My Mi 2 is not quite as responsive with a Nub as it is with an og rbt Mi 2 stem or my DDave cooling wand. I think it has to do with the rimmed screen that I have to use with the Nub. I can't easily sit a standard, rimless rbt screen into the nub. With ddave's wand and with og rbt stems, I can sit a regular rbt screen into the gong or into the stem and the results are suprerior as far as vapor production and consistency of performance. The nub takes a little more time on the button and a slower draw for similar results, I'd say. Fewer sessions per cell in the end maybe but the coolness and the low profile that the nub provides is worth it.
Have not been around for a while. Where did you get the Nub? Thanks

I couldn't purchase from the Lamart site. Wouldn't take my cc.

@VGOODIEZ , any chance you can use your influence to see if someone can manufacture a slighlty larger sized Nub? A tad more diffusion would make it even better than it already is. Just wouldn't want to go too much bigger and lose the super discreet function the Nub also offers due to its size.

Since VGZ did not design them you are better off emailing Lamart about that request... Also it's possible your credit card company is rejecting the international purchase, you can call them and tell them what you are doing so they stop blocking it?

They have a new cooler mouthpiece called the tank (looks like a turret) but I don't know if it will fit RBT (since yes my nub does fit well but my spiky bent stem does not)

Anyone else order an Mi3 when the site went back up for a couple hours? Haven’t heard back and the payment on my account is gone. I guess I really did miss out
my friend ordered one during the window, but I think he said he was refunded. I would expect the payment to show back up in your account :/

I'm asking anyone I can think of. Thanks. Something with a bit more volume. I'll stumble across a maker who's up for it one day or another.

No need. @VGOODIEZ took care of me.

Mi 3 kicks ass. Fast and consistent. What? A consistent Milaana? Yep. Consistent. Reliable performance. No messing around. I love my 2 even with its loose joint. Its size and weight work well in a pocket. The 3 is bulkier but no biggie; I just don't carry it in my pocket.

So I managed to get my hands on an Mi3, not 100% sure what I’m looking at - i knew I wanted one and saw one pop up on entex so I jumped on it. Anyway if showed up I haven’t done anything more than look at it so far lol figured I’d at least post some pics here. This is what it came with:

Ipe wood Milaana 3 w/ High Output Screw
1 Low output screw
1 stir pick, new
1 KGWoodcrafts African Blackwood stem, new
3 Xl8r stems, 1 long, 2 short - 1 used
2 short stems
Extra pick
4 baskets - 1 used
2 batteries

the whole high output low output thing has me confused...it seems to me the high output screw is currently installed and the low out put is the other? Not something I see myself messing with. Anything in particular I should keep an eye out for using this?

I’ll try to post some pics now... let’s see how this goes

Start with a non-cooling (short) stem, and get the feel of it via heat output. Mine runs nice and warm and extracts quickly so I try to ease off the heater quite a bit, and still fully extracts in 3-4 draws.

I usually preheat for 2-3 seconds, continue on the heater while drawing for 2-3 secs, let go, continue draw for 2-3, on heater for 2-3 more, off for 2-3, on for 1 second, and finish my draw off cooling the heater. Lol sounds ridiculous but I've had great flavour and clouds right from my first bowl with my Mi3, with no scorching. My favorite portable for certain.

Once you get in a routine with timing your modulations of the heater, then the cooling stems offer excellent cooling (I can hardly detect any heat at all with the short xl8r).

Cool, thanks! Seems relatively straight forward, biggest thing is just getting down button timing? I appreciate the tips!

Doesnt sound too ridiculous either! Looking forward to getting to learn it

Edit: Is the top knob supposed to be relatively easy to tighten/loosen? Even just rotating the pick/cover will loosen up the screw. I thought I read in here at some point they became fixed, so is there anything I need to be aware of with that?

At some point a lot became fixed, but some in the wild may still have the loose screw problem. I don't know the fix, but I'm guessing someone here will have info on that.
The second included screw is different, and was an add-on to give the two output options. Mine only came with one, installed, I don't even know which one, I just use the thing. That's the short story I can offer there.
When inserting a battery, I think most of us feel more comfortable with positive end down, it is better protected and if there is a venting situation, it is pointing away from you!

