Vaporific

All who wander are not lost...
Thanks I looked but there is a lot I this thread!!!!
Another nominee for the Best of TM thread if it’s not already enshrined.

If on my road bike there is no way I would bring my TM. Though I’ve been using my hybrid mostly these days and do have a rear rack and bag but I’m still a bit concerned about the jostling. I usually bring my Hopper or Fury2 on rides in general but there’s a first time for everything. My TM doesn’t get out that much though it does rattle around a bit in my car’s beverage holder, lol.

I will attempt to open it up and clean those haptic motor pins and contacts. I have a few different type of tweezers including fine point for gently bending the pins up a bit to insure contact with the pad. I just wanted to think it through a bit before it goes under the knife, er tweezer. :peace:

I recently took delivery of a replacement unit from Finland, for all those interested this process took 2 months from the date of complaint. I do believe the TM can be a bit fragile due to the glass liner that extends all the way around the heater. The glass can break when the device is dropped.
If anyone knows about any cases (like you have around a cell phone) something made out of thick rubber would be great!

this is on setting 10 like 5 long draws through it, the unit does get pretty warm in your hand, what could i be doing wrong?

yes the oring is in place, tubes are both fully seated, nothing in ondemand or session mode

the unit is 2nd hand but supposed to be brand new, this was ordered in July block and delivered to him in Sept, then got yelled at by his wife so he sold it on entx, everything does look new.

I guess i could disassemble the unit but would it be that simple of a problem or what would I be looking for?

check the screen with the ring that is in front of the heater, it should be wide side up .

it is also worth checking the o-ring that is located between the upper metal part and the quartz inside.

it looks like i have the oring between the quarts and the body, but it may not be perfectly centered but probably good enough, the wide side up is facing up.

Seller said he turned it on and that was it, i did find the cooling unit was used and had reclaim in it......

any other suggestions?

@thunderstealer1337 – At first glance I don't see anything missing, but do you say the seller claimed he never really used it, yet you found signs of proir usage? Because that would be a bit fishy.
yes a lil fishy, but he did mention he was coming from a splinter and my guess was he tried the cu on his splinter??

but on post #6010 @stonedaze posted this up, my TM looks to be in the same shipment block as his (shipped last week) and looks like I am in the same boat as him, just no vapor at all unless you suck like crazy - and that is barely anything, stonedaze where are you at now, did you find a solution? I have even tried diff batteries thinking the vct6 would boost it somehow....
I just received my TM tonight and so far, I'm not very impressed. It seems I received an expensive paperweight like so many others have lately.

On-demand mode gave me no clouds at all, except finally when got a little wisp of vapor (smoke?) by turning it up to 10 and sucking as hard as I could for as long as I could. After about 8 tries, the load has a tiny round circle of dark brown or black just on the surface right in the center, and the rest of the load is still bright green.

Session mode on setting 10 was no better. I couldn't get the slightest vapor unless I sucked as long as I could until I almost passed out. The only thing that did work was to use the temperature boost mode by holding the button down while in session mode at setting 10. That gave me some decent clouds but I had to inhale for a long time.

Also, there's an indentation mark on the side about an inch long and 1/4 inch wide with teeth marks as if this thing was either dropped, or a heavy metal tool or something fell on it, either before or after assembly. I'd want to return it just for that reason alone even if it did work. What a major disappointment after waiting for 10 weeks!

judging from the photo, the screen in front of the heater should be wide side up and narrow side to the heater. try turning it over and evaporating it again

Ive tried flipping that screen in both ways, no real help for me, and pictured is the wide side up  sad for all the hype and literally 2 units that landed last week share some weird heating irregularities (I was shown the order did get shipped 9/2)

I dont think my unit was really used, everything still smells like the wood from the box, no residual weed smell anywhere, the wood smell was so strong I immediately waxxed it to kinda cover it up.

it's very interesting what the reason might be .

It seems to me that the wood is not correctly aligned with the top plate ... which may obstruct the air flow...(?)
With no greens in the stem, try to blow hard and check if the air comes out evenly in the holes surrounding the stem.
Try to loosen the main screw a little bit and try to align it better.

WOW, i was just going to post up about this, see my pics, i stuck a needle down all my holes and only like 5 of them go through, do all of your holes if you drop a needle in go all the way through?

That is ok... it's not the problem, mine does the same. (EDIT: DOES THE SAME BUT IN THE OTHER SIDE)
But you can clearly see that your wood is misaligned

Well observed, @dzoinp! I agree that it's misaligned, which explains why the device gets hot, but not the air in the vapor path. Not sure where this comes from, but @thunderstealer1337 you could try to carefully disassemble your unit via the long torx screw and try to realign the plate (hoping the wood part is not misshaped or something).

Well done, gentleman. I hope it solves Thunder’s problem!

My Tinymight again has a heartbeat, i.e. haptic motor, albeit faint again. Ran out of juice with the battery and swapped in another and during on demand press for heat up faintly vibrated. Did it again the next draw and also during power down. I don’t think it’s the batteries as the issue first occurred with the first one, swapped the second fully charge one pretty quick to see if it was one of the batts but there was no haptic feedback during the whole battery. One of the sucky things about not having haptic feedback is not knowing when you’re battery is done. The third one was perhaps coincidental. I’ll keep an eye on this.

As such I may not open it up again soon. My Tinymight needs convalescence. I’ll keep it company ;):peace:
