Strangely enough I've been looking into EDC lights as well. I just don't have the money. I like hiking in the woods and want something cheap that will really light up the woods for night hiking. Not sure the combo exists without it being a POS.[/quotehttphttp:

I own two of these babies, they are very small and quite powerful, and will fit easily in your pocket. It is about and inch shorter and about the same diameter as your T1.

I also ordered one of these from China a few days ago, much smaller and they are claiming the same output as the one above, with a CR123 battery, couldn't vouch for it, but for the money it was worth a shot.

Thanks. Added it to my watchlist for when I have some money. Is it really ultrafire or a knockoff? Either way if it works well it looks like a deal. Thank you!

And hey if TV releases the 18650 solution I'll have a charger and batteries laying around :)

Hey Dark, I found a bag that seems to suit your needs but only found in this write up. It's an EDC bag by Eddie Bauer. Look good for hiking etc.
http://nomadicengineer.blogspot.ca/2011/06/new-edc-bag.html
The guy who wrote it up got his used. Looks pretty much great for a day out for sure.
Hard to see the whole set up but appears to have many smaller pouches. (which is what you want??) And maybe your lunch too??
Oh forgot, the flashlight, this one I was out bid on. It's the new T6 1600 Lumen super blinding light. Always look for T6 now as more Lumens for the power.

My max bid was $14. BooHoo

I've been using this one lately:

Cheap enough, well built, great performance and it uses the 18650s I've got around from this other stuff. The multi mode is actually nice (it stays on the level you used last) and lets you save battery when you don't need to blind bears and stuff.

I wish it was a little smaller, but then it wouldn't use that big old battery or be that bright that long. I've grown kinda sour on the 14500 based ones, dim or short lived.

It says Ultrafire on the side, I am going to go out on a limb and say it is real, it is a bad ass light.

Just got my evolution today :) But I'm having trouble getting the outer delrin sleeve off of the heating core.... Can anyone help?

Duh.. my bad.

So basically the heating core wasn't connected to the chamber.. And the chamber is stuck inside the protective sleeve/mouthpiece.

Just killed that o-ring trying to get it out lol. I need to find some needlenose plyers. You think it'll still be usable if i can get the chamber out of the sleeve?

Could be, test to see if the heater glows.

And when you get the top out, see if it will press back onto the bottom and stick together at all, if it does I would try using it lol. Just make sure not to use the o-ring! (so it doesn't pull out again)

I would also email tv with the pictures and I'm sure they'll send you a new one

Ouch, the core pulled out. Not suppose to happen. It's a pressure fit and I would get a new replacement sent.
Meanwhile, if you have not touched the exposed element ends and can get the tube out of the Delrin, you might get it working till TV sends you a replacement. If all is still intact and element ends slipped through the upper two holes in the heater core. You can push the tube and chamber back togather. Put the heater core back in the handle (take the batteries out) push the tube back onto the chamber and tap it slowly until it's tight. Check for both elements firing.
Not fair it came like that and for sure get TV to send a replacement. Also, a danger is that if pushed two hard the element can get severed by the tube. This is the reason for single cord failures (IMHO)
What a bummer,

To take out the heater tube.
You can go in from the upper side. Take out the mouth piece. Find something that will push that UFO piece down through the top of Delrin sleeve. Not sure what will happen once pushed through but now it can be pushed on from the top. The UFO can be put back later, that I have done many times.

I will try that out... i was worried about damaging it at first but TV is sending me another one express mail. Very pleased with their customer service but it does indeed suck..

The heater does glow :) Sure the rest of the unit works fine. I am just hoping it'll get here before the weekend, need it for my hiking trip...

Ok got it out... about to try it out. But i thought someone said the new ufo mouthpiece (i got the teflon/PTFE High temperature plastic one) would fit right onto the chamber? Mine does not, it's too big :/ The smooth flow does though.

The EVO comes with it's own UFO and the other separate UFO is not needed when using the outer Delrin sleeve. You might have been reading about the sleevless mods.

EDIT: Sorry, think I mis-understood your question.
I just tried mine as I have that as well. It is a very tight fit initially with that mouth piece. I knew it is suppose to fit. (it is a standard 510) So I gave it a good push, now goes on and off no problem.

Hey, got it for $15.01. What is it with guys and flashlights?
I saw that 1600 Lumens and had to have it....LOL and the 18650 battery which I have tons of.
Had to have it.....And think the price is right for T6 technology.
If still interested he seems to have a few which go up daily. Here's all the stuff they offer:
