the TM.

I know anything with electronics and a lot of others with breakable parts will have some problems, and I really don’t consider it a big deal unless it’s a lot of units (in this case it doesn’t appear to be) or the people affected have trouble getting it fixed (which has been the problem here).

It also concerns me that some people are developing (as far as I know) unexplained problems months into using it. Sometimes this can indicate a design problem that starts affecting a lot of people. I hope that’s not the case here, but personally I’d want to hear what the problems were and how they were resolved before ordering one.

I wouldn’t want to waste my time reporting issues second hand if they were being reported, but almost everything I’ve seen about the TM in Ask FC (and I think everything I’ve said about it before this thread) has been positive and right now I think an average user considering the TM should at least know some people are having some issues with the device and with support, and they shouldn’t have to wait for a disgruntled TM user to come around if I can give them a lot of the same info.

I was glad to see one of the people with these issues got RMA info today so hopefully it won’t be long before there’s no need to mention this stuff anymore!

I just don’t agree with that. People recommend things based on what they’ve seen/heard/read all the time, and as long as they’re honest about what they know and whether or not they have a financial interest in people buying something (I haven’t used a TM but I’ve read almost everything on FC about it and I make no money off of vaporizer sales anywhere), I don’t see a problem with it.

I would give your first-hand experience more weight though. :)

lot of support and good experiences. I think I am not going to be a first adopter like many and can wait.

as others will know I have amassed quite a collection and can keep satisfied while learning with these pieces.

I finally received my e-nano yesterday. It's so tiny! I knew it would be small but didn't expect it to be that tiny. It is very sturdy aswell, has a good weight to it. I really like the aesthetics. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to give it a good try but that will follow the next days. But if it keeps what is promised about the device I'm sure I'll be totally satisfied. Seems like the perfect microdosing vaporizer.

I'd like to fill my stem up with some glass beads, like epic vapes does it with it's "ice cool stem" and as many other manufacturers or modders do with their devices as well. Seems like a cooling hype recently.
Has anyone an idea where I can purchase some quality (I don't want any glass dust or similar in my lungs) glass beads in Europe? So far I could only find one store (http://www.glas-per-klick.de/glaskugeln-spezial/reinglaskugeln/glaskugeln-reinglas-3-5mm.html) and I'm not sure if it exactly is what I'm looking for.

I'm totally happy with it. A log vape was really the right choice., at least for satisfying my microdosing needs. I'mt not sure if I'd recommend it to heavy users/macrodosers. Max load I've packed into it was about 0.05 g, usually I pack less and get like 2 nice, milky hits. If I want heavier loads I just take my tubo and d020 bubbler.
My Solo 2, fury and vapcap must feel lonely as they haven't seen any use since.

Alright I'm already considering buying a Splinter v2 (non Z model) as it's available at a quite good price I think around 82 €/97 $.
So my question, is it really a good price? Are there any downsides on the non Z v2 china version?

Nope! That is indeed a nice price! Just remember the joint size on Splinter V2 is a non-standard 19/19 so get as many spare stems made by RBT that you can, especially the cooling stems and water adapters!

Oh well, I was thinking that I can't be that bad if it's being used in the new tubo / tetra p80. Don't wanna spend huge money on a mod though. Not more than 50 € is possible. What would be your recommendation?

Yeah the one from vapefiend is the RBT cooling stem so that will fit, not sure about the vaposhop one, and the dreamwood one will definitely NOT fit.

There are standard glass sizes for 19 mm joints, that refers to the width, but the length for a standard size is going to be 26mm (like the Dreamwood stem) or 22mm (which is what RBT Vapes used to be and what Splinter Z still is, but those old RBT stems will not fit regular splinters) so then the regular splinters are a custom 19 mm length as well, hence 19/19. So if it's not an official RBT stem or one made specifically to fit the regular splinter, then it has to be custom cut or sanded down to fit...

Thanks for the good explanation. So 19/19 is width/length. Too bad that I can't use my regular tubo stems. RBT specific stems are quite expensive and hard to get without importing. I guess sanding it down isn't that easy either without the right equipment.
Is there by any chance something available on dhgate in those dimensions? Using the search engine there is kind of an adventure though.
Well I guess the 19/19 form factor is what makes the v2 comparatively small.

Thanks for the good explanation. So 19/19 is width/length. Too bad that I can't use my regular tubo stems. RBT specific stems are quite expensive and hard to get without importing. I guess sanding it down isn't that easy either without the right equipment.
Is there by any chance something available on dhgate in those dimensions? Using the search engine there is kind of an adventure though.
Well I guess the 19/19 form factor is what makes the v2 comparatively small.

I doubt you can find anything 19/19 anywhere if it's not made directly for Splinter... You can also try to wrap an o-ring or something around the joint to help it seal without inserting all the way into the splinter, a little riskier than cutting it down though.

There's been a few Milaana 2's on auction through IG account "rbt.md". I can't recommend the Milaana enough, it's one of my favorites. There are some 3's available on the RBT website as well. The low heat option would be similar to the 2.

The Splinter has the same heater as the Milaana and would also be good affordable choice if you can find a box mod for a good price. RBT devices are something special and I highly recommend them.

I'm totally happy with it. A log vape was really the right choice., at least for satisfying my microdosing needs. I'mt not sure if I'd recommend it to heavy users/macrodosers. Max load I've packed into it was about 0.05 g, usually I pack less and get like 2 nice, milky hits. If I want heavier loads I just take my tubo and d020 bubbler.

I skipped the E-Nano (for now ha) because I was worried it wouldn't be able to keep up with my usage. I opted for an Alphadog which is being built right now and hit a little harder; @arb can confirm.
