With the discount I'll be ordering on Thursday, assuming this time the discount doesn't get complained away

Thanks T-Dub!

It was definitely a cumulative effect. I saved a little less than $8 which allowed me to purchase an extra Electroless Nickel Plated Mouthpiece. One of the big things was watching Nate's disassemble video. He is engaged in this community and is extremely responsive to our needs. This product, and the ensuing "Revolution" hopefully will solve many logistical problems for me. Was watching the liquid concentrate video, this is for glycerine liquids, not concentrates, but this has opened up a new world to me. I don't use nicotine but I found a site where you can order the e-liquids with no nicotine so this might be fun to experiment with in the future. I'm thinking after meals minty vapor . . .

Edit: Can't believe it. These guys have been open an hour this morning (a Monday no less) and I already have a shipping confirmation and tracking# on my package. NICE.

We have created a coupon code for the FC cmmunity. This will get FREE SHIPPING for up to $20, or a $20 discount of a more expensive shipping option.

Why did we not offer this earlier? Well, we have had increased demand for the ThermoVape. This increased demand allows us to increase production and run more efficiently. We want to pass this savings onto the forum community.

The Coupon code is: FCSHIPFREE

Yes, that is our gift to the FC community. If you order and pay for a extended mouthpiece we include a different goodie that is of equal or greater value.

Things are looking up!
Whoever posted(I'm sorry I looked quite a few pages back in the thread, couldn't find you) the stirring technique of unscrewing the cap all but one rotation and shaking the load in the now expanded chamber, please take a bow.
This has really kept me from combusting and produces a far more even ABV. Clean, simple, and smart. Bravo!

Sessnet- Good call on the non-stick! My contents start quite sticky and even after brushing the cap clean, after a few sessions I have to resort to scraping or a brief iso scrub with my paint brush.
Nice model!

My technique has improved, clouds are increasing and the heat build up in my hand is no longer an issue. I took it outside for a walk last night and really got the performance I was looking or out of it. 5-6 solid clouds, stirred with the cap method and got 3 more, another stir got me a final 1 and a half, and there was battery life left. As technique develops and user error/blunder decreases, I expect I'll coax a bit more from it.

I haven't gone thru a battery before finishing a session yet, so even though I hope a future model may use a different battery system, the batteries haven't been an issue.

I like being able to strip it down and put it back together with no tools. That mixed with it's touted "durability" (come on ThermoVape Guys, I'm still not convinced, where's the re-entry test?) is pretty damned innovative. I like simple tech, believe in the "less is more" motto, and think the TV is a great example.
And it does matter to me that it is built completely in the US.
I look forward to future developments!

Thanks! It was fun making it AND using it at the same time :)

I wonder what ThermoVapes ideas are (or if they even saw my post). At the very least I think a rounded bowl would be easier to clean out with a finger (no tools).

Thank you for the suggestions Sessnet. I see the functionality. Right now I am optimizing the Revolution, and simultaneously ramping up production on the ThermoVape. Design revisions will certainly happen in the future, but unfortunately I can't squeeze one in the midst of make ~150,000 parts for the current version. Also note that any mirrored bowl design will add to the length of the device, and threads are pure fun.

Keep the ideas coming though! -they will certainly seep into my brainstorming sessions!

Curious if you guys at TET have considered giving the holes in the top cap a wider footprint to possibly give more even air flow through the herbs? Im no aerodynamic engineer but it seems like this could be a pretty easy fix for having to stir so often and possibly produce bigger clouds in the process, and all without having to redesign a major or expensive part :brow: if this works i'll take my design fee via paypal ;)

We tried ~10 different arrangements; bigger and smaller holes, more small, more big, some big, some small.. -and ultimately settled on the current arrangement.

Hi ThermoVape!

Do you have a real name? My name is Pete(r), just in case.

I understand one of the best things about the ThermoVape is being modular, and possibilities for upgrades and attachments - and that's what also makes the ThermoVape intriguing to me.

I think your product is nearly there in functionality and design, with the "perfect" version being just around the corner. If you can accommodate certain problems in the usage, you would have a bulletproof product. Speaking of bulletproof - that might be another video you can make :)

I want to buy another one as a spare. This "first version" unit was worth it for me so far!

However, using the ThermoVape, I see some problems that make me feel like it's almost there, but not yet. I think these problems can be solved by just taking them into consideration and making some changes - if technology allows it.

About the rounded bowl - I am OK with a tad longer mouthpiece - if it means I can scoop out my sticky vaporisable easily, and would buy/upgrade that piece if it was available.

I wanted to mention the major problems I see, in order of importance to me:

1. Having to reload. Unscrewing the device means you have to wait until it is cold, or risk frying fingers, and pieces of the ThermoVape coming apart. It seems as though the MFLB can hold a bit more - especially since it takes a fine grind. If it can hold more, hopefully it can be stirred some way inside (shaking- twisting etc), without having to reload the vaporisable. This is different from unscrewing to reload the batteries, which is a less messy operation. I would rather load the batteries twice for a load/bowl, than load the bowl twice on one set of batteries.

