Same here... Sometimes the LED flashes red once (as it should), and sometimes that first flash is BOTH red and blue together, once. I've wondered if that is a sign of lurking doom. When it doesn't flash at all, it is apparently attributed to the fact that USB charging should be with the AC adapter end connected last.

I'd be concerned of a toothpick snapping off. I've used various metal pokers and never have that worry

does not this scratches you hopper chamber... I use touthpicks or stalks from my herb... after emptying my chamber I wipe it with a piece I did cut from an old t-shirt... and my chamber looks like new... never needed ISO... I only dump my mouthpiece in ISO from time to time...

I also have a clay sculpting tool I got at a craft store. Haven't used it on the gh yet. I got it to clean my pax2 oven.

I just slide it gently and not using the sharp point in any way that would assuredly scratch anything. But they are nice because they are indestructible- and friggin' sharp, so careful while handling them.

The only possible danger is spacing out and not waiting until the unit has completely cooled before sticking the nylon bristles in there, but I've got some little routines I have in place to keep that from happening.

I dig the bottle brush idea... I have the smaller diameter "sets" of those nylon things; I've bunched two or three together to fit into the chamber to do the same thing you mention...

One of these days I'll follow the directions I saved somewhere on how to post pics. This is not going to be that day. Sorry.

But I can tell you this: the smaller brush came with the Pinnacle Pro and the larger one came with the Digital Focus Pro (you can see it in one of the pics on that page).

A quick search also reveals this and this as two possibilities. But I didn't even check to see the diameters on those. For all I know, they could be for baby bottles. Yeah, I'm a little unfocused at the moment. Wish it was GIM-related, but sadly, it's not.

Well, you certainly know how to post links!

Actually I have those, and to illustrate my meaning, those brushes lack that "cushion" I tried to describe at the very tip. Imagine a brush that was exactly the same size as a cotton swab, same shape, but the cotton is instead tiny nylon bristle.

I just realized though... the chamber screen virtually never gets clogged because the air flow is away from the screen. Which is why the MP screen gets cloggy sometimes. So maybe I'm being too anal about that brush. Yep. That's what I'm thinkin' now.

My favorite cleaning brush is the one I got with my CFX:

It works well in the chamber and mouthpiece. And it has bristles on the end that help clean the screens, they're a little scattered but there's enough to do the job. It's the closest thing I've seen to the q-tip form factor in a nylon brush. And the handle is ergonomic and gives a better grip than some other brushes I've got with vapes.

That brings up a good point, it would be nice if Hopper Labs would include such a tool with the Grasshopper. A lot of other vaporizers come with more accessories. Just a simple cleaning brush would be nice.

A packed load will be harder to empty than a loosely filled load. I found that at first it was hard to empty the chamber but once it was "seasoned" a little bit it became much less of a problem. It is easiest to empty when the chamber is still warm.

Noticed that last night. As soon as I'd finished I emptied a packed load with a flick of the wrist while it was still warm and thought how much easier it was.

A toothpick would probably work to help you loosen your spent oven load too. I wouldn't trust it in the mouthpiece though.

As a cabinetmaker, my go-to tool for Hopper is the wooden toothpick. It is non-marring. Only time I put a dental tool in is to very carefully clean debris from threads in mp, if necessary. I think any metal tool could do damage as easily as a toothpick.

Does anyone have issues with the hopper's bowl threads? I just cleaned things up the other day and it appears as if I can't fully thread the mouthpiece on without going really hard; there's a small gap to where the complete seal can be.

Doesn't seem to be affecting performance, but not normal.

As suggested, most likely you have a loose screen, though also possible that gunk is built up on threads inside mp. Soaking in alcohol may not be enough to clean threads. Loosening screen (remove and replace) helps clear threads as well. If you cannot remove it, there's a chance that it is not a loose screen problem, just a gunk problem.
When I've done a 10 or 20 min. iso soak, and even after swabbing inside of mp, there is still residue that comes out when I shove and turn paper towel into alcohol-wet mouthpiece.
We need more cleaning information from HL! Next blog post, after the holidaze?

@vapviking @sk8man121 I been having same screen problems and its because it was lose, today my threads did start getting pretty tight so I just used a dry cotton swab on the inside of the mouthpiece after just pulling hot air through or actually finishing a bowl and that left them smooth like new

I am on day 7 now and no iso cleaning yet, going to see how far I can take it with just hot cleaning, though I am looking for "blue tac" for the back piece threads

because I am planning out my travel case and have a very specific idea in mind or the battery bank in the bottom of an Pelican case, then foam insert over it, the only thing visable is hopper, two canisters, mouth piece extension and a battery charger with a place for spare battery

but because this is multi day case it needs to maybe have space for water tool ?

I love making travel cases ... I love it so hard

but anyone here do backpacking?, ,maybe even ultralight and thru-hikes ?

I do light backpacking not ultralight because I want some comfort and the hopper is allowing me so many things and one of the big selling point for me

Best dry cooler for the GH I've tried. I enjoy long 20 to 30 second draws, and there's some voodoo going on in there that allows them. Voodoo is the technical term. The serial number 13 was my first clue.

Very small. Very light. I chose the bead blast finish for the look and feel. The GH condom fits snug in the bowl and it stays put during and after session. Good mouthpiece shape, too.

Actually, I'd recently taken to using ISO with the nylon brushes... Especially when the MP is soaking, I will use them instead of a pipe cleaner (that comes later, final steps).

The reason I use ISO with them is partly because, using them dry, I find they get gunky from resins. A little ISO keeps them minty fresh!

I find myself checking these FC threads more often than I check news sites, because I just can't bear to look. I can only muster so much angst, so for the timebeing, I've been directing it towards Hopper Labs rather than things that really matter.




I wish you luck and hope that happens... but my order status showed an estimated ship date of "November 2016", even when we were halfway into December (and originally was April 2016), so... don't get your hopes up too high.

Just call me Lucky Lou! I knew the deal when I ordered. It'll show when it shows. It's a little surprising they offer a shipping estimate with their history.

I have a technical question about a working GH. I used to be able to charge my unit using my iPhone charger. I can still recharge the unit plugging into the USB port on my computer, but the direct AC charge doesn't seem to work.

One thought is that there seems to be some substance to the thinking that, in the event that you plug Hopper to a charger and light does not come on, try unplugging the far end of cord from wall (or adapter) and then back in.
Maybe let us know...

Thanks! That actually worked for me in the past, but did not today. Perhaps it has something to do with the age and usage of the battery itself. That would be the only fundamental element that might have changed over time. The unit is functioning normally in every other respect, so I suppose I should consider myself lucky if the worst thing I ever experience is that I have to charge from the USB port on one of my computers.
