Somewhere North of The Wall
Unfortunately there are no bike shops anywhere close to me, but I appreciate the advice. I'm gonna go to a hardware store at some point soon and look at springs there, but if that doesn't work out maybe I could order one of these quick release things off the internet and tear it down
Shit man, I'll get ya one and post it to you.
PM me your address.

I suggested the spring from a bicycle wheel quick release skewer some time ago.

I tried it and it worked great.
I 'stretched' the conical spring along its axis, and also 'opened up' the largest loop at the base of the cone.

It turns out that the axial stretch was completely unnecessary, as it made the spring strong enough to propel my Ti-woody right out of the 'stash (vertically!) upon opening, SO DON'T BOTHER DOING THAT.

Opening up the largest coil of the spring served to hold the spring in the bottom of the 'stash.
Only open the bottom coil enough that it is very slightly larger than the hole for your VC.

I used a pen which would just fit into the 'stash to push the spring down into the bottom of the hole.

I tried it with another spring that I hadn't stretched along its length, and that worked perfectly.
It also completely eliminated any rattling while walking.

The only reason I didn't stick with it is that I feel no need to have my VC 'pop-up', and I'm not that bothered by the very minimal rattle without a spring.

Ask at any bike shop and they should be able to give you one of these springs:

Is this the same thing?

Yes, it's custom. I had them make the tool wide and flat enough to adjust my torches with so I don't have to carry a separate tool. I thought about just going ahead and getting an ER, but I have basically no access to concentrates and I like the unbroken aesthetic better. The only thing I have to do now is find an appropriate spring to go in the vapcap chamber bottom. All my old dugouts had such, but I have given them all away now so I have nothing to scavenge

Does the standard have a larger herb compartment than the ER?

Just ordered an OG from Puffitup. I love the glass, and I'm a bigger threat to misplace than break.

Figured I needed VC in my life because my Evo is getting repaired and I wanna try the @Stu certified heating method.

I thought when it came out that the VC would be a niche vape for micro dosing users. Little did I know it would turn out to be my go-to for when I want to impress smokers!

Okay I have just tried the omnivap with the short 18 mm VonG in the D 2020 bubbler and it is working really well, and very easily. With the VonG setup there is very little draw resisitance and good airflow. It was really comfortable, and generated very good hits.

I am heating the cap with the quad torch, which is much more comfortable in my hands, and it is easier to turn it with the VonG, than with the thinmer bodies.

I heated at the lower end of the cap until click. I am taking one very long extended but efforltess hit, holdimg in for a few seconds, and by then the cool down click comes, not too soon, just perfect so I used the whole time it was at temperature.

It went a few cycles and there is still a bit left, packed full, not squashed too much.
Secomd and third cycles, huge clouds really with no effort with this setup.
And it is very smooth and cool. No throat irritation, although it does get on my chest a bit.

The effect is really good, I can see why you all like it. I am managing to use it this way and it is easy and comfortable, and therefore a joy. Very stoned on top of herborizer earlier.

Nice! @VaporChase. Love the mouthpiece on that! Hell the whole kit is fabulous:tup: Enjoy the further testing for the betterment of mankind and all:rockon:

I just discovered 2.5 grams of scissor hash I had been saving is vaping outstandingly in my ti burly. Gonna be a nice vacation that I'm just now starting. See you guys on the other side:brow:

:leaf:

I too have been using scissor hash in the vap cap and ohh man best experience yet with it. my electric vapes really don't tackle hashy keify substance near as well.

I'm feeling like the only person who doesn't restrict the airflow. I've tried, but there is no airflow at all if I cover the hole. My lungs don't enjoy the experience of feathering it either. Fully open is where it's at for me! If it feels restricted at all, I clean it with iso, and it's all good again. :D Gotta love the Vapcap in all its versatility.

Damn you, party liquor
Hell yeah @Milkytime this thing is the SHIT for hash. I lost count of the number of cycles I got today off a tiny ball of scissor hash. I'm using a cut down S&B concentrate screen and then a ti screen to cap it to keep it from melting and sticking to the cap. Works like a champ!! Better hits off hash than I ever got when I combusted hash. Wow. Just wow.

