Discontinued Hopper io

I have SS and a Ti hoppers so I understand where you’re coming from. As and when I buy an IO I’ll be getting the Ti. I’m not sure that the additional 5 watts of power will be noticeable but I may feel I was missing out without it :2c:

So, if you like SS order one, right? But unlike the original hopper, there seem to be real designed differences in performance between the two io versions. Whether those difference amount to much in the grand scheme of things is an unknown.

The only "design" difference is the rating of the heater...65W vs 75W and I would bet you every penny I have that both types of heaters come off of the same assembly line and the difference is post production testing and binning them by performance.

WTF, the OG GH is 45W and can destroy any flower put in it when working properly.

Ti for me all the way, SS will set off metal detectors and I'm pretty sure I'll be taking my Grasshopper into some concerts.
Titanium won’t set off metal detectors? I’ve never tried to bring my Ti Hopper to a concert and would love to do so or send it around a detector with my phone, etc and pass it off as a pen. I’ve passed around a Fury 2 and not gone through a metal detector since it looks like an inhaler even with the protective cover. Curious what others’
experiences have been with Hoppers going through metal detectors. Weather is getting warmer and it’s almost concert season (except this damn Coronavirus may wreak havoc on them too as it has the sports world).

I’ve brought both the Hopper and F2 with me on planes, domestically and internationally, and no issues as items in carry ons. Of course no flower :leaf: flies however...:peace:

I like how the SS feels in the hand better but Ti cools down so much faster I think it's worth the trade off. Also those extra 5 watts, as little difference as it might make really pushed me towards Ti. If it's reliable and lasts me more than a week or two I'll probably end up getting an SS to go with it anyway.

Old & In the Way
Ti for me all the way, SS will set off metal detectors and I'm pretty sure I'll be taking my Grasshopper into some concerts. My OG Hopper is Ti too but I haven't tried it lately as I'm waiting on new batteries and GH condoms.
There are a small number of SS parts in a Ti built hopper. And some metal inside the front end that definitely isn't Ti (maybe copper? --and I'm talking Grasshopper front end; they may have changed this in hopper.io). Some copper is being introduced in the new back end. Then there's the battery. Idk if these alone or together are enough to set off an airport metal detector...

Has anyone ever had their Ti Grasshopper set off a metal detector?

Come to think of it, mine went through a conveyor at Madison Square Garden, in a case with my glasses. The attendant opened the case, saw the glasses and Grasshopper, closed the case, handed me my things and waved me on! No bells or buzzers, but it didn't actually go through the metal detector.

No, I’ve never taken mine through a metal detector. I’d simply hand it around one, in a sleeve or case, along with my cell phone. What sort of conveyor did you put yours through? Mines been through X-ray machines at airports, empty of course, and nary an issue domestically or internationally (to Amsterdam :D).

I can’t imagine a Hopper wouldn’t set off a metal detector but I’m curious too if someone did. That’s why I’d just pass it around one not to set it off - and carry flower on my person (not on an airplane though I’ve done that a long time ago but not recently). Concentrates are another matter...:peace:

I haven’t tried taking a Hopper through a metal detector but I have tried taking a Pax Era through metal detectors at a major theme park. Once it went through undetected and once it was detected. Given that track record with a Pax Era, which is tiny compared to a Hopper, I would never try bringing a Hopper through.

I do fly frequently with my Hopper in checked luggage, always with a clean chamber. But that’s pretty low risk.

Always pass the hopper in the basket with wallet and keys. And I always fly with my clean hopper in my carryon stuff. I (used to) travel a lot and I've even had the extra tear your luggage apart screening. They just look quickly at my "pen" and move on. I keep my batteries in the Ziploc that HL sends, and they're bundled in a pen case with a couple other pens and my hopper.

Ditto in most respects. I’d rather pass the Hopper with the phone than have it set off a metal detector causing more attention. Not that I’ve tried or did, but I do believe it would. I’ve always put my cleaned Hopper and batts in a carry on item, never an issue. I don’t think these types of batteries are permitted in checked baggage, at least domestically. :peace:

Almost there...
Last time I was this excited about a vape I was waiting for the original Milaana to go up for sale. I can't stop checking this thread :mental:

Same here!!!
Not sure what I will do when a video finally surfaces either... So keen to see this Instant On Technology!
Will this be the one vape to rule them all???
Time will quickly tell if the reliability issues have been checked in real life, hard daily usage trials.
I hope they have been as the Hopper is the ONLY consistent battery vape I ever use and I have a drawer full of portables...

This damn Covid-19 is putting a damper on my spirits as I foresee a later release date now...

I'm optimistic since they say they already have all the parts in house and all they need to do is assemble. They're such a small company they may still keep stuff moving along. Based on everything I know about HL that won't be the case and it will be delayed but I can dream at least.

Batteries are the big question as Hopperlabs last said they didn't know how many they would be getting. I hope whatever they do get meets their QC standards and devices can be sent out. Not that I'm waiting on one (yet) but all you die hard fans deserve your shiny toys with the tremendous amount of support you've shown them.

I hope they'll ship the io without a battery if that's what has to happen. I've got 6 good ones and an AC adapter coming from @maxvapor710

Sorry about that. I am not sure why you would be on the list more than once. The system is only supposed to be going through emailing each person one time. Please PM your email.

You have the opposite problem it appears. PM or email support! Thanks.
@Hopper Labs I have requested a refund multiple times through support@grasshoppervape.com with no answer. I am no longer interested in the grasshopper io or battery charger and have not received a refund or replacement for 3 batteries totaling $42 you guys told me to immediately discard once I received them. Please issue a refund ASAP, thank you

I have the exact same issue. Made an account just to say this so it gets noticed. I have reached out to both support@grasshoppervape.com and support@thehopper.io for almost a week and absolutely zero response on cancellation or refund of my order.

I will be filing a complaint with that Better Business Bureau. If I still don't get a response, I will take them to court in Colorado. I have nothing but money and time.
