My cera officially bit the dust, I'm gonna do the foil test when I get off work to see if its the switch, I think it's time for cera to meet her maker lol. I ordered a flash vape today with express shipping so it's back to combusting till that arrives. Meh , shit happens .

OF=Old Fella??? If so, perhaps the Cera may be a good avatar lol (maybe only other Aussies will get this - not sure if this slang is used overseas)

I believe OF stands for Original Funkmaster... Haha, I think i know what it actually stands for but I wouldnt wanna spoil it or be wrong. I think this may deserve its own thread

Can someone tell me a little more about whats going on with the EL core I sent mine in about 2-3 weeks ago because it never worked. Zeki told me last week the were doing something new with the wiring to make it better but didn't really go into detail. I would just like to know what the issue was and how long until there done? Is there anywhere to buy a LR AVA atomizer?

A question for you battery experts: In the Cera FAQ on the TET website it says "Do not use an ICR Li-Co un-protected lithium ion, lithium cobalt batteries. Any battery has to be protected with a minimum 2C." How do I know if it is protected or not? What does the 2C part at the end mean? I know some guys on here ordered these batteries, myself included: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AKQQ990/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
How do I know that these are safe to use? Or if other batteries I look at in the future will be safe? I know the 18650 part matches but i'm sure there is more to it, right? Just want to make sure I treat my Cera right when she gets here this week.

Vaping is a way of life!
I noticed that the visible top ceramic heating element in my essential oil cartridge is crooked, so I poked it with a skewer and found that it's a bit loose. Is that normal?
Yes, I do believe its normal for the ceramic top wafer to be a bit loose to adapt to the changing temps!!!!!!!!

Those are fine, they work great actually. Me and alot of other people are stocking up on them because they arent in production anymore so who knows how much longer they will be available. I just bought 4 more I feel like a battery hoarder.

More to the point they were the number one choice in TV's testing, the batteries they originally sold. They would probably still sell them but as they are out of production they have shifted types now.

The safest practice is to buy from TV. Use of any battery type other than what they recommend is your call.

As has been stated, that's normal. I would just recommend being extremely careful poking that piece of ceramic though. I imagine It wouldn't take much to crack or chip a piece off, and it's a pretty integral component.

Happy Monday Everyone!

So big news for Ti! We got back a few assemblies with the new welded strap, having a couple of them endurance tested then a production run! Its looking pretty good though and gets completely away from solder on the body.

I estimate the remaining Ti orders/repairs will be out the door this week!

Cheers,

Tim

P.S. OF that is pretty sweet! Gets me thinking about a shorty body maybe in the future. :)

You mean Cera Mini, right? ;)

Not to badger you guys so much, but do you think we'll see the 510-Cera adapter any time in the next few months? I would love to be able to throw a CEO on top of my Ultra and stash my DART away for the Apocalypse  Thanks for keeping us updated, I like knowing that the news is coming straight from the source :)

Open question since I didn't see an answer last time I asked, but is the LL cart on the Ultra a possibility, or is it going to be getting the same performance as the Evolution? Even the Evo LV isn't exactly 3.7v Ultra friendly, I'm assuming the watt difference between LL and EO is the problem? Dunno if I could justify ~$315 for a new vape (even though I'd absolutely love it), $100 and the adapter is a bit more reasonable for me right now.

Do not buy your batteries from TV as it is twice as expensive as purchasing from the manufacturer.

Sound advice for some, but I was answering a specific question, and the topic was making the right choice of type. I'm talking safe choices, you're talking cheap. Both useful, but not always the same.

I'm also offering a non time specific bit of advice (those batteries will be gone very soon we're told), also I think important to the new guys?

My advice stands.

Were working on the mini, still finalizing the drawings, Dont really know how far out it will be. Anywhere from a month away to 3 months away.

I keep pushing the 510-Cera adapter to get drawn up, the new LQ cart and Mini are in line first tho... ;)

Cheers,
Tim

Yeah mine seems to have the same problem, still waiting on my repair to be sent back to me still. Any word on yours yet?

----

When we get our Ceras back will this copper strip problem ever come back again though? Or is this a bug that TV has sorted out now that a bunch of people has reported it and had to return their Ceras?

Really bummed about having my Cera out for repair more than I have used it, so far.

IIRC they have a new solder-less building procedure. It seems to be the biggest problem right now with the Cera, and they're definitely looking into it.

OF, you are not always right and I am not talking cheap. These are the same EXACT batteries. Why make it a safety issue when they are the same identical batteries? Just trying to help others save a buck. The Cera is quite expensive and so are the batteries. The only reason to buy batteries from TET is because OF says so. LMAO!

I obviously didn't do a good job explaining, I'll have another lash. The question was 'how do I keep from buying the wrong battery type'? Amongst others. I answered 'the most sure (safest) way is to buy from TV. You said, 'don't waste your money, buy these' because they're cheaper (at the moment).

We're both basically 'right' (whatever that really is) today I think. I took the question to be more one of principle (useful months from now) and responded accordingly. Same as I would for say Magic Flight (and have). The sure bet is with the factory gear. In the proverbial sense, you're happy to show the guy the cheapest fish in town today, I'm giving fishing lessons?

In the end I'm sure the OP will do just fine.

I can certainly say buying batteries for the magic flight was a waste of money and had to get them from the manufacturer. For those of us who don't know batteries it ends up being way more expensive to play the guessing game. I thought a battery was a battery and how wrong I was.