I LOVE vaping hash from my 14mm Ti VonG.

I usually make a nice even bed of flowers and then take a bit of Afghan Hash flatten it into a thin pancake and pop it onto the flowers. Fantastic, first time every time!!!

I have not been posting much here but that is the sign of another satisfied owner more than anything. One thing I have started to appreciate is doing small loads of maybe .02 of medium ground herbs. I am finding I get 2 thick tokes per cycle & 2 cycles before it is spent.

For anyone on the fence about this I can only reiterate that the hype is indeed real be it a $35 OG or a $160 OV it does not matter one iota.

Just a PSA guys and gals, if you take any kind of a break and come back to your vapcap, be sure to check if it's loaded before hitting it. I just had a frustrating 5 cycle sesh with an empty chamber.
I recently did it for the first time, 2.5 cycles. I normally don't get much vapor the first cycle, but in hindsight there was also a suspicious lack of flavor.

The second cycle failed to produce clouds, I thought it was because I had my weaker strain loaded and didn't heat long enough.

I started to heat again and then realized it might be a good idea to check the chamber. Suddenly it all made sense.

Squiby, seeing as you have some Durban coming (hopefully, my fingers are crossed for no frost!). And you are lucky enough to have access to wonderful hash, have you ever tried vaping durban with hash?

My uncle grew durban for years. One year I had some pollen, and when I mixed it with the durban to vape the effect was just magical. There was something totally different about that combination, like when you put 2 things together and you get something totally unexpected and unrecognizable.

So last night I tried the ommi again as normal (with glass vody, no VonG).
And it was working really well for me, no hassle at all. Lots of clouds and easy to draw. I packed it full again with a 0.1 load I think. I kept the airflow right open and still got great vapor, but also played around with the carb and got good results as well.

No need for a set technique I see, you can just chop and change as you go. I wish my allergies didnt hold me back and I could be just like many of you and hit it for leisure at free will, any time, I can see the fun aspect for sure!

I was closing the carb and also feathering the carb with my old, multi-cycle technique. It's the new single-cycle heating technique with the triple inline that is allowing me to go wide open and still get the vapor density I am looking for.

I agree that heating it normally does feel like work sometimes when going for the multi-cycle extractions. It can be an enjoyable ritual sometimes. The single-cycle extraction is a totally different experience. Both are valid.
Ok, somewhere I missed the single cycle extraction method. Can you describe please?

Here's my posts along with the first post that gave me the idea:

Try holding it so the flames are side on instead of the three flames going top to bottom of the cap if that makes any sense.

I did this with the inline triple and all I can say is wow! I heated towards the bottom of the cap, the mouthpiece side.

I got a wonderfully thorough single heat cycle extraction with massive clouds. I checked the chamber afterwards and I could have maybe squeezed a tiny hit but it wouldn't have been worth the taste in my opinion.

Using the inline triple torch sideways gives you the precision of a single torch with quicker heating and less spinning.

For that single cycle extraction last night I had the flames almost to the very end of the mouthpiece side of the cap, and the cap was in the middle of the outer flame if I'm not mistaken.

I would be careful heating past the click if you are heating near the bottom of the cap. I heated past the click for maybe one second, I think two seconds would probably be too much and you might combust. I would recommend stopping at the click for the first try or two, and if it's not extracting thoroughly enough adjust your technique accordingly.

I have never supplemented Durban Poison as it is such a great energy boost all on its own. Mind you, I will be making some bubble from the trim, so there will be plenty to experiment with soon.

Wow is all I really have to say about this vape. For the money there is no substitute. Right now im using a bic flame lighter while I wait for my torches to arrive and so far its great. Im making sure the flame is evenly spread throughout the cap and heating about 3 seconds after the click and getting great hits. Last night I concentrated the heat near the bottom of the cap as explained for better hits, HOLY SHIT! thats where the magic is if your looking for heavy hits. I was 99% positive I combusted because this hit was massive, one of the biggest dry vapor hits ive ever taken. After the coughing spree I finally checked the chamber and it was a nice dark brown without a single spec of black. Placing an order for a woody TI right now.