2. Cleaning out the vaporisable - especially if it is sticky. There is no brush included, and a fingernail/tip can't reach all the corners and holes. So it needs a brush or something. Maybe something that attaches? I've been using my MFLB brush, but I hesitate to use a plastic brush since the Bowl and top can be searing hot. Every several bowls I clean it out with alcohol - but it would be nice if everything just dumps out or could be brushed out easily. Maybe a natural (boars hair) brush or thin metallic brush - since plastic can melt.

3. Stirring the bowl. I don't like the fact that it doesn't heat everything evenly - but I am willing to forget that if I can do it manually. Maybe there can be some way to stir it with an extra (extended) piece. Or, something like the round bowl/non stick idea. I tried unscrewing, and shaking with cap on, but I don't know how much of a job it is doing. Dumping it out or mixing it in the bowl seems to be the only way I can see that it's being done right, even though it is messy and feels sloppy.

4. Indicator of when it is "ready". The only thing to go off of if it is "ready", is the hot air. Even the MFLB has a few indicators - and you can see see the vapor. It would be nice to know if the battery is 50% dead etc. It would be nice to know if it reached the desired or set temperature. I think some indicators would give this device a sentient quality, making it super pro. I realize many components might be sensitive electronics and would then fail on of your destruction tests, but I think with it being modular you would be able to come up with something. If one small part fails (temp sensor or LED light etc) hopefully just that can be replaced.

5. Spending time charging and changing batteries. This is basically a non-issue to me. I know how to recharge batteries. So what that we aren't in 2015 yet, I can wait. I know a PA might be around the corner. I just wanted to mention it since it's what I spend most my time on, and to show that I would rather have #1-3 fixed, and I can live with #4 and #5 :)

I really like the ThermoVape so far and since getting it, I have barely used my MFLB! The only time I've needed to use another vaporiser - is when there were more people around and more vapor was needed :)

Every day I use the ThermoVape - I feel like its #1 fan. :)

sessnet,
I have a question. Do the batteries on this slowly start to drain when they do go all the way out? I've noticed I never feel like I get proper hits towards the end even if it lights up. Like the very last two hits that light up. Is that because the batteries just don't have enough juice to properly heat up the bowl while they do still have enough to light the orange indicator? I was thinking that in the future it would be nice if there was some sort of audible beep or even an led on the outside that let you know when the batteries where about to go. I feel like the last few hits I always have open it up after each hit to make sure it's still lighting up.

It's Nate, and thank you very much for the kind words, everyone in the shop reads them and they give us the fuel to work these crazy hours!

I appreciate all of your recommendations and like most of them. But, like I said, design changes don't happen overnight. I won't go into the details of what it takes to bring a product from concept to market, but trust me, it takes an enormous amount of time. We have a series of product releases scheduled for the year, the last of which won't be ready until the holidays. So rest assured, notes are being taken, and everything that is feasible will be incorporated.

When will the revolution come out? maybe I'll keep this thing for vaping concentrates. So the Revolution is reusable? this may be an advantage to the one-time use omicron cartridge.

Supposed to be out by the end of the month at the latest from what I gather.

And from what he said about the revolution it will have a "chamber" to load concentrates, solid or full melt, into and will be cleanable and re-loadable just like the thermovape itself.

That's good to hear! I'll hold on it until the oil/concentrate attachment then, the herbal attachment really disappointed me.

I have mentioned before, short battery life, battery gets hot after only a few hits, and not able to vape evenly. I really hope future model will adjust this problem.

Thanks. I've almost pulled the trigger on this, but I think I'll wait just a bit longer. Looking forward to reviews of the revolution.

dont get me wrong, it still does the job quite nicely. I still get really high from the device. Used it in places that other portables will be noticed by others. By filling the bowl 1/2 full, im pretty satisfied, maybe I overfilled it previously. My expectation was too high for a product that's first in its class: Ecig-style herbal vaporizer.

More to the point, TV his own self day before yesterday said, "If all goes according to plan, the Revolution begins Late Next week!". I'm hoping he's right, his plans seem to be pretty well thought through and all so far. We're told parts are 'in production'......

Me too! I am interested in hearing about how efficient the concentrate attachment will be and how easy to clean etc. THe unit looks totally win though and I look forward to owning one! :p

PS- Hey Vaporninja- it's great to see another vapor enthusiast from Chitown! I always try to get people to try the latest vaporizers and stuff so cheers to you for being one of the vapor grounbreakers here in the midwest! We should start a Chicago Vapor club!!!

1. I can't wait for the Revolution - do you know about how much just the attachment will cost?

2. Any possible time table on when the ThermoVape herbal attachment can be modified to function easier? As in hold more, be easier to clean out and or stir/mix?

And a different question:

3. What can I put around the batteries to make them a little more snug in the compartment? I am not too fond of the rattling. I would put tape but I figure that will melt. Ideas?

The MFLB brush is a solder flux brush that is intended for use with hot surfaces. I can see how the LB brush would be helpful for cleaning, and I wouldn't hesitate to use mine with a ThermoVape even when hot. If I had a ThermoVape, of course.
