Who knows how they go about thier process honesty haha

I need to get my bowl packs down with this thing, as well as temp and draw speed. I have been packing it full but very loosely. I don't pack it down. I get at least 1 or 2 big rips around 3.5-4 setting. I just can't seem to get 5+ rips per pack. And my herb is pretty good. Anyone have recommendations on extending the length of a pack? Like what kinda pack, draw strength/length, and temp is ideal of you wanna share one bowl with someone. Or if you just don't wanna repack as often? I know flavor will be bad but I care more about multiple potent hits.

If it's a full pack, start the temp much lower. You can think of the dial as setting how long you want the bowl to last in a sense. Higher temps will extract quicker, but you also get more airflow with a less than full pack, where upper temps tend to work better. Ofcourse the sixe of each hit is a factor too

So can loosening the cap a screw or two really improve the titanium gh's efficiency?

I don't see how extraction efficiency could improve by introducing fresh air. The airflow though the vaporization chamber remains unchanged, the fresh air is mixed after.

When I first started using an mflb many years back, I noticed my girlfriend consistently got better hits and didn't even take as long a hit timewise.

Her technique was she didn't fully contact with her lips to the mflb (no straw, just the main body opening). I started doing this, which is in effect mixing fresh air at the lips with the vapor, and my hits improved so much I continued on with that draw technique. So effective it is the mflb was my main vape for quite some time, generally until the vapman came along.

The vapman also mixes fresh air, and some people were plugging the fresh air intakes and claiming vapor was thicker. Not all agreed to that and my personal experience didn't either, and now years later all my vapman vapes are unplugged.

But even though I realized the fresh air was cooling the vapor and making it more palatable, I also detected this efficiency improvement, which is more noticeable with the mflb than the vapman, but I think quite noticeable with the vapman as well

I can see how it would help heat issues (both vapor and mouthpiece) but I'm not sure how it improves efficiency.

So how does that fresh air mixing improve extraction efficiency?

With the mflb I understood that adding in a second air stream acts as a shock absorber for both. What I mean is that if suction suddenly increases (so you start breathing in faster), that 100% suction change is split between the two streams. So before what would be a significant suction stream change to one, now is something less for both.

Also especially with the mflb its easier to find the vapor producing sweet spot this way, and once found easier to keep the sweet spot in focus.

There is something else going on though, and it's harder to capture in an explanation because I don't have a working theory of why it's happening, but do notice that hits are more vaporful than without the mixing.

Something in addition to the ability to find and maintain the sweet spot is happening.

It's something that is making the sweet spot sweeter, sweeter than if there was no mixing. So the fact that the streams are mixed and therefore shock-absorbed, and steadier in flow rates, is allowing more efficient extraction. Maybe it's sort of like the difference between peeling the layers off of an onion versus taking bites out of it.

Perhaps the steady temperature results in a more efficient extraction in some way at the molecular level where steady temps peel away versus bite away? This seems a plausible theory based on some desktops like the Herbalizer.

Makes for a more comfortable less harsh hit also... good post!

Wouldn't mixing the vapour path with air make your hit way more comfortable Therefore enabling you to relax the lungs more and hold the vapor in longer? This would allow more absorption to happen making it more efficient?

Wouldn't mixing air with your pull on the GH drastically cool down the temperature of your load? If so, this would allow you to relax the lungs and hold your pull longer enabling more time to absorb the THC molecules? This in itself would increase efficiency...

@kingfisher: Sir, thanks for your nice reply.
I HAVE read the WHOLE thread. Did you?
Did I asked for kinds of failures?? Dont think so.
Side over side your called probs and others, warranty claims, guessing what cause the failure, first aids but no real technical clarification. Thats the only reason for my question. Thought, this would be obviously to everybody reading my question after having read the whole thread? Dont seem so. Otherwise I would go with you.

@Kalessin: May be. I would give it a try
Sorry, may be as a German I could have a different view on things?
Kind of german "Tiefgründigkeit"?

I don't think it's uncommon for manufacturers to be a little secretive about their process and quality control. It would really slow them down to have to test and explain every warranty return. Hopefully they know what the problems are and are narrowing down the causes. I am a little shy about the product, not knowing exactly what's killing some hoppers.

I gave you what you asked for. The technical failure cause, as hopper labs has been willing to share. If you had actually read the threads you would know why your comment "fatalism of hopper addicts" was so insulting. Many of us have been pestering hopper labs for more information. What should be much more obvious to anyone who has read more than 10 pages of the thread... HL Is a crap company.

General riddle guessing? Is it magic?
Is there really none of you warrantyresenders who asked for the technical failure cause?