Modulation of the button is key to happy vaping with Mi3, but other factors, especially your draw speed need some attention as well. Loose track and you will char material...
Get your technique down and use as you like. I enjoy spending a long time with a chamber, many clouds without super high temp. Others rip it in a few big pulls; it's up to you.

it helps to visualize it as a fire inside and pushing the button is giving the fire gas. then visualize the heat coming off of it as a sweet spot that you have to draw (inhale) at a certain pressure to pull into the bowl. If you inhale too hard you're pulling the heat past and away from the basket. If you pull too slow you're not pulling any heat into the basket.

I hold the button for about 5 seconds then start inhale.
As soon as I see vapor I let go for 1 second then press then let go,I milaana the button for a few seconds then let go and inhale until vapor stops.
m3 hotter screw with a male to male adapter no basket screen loading .25 roughly.
Works great and has surprisingly good battery life for a single 18650 cell.
Loose screw fix is take base off unscrew screw epoxy the base.

Yeah I mean I dont even know if it has to be "fixed" or if its just something I'll have to be aware of, tightening the screw down before use/storage etc. to keep the pick and batt cover in place.

Thanks for the pointer on the battery, thats something completely new to me also. I mean, the batt in the TM and my IQ2 I've always just charged internally and they're regulated so thats something else I've had to keep in mind. I did pick up an external charger and a couple batteries in addition to the 2 the Mi3 came with, so I should be okay on that. But asking about the polarity orientation was something I completely forgot to do so thank you!

Typically with the TM at least, I've been using it with more so on the lower temp range to stretch a bowl/just kind of stay slightly in the clouds without getting too sedated. At night I bump it up and clear a stem in a few bigger hits before bed. We'll see what I like with the Milaana!

Thats actually a great visualization, thanks! Ill definitely keep that in mind.

Appreciate it! It seems like everybodys got different methods that work for them with the timing/inhaling. Just one of those devices I'll have to spend a lot of time with...oh no...what a shame...

Is there any special epoxy I should be looking at for the base?

Loctite EA 9017 is medical grade and works great! about $12

If you're talking about the safety pick and battery hatch being loose, when you turn the screw, that is normal? You're supposed to be able to turn that top handle screw to loosen up those pieces so you can turn them, then you can tighten them up when battery is in or for storage like I do... If I'm not mistaken, I think the bottom screw would come out and then you would be able to see where the top of the main screw is that goes up through to connect the battery... That would be the one to replace, but yeah don't do it! lol

Also by the way, we put positive end down, so we can better protect that terminal, the negative end is a little more robust so it can handle the constant swiping of the battery hatch if necessary (venting risk wise it wouldn't matter, because either way it's going to come back at you, theoretically lol I don't think there's a single case of a battery venting in a Milaana that has been made public, if so it's probably someone embarrassed they used to knock off cell!)

Oh yeah so I was confused then. I thought that screw securing the pick and hatch wasn't supposed to be adjustable...didnt occur to me that it could be an internal screw you have to take the base off to secure/fix. That makes a lot more sense.

I probably could have figured that out by watching some milaana videos but to be honest I hate watching instructional videos lol. Sometimes I make things a lot more difficult for myself than they need to be?

Makes sense about the polarity. I guess that top cap is the part thats less robust? Seems pretty straight forward. But yeah I would think if they vent theoretically you're fucked no matter which way the polarity is. At least I'm pretty confident my cells are fine...

Now, I'm confused, because I thought there had been a minor issue with the top screw (the guitar pick & batt cover tightener) -- or more precisely, with the the post that the knurled nut tightens on to. Was there never an issue there? Or is that connected to the long screw that comes up from the bottom, as-in related issue to the thing that may require epoxy?
Not having taken one apart (no need, so far!) I mainly only know what I've read here. I've not had any need yet for any of Ryan's informative videos.
I mostly want a vape to just work and not have to become an expert on it's build and quirks.

I didn't bring up battery venting to implicate Milaana in the least. I mentioned better protection of the positive end when down. The positive end is where the sparks usually will fly if venting occurs, and while the battery chamber does only have one opening, I would still prefer to have my face farther from that positive end.

I have had a battery vent in a drawer, it was not a knockoff, but it had been mishandled and I did not see it; I should have been more careful with the handling. But it could as easily have vented in a device, through no fault of the device.
