RBT is good people, the patient are and will continue to be happily rewarded.

No chit! And it's not like he didn't say, several times, that he wasn't answering anything for awhile. If some peopel feel so special that they need to have their hand held for every step of the process then maybe pre-ordering what is shaping up to be a 'best in class' device is maybe not for you. There are a lot of great vapes out there that are already for sale - get one. And in a year or two who knows? Maybe Zion will be on the shelf right alongside the others. But maybe not... Thats also a beauty of getting in early on something. Not all things, but this one has several hundreds of pages of input and feedback of the design process, all live and in real time through our very own FC. And I do feel the need to mention that since finding FC I have not made a bad vape purchase. The people and knowledge in this place is absolutely wonderful. Lots of smart people sharing knowledge and info. I trust it. I try to contribute where I can. Thats how it works.

As a pre-order of both GH and Zion, I cancelled my GH as there was a whole bunch of buggy coming out of that. I'm not bashing, as I still would have gotten it, it's just also too small for what I actually require. Fun and cute, but ultimately a drawer vape for me. I waited for Zion, as well. It's SN13 - and it's a totally beautiful monster of a device. Simple to use, simple to run, swappable batteries, but I'm getting almost a day out of a pair. I bring spares when going out for a 12+ hour day, just in case. 3 years ago I had no idea what a vape actually was, and now I'm feeling *very* lucky to have more than one world-class vaping devices. In my head the collection I have is getting smaller, but I'll always have a home for a select few, and Zion is one of those. I'm looking forward to Milaana being the pocket-sized portable for bush bashing. TOD looks great, as well, but I have a funny feeling there may be some really cool skins and options available for it, so I can wait a bit...

It's disappointing there were a couple of duff units, but that hasn't seemed to slow other manufacturers down much... I have two other vapes that I *might* be able to get away with driving over, but only Zion has a warranty in case something untoward happened while I'm parked on it... I wonder if it's covered against damage due to falling down our mountain? Would I have to provide all the pieces, dust and all? ;)

There are some valid concerns, I think it's blown out of proportion personally but it's not all unfounded harsh opinions. Two sides to every coin, if people can accuse us of being starry-eyed fanboys they can be accused as ignorant bashers, but that doesn't make anyone right on either side. The world needs multiple perspectives for everything. Live and let live, eventually the actual vapes will be able to speak for themselves, as it always should be :2c:

I for one dont understand the outrage. RBT is entitled to run his business anyway he wants to! He doesn't actually owe anybody anything, I feel he has been quite forthcoming with the way of things... I know in this age of entitlement people feel that a business should bend over backwards for them but they dont have too! He is obviously confident in his product and seeing as there is only one person, I doubt there are enough hours in the day for building units. Let alone pander to incessant whinging and questions that either are already in the FAQ or dont have awnswers yet!
The way i see it there are two options:
1: Believe in the mans conviction and give him your hard earned
2: Dissagree with the way RBT chooses to conduct business (which I dont necessarily see as a choice but more as a limitation of lack of staff/money/time) and take your money elsewhere. No amount of bitching is gonna make a difference!

Just my :2c:

For the record I went with option 1 :science:

The pictures of the single battery on twitter look good. I think they were posted a few days ago.

Although I am not a mod, I feel compelled to remind everyone that this is the RBT Milaana thread. Not the respond to reddit thread.

@killick, @Farkas, @TheRobbo - I don't think they can hear you guys on here.

Lol good point. I just had to get that off my chest I almost did a ltlle while back when this all flared up. Also I don't go on redit too many off topic whingers trolling and bashing and, and... hang on now I'm doing it :freak:
Sorry I'll go back in my nice comfortable on topic hole!

Screw reddit!:rip:

If I cared what they said I would be on their thread, not on this thread letting you all know (drum roll) I just ordered a Zion and a Milaana!!!

RBT are good people indeed! I never had a problem getting a response back even on weekends!

So... Could I possibly be more excited!!!

No. The answer is no. I could not be more psyched! I am pumped! Not only for the Zion AKA "judge" and the Milaana AKA "Jury" but to help a company that I believe in 150%!