Soo whatever tell me you have read the whole thread. I've read both of the whole hopper threads. Oh and the shipping thread and warranty thread oh aND the reddit page. Not that it matters, but I think you're a condescending lier.

So.... I'm finding that my mouthpiece screen keeps loosening. Can anyone suggest the best tool or method to tighten the screen and avoid the issues?

I watched the video with its "fix" but I don't have those tweezers and don't know where to get them. Plus I'd prefer to not buy another tool, if something around the house will work. I tried a cake tester (that I use on my pax2 to help remove its screen), but its diameter is too wide. I guess so far, what I've used hasn't cinched it in tight enough.

Any help or suggestions are much appreciated.

And if this is my biggest gh issue, I can live with it and consider myself lucky!

Try a fork, needle nose players, two kabobs, two toothpicks, two needles, corn on the cob skewers.

I've just deleted several posts and handed out a warning point and I haven't even had coffee yet....

Fine folks, take the bickering to pm. It doesn't belong in this thread. And those of you who cannot seem to 'be nice' on this forum will find themselves with warning points.

Let me also remind you all of this:

My screen is becoming a pain, loosens easily but is a fucker to do up
I'm using tweezers but I think I've bent/distorted the screen
Might just take it out

Then you'll suck material right into your mouth from the oven! I like the idea of corn on the cob pokers. I may have to try that one.

Getting repeat dodgy units from HL might be irritating, seemingly unfair etc. but it is not inevitable and it's not common.
The few people that have experienced this don't chime up too often, suggesting they are happily hopping and veering away from snarky remarks.

Loving these Hoppers. They get a lot of use through water just because it is quick and easy. Now my first vape(s) to grab for stealth and travel now too. I personally can rip it on 4 dry without a lot of issues but the vapor is roo hot at 5 even for me.
I'm VERY happy your loving your gh's after so much inexplicable delay in delivery to you! Guess it was worth the wait. I know it was for me!

It would be nice if GHL sold the screen as an accessory extra, like Pax does with their "screen". Has anyone asked them about screen replacements?

I know a few others mentioned it in the past, but last night I was playing around with some of my Silicon tubing and found it works GREAT as a whip for the hopper - takes a bit of effort to insert the hopper, but I'm getting huge clouds, and my lips aren't burning! :D

Now I need to dig for a nice glass mouthpiece to pair with the whip

I think they might consider selling a screen and a fitting tool at some stage. The screens are not covered by warranty.

However, they either replaced my screen, or intensely cleaned it when my unit was returned after combustion due to failed heat sensors.

@Ratchett I have a length of silicone just like that, brb

*Can confirm that I can't believe I hadn't tried that yet!

EQ glass mouthpiece is nice, I would suggest a bigger one so you can see the vapour - because I was questioning if I was getting any for a good 15 seconds before breathing out a massive cloud.
Amazing, I should have realised the GH was a 10/10 whip vape.

And it's portable and you can easily hold it up by the hose, takes some force to put it on there, but it holds it nicely.
Cheers Ratchett!

This mod makes the GH a noodle of destruction hahah!

I put a screen on top of oven then screw cap on
I only use solids not green so without it I suck loads up to the top screen where it just melts
So don't really need it

Finally starting to get a feel for this unit. I probably use 2-3 packs per battery. If you're getting the low battery red flash lights, is it still dishing out heat power to take a draw at the higher temps?

I've been using a regular fluff like grind and packing full or almost full, but loosely. It's gotta be at most a 0.1-0.15g per pack. This thing is definitey pretty efficient. I'm using about the same or less than I would with my solo and I think I feel the effects more with the hopper. Couple draws on temp 3, one or two draws on temp 3.75, one or two draws on 4.25, one or two on temp 5 to wrench out the last bits. Flavor and vape temp on those last few draws are not good, but I don't mind because I'll still get clouds and (I think?) still extracting the last bits of THC.

Definitey starting to really like this thing, I think there is a slight learning curve with it regarding bowl pack size and draw strength/length and temp setting.

I noticed a lot of comments on having to clean the threads of the GH as well as difficulty to load.

Still waiting form my GH so I can't comment on that but does anyone think this would help?

Maybe, but it seems like there are more pieces and more difficult than the 3d studios funnel.

I have one of those and some of his doob tubes. Works great for filling up the gh in the boat on a windy lake.

I don't think the kit is worthwhile honestly.
It's easier enough to load ground herb straight in.
If using kief I scoop it in, if using a powerdery grind I use a folded business card to tip it in.
Very simple really, I don't think that adapter makes it any easier?

Cases look alright if you like 3D printed stuff, the first one looks pretty functional