Never mind the nay sayers. Seeing is believing and I'm a believer!

:science:KICK ASS!

@srama21 I'm willing to bet a quarter the reddit guys are reading this right now. And my keyboard tourettes was starting to act up anyways... Sometimes you just havta go with it :)

PS - today has been entirely Zion-free. For no other reason than I was dreading making any comparisons. And joy of joys I can have more than one vape! I'm starting to figure out this 'signature' thing!

Vaping is kinda fun!

This is exactly right. Please don't derail this thread discussing comments on another site. You can start a thread in the Lounge but I recommend against it. Threads dedicated to attacking or criticizing anyone or anything are always problematic and easily erupt in flame wars.

@Vape Dr. : excellent news! The more trusted reviewers we get on board, the better.

Apparently some people think we beta testers are all completely biased, Stockholm syndrome style or something? This is beyond me, as apart from the alphas, all other test units were paid for (this should eliminate the "I got a free gift so I must be kind in return" aspect) and we are such a diverse bunch, coming from many different horizons, all having different usage patterns, and on top of that we didn't know each other previously apart from reading our respective posts here online on FC.

I realize that at times we might sound suspiciously cheerful and enthusiastic, but once you guys will get some of RBT tech in your hands I promise that you will understand that it is much deserved. The Zion is just plain awesome, there's no other way to describe it. It might be too early to say the same about the Milaana, but from what we saw in video and knowing that the device will be even simpler (i.e. less possible failure points, using the same proven heater tech) I'm very condident and I trust RBT to do it right.

@pakalolo

So if one wanted to practise a little in anticipation of this vape, and a FV could be had cheap (which they can in the states but not sure about postage) would you recommend it to play with while waiting?

I love the FV but I've always been hesitant to recommend it because it is tricky to master. I can't say how much that experience will help with the Milaana, but I expect it to help a lot. If you don't mind taking the gamble that you might not like it and if you are experienced with vapourizers, then go for it. Since we're off-topic here, if you want to ask more send me a PM, or better yet post in the FV thread.

I ordered one of these last night :)

The design looks great for stealth and Mr. Peanut's reviews about this hitting faster than normal usage of the regulated Zion but yet still keeping the same vapour signature is very encouraging.

I also like the fact that you won't be running the batteries down to voltages that would diminish the battery life expectancy since it will stop effectively producing vapour before it gets to the lower voltages - which is its own inherent protection. It's also easy enough to just carry a couple of backup 18650's in plastic case if you are going to be away from a charger for a couple of days

I don't know if the design is set in stone yet - which I doubt since it seems that the Z-Team beta testers have had impact on past design changes.

But a couple suggestions that I have which the RBT creative team can examine for feasibility - or ignore completely :\ .......is the design for the top of unit and the glass bowl.

One issue that I see as a potential problem is the exposed glass lip of the 18/19mm female glass joint potentially cracking with impact from a drop where the top side lands first.

I also hear that there is an issue with glass stem retention and perhaps one design change could fix both these issues?

What if the glass lip was counter sunk slightly and then a high temperature silicone washer was placed over it - where the silicone was malleable enough - (or perhaps three or four equidistant slits were cut on the inside of the washer) - to allow a bowl to slip through but yet still be retained through the friction grip of the silicone washer on the sides of the glass stem?

The silicone washer and glass bowl could then be retained by a c-clip (such as how the Underdog core is held in) and this would also allow the silicone stem retaining washer to be swapped out more easily (if it loses its grip through repeated usage or it splits with fatigue) - or for the vape to be serviced more easily since removal of the c-clip would allow easier access to the glass bowl which would also be retained by this clip as well - instead of using adhesive.

If the connection between the glass heater bowl and the heater itself was a "plug-in" contact point vs a "fixed connection" then it would also be easy to swap out this piece out if there are any glass heater bowl breakages through a hard impact.

Then perhaps the RBT webstore could stock these as replacement parts that could be "user serviced" if someone drops their vape and this glass bowl breaks......since the warranty on glass is 30 days anyways. It would also be much cheaper to pay for the one way shipping of a glass bowl replacement part that can be swapped out by the customer rather than paying for shipping in both directions.

Another design tweak that might help to protect the heater bowl is to set a couple of silicone o-rings around the glass bowl itself (i.e., between the glass and the cored out wood) to help dampen any potential impact that might otherwise crack the glass.

I think these design tweaks would not detract from the aesthetics of the unit, help retain the glass stems and also help make it more robust in being protected from drop impacts. I would also think that the additional length of the wood unit required to counter sink the glass bowl's lip into the wood and also add a c-clip for retention of the bowl and high temperature silicone washer would also be very minimal.

If RBT thinks these "tweaks" might be a good idea and wishes to utilize any of these ideas then I would state publicly now that I don't have any expectation of any type of "compensation" if he were to do so......especially if they make my own unit that much more durable.

But even if these suggestions are dismissed, I hope that he might come up with an alternative tweak that would help with glass stem retention as well as additional preventive measures to help reduce potential breakage from a top end impact.

I also hope that a stir stick returns to the mix.......I see an additional cutout right beside the heater's glass bowl and I'm not sure if this is there just to assist with installing the bowl itself or if it is meant to be a slot where a recessed stir stick might be located - and perhaps also be retained here by being slightly "pre-bent" - such as was discussed in the Zion thread as an "approved mod" by one of the official testers (can't remember who).

Anyways........I look forward to getting my hands all over my "Milaana" and modulating the crap out of my sexy new Eastern European vape porn star ;) .........and since she is "unregulated" I also don't mind getting to know her moods and playing with her button  for a little longer to keep the juices flowing and to maintain the heat of our "encounters" when she gets a little "tired"

........at least until she is completely "spent" and needs some well deserved rest where she can get her "stems" cleaned up and her batteries topped up in anticipation of our next heated "tryst"

Yup......I am very much looking forward to getting to know you better Milaana! :)

Yup......I am very much looking forward to getting to know you better Milaana! :)

So with a lot of Milaana bodies already made, enough to cover this initial pilot run, it seems the design will be more bare bones to get em churned out. I also think that simplicity is key in their swift construction and keeps cost low.

That being said this could potentially be used for the full production with wood bodies from other manufacturers, but again I think simplicity will be favored (in design and materials). Of course with plenty of beta bodies, we will surely test how durable it is like this, that will likely determine the viability of your suggestion.

The hole on the top seems to the new air intake location. I agree a stir stick would be great, but actually I also want stem storage... The design of the first gen Milaana seems pretty completed asofnow, but theres definitely room for future accessories like a wooden dugout that stores a stem, stash, and stirrer :brow: even if they have to be aftermarket

Hi Shit Snacks,
(BTW.....I love "Archer" too)

I assume that you are one of the Z-team beta testers for the Milaana?

After hearing Mr. Peanut's feedback - I am greatly looking forward to more feedback from the testers who already had the opportunity to test the Zion - I can't wait to hear more user reports for this unit as well as YouTube videos.

I'm not sure if "IAmKrazy2" will be receiving one of the beta units.....but I sure hope so since I have really enjoyed watching his YouTube videos for both the Zion and the TOD and would love to see some YouTube videos of Milaana as well as seeing her enjoying herself with some glass :brow:

Haha yeah, looks like this new season will be another fun genre shake up...

And hopefully we will see soon enough where the first few units are going, rest assured the Z team testers will share plenty when they are in hand (I know I will asap if I do)

I believe, fingers crossed, i should get an early single battery unit to test and compare, followed by some videos. Don't want to count my chickens, but i believe I am in the first six beta units very tentatively going out the end of this month.

Once i stop being lazy i will get the dual powerhouse into the hands of @DieHard to try out

Edit. Thanks for watching my videos GTA

Yeah, man. Hope you'll be getting one soonest. Can't wait to see your Milaana-Videos :):luv:

When did you order yours? Guess I'm one of the earlier ones too... But it might be my time after the Z-Team - tho it was also declared as beta when ordered (well, just like the Z :) ).
However, I'm patiently waitin' and enjoyin' the time listening to some Aaron Kamm & the one drops :rockon:

Have a great day everyone!! Peace:peace:
