to keep my warranty active, i need to send it back to them... Actually sending it today. I will miss it, but every time I squeeze the battery on the new one it reminds me why i have a replacement. This is on another level then the original I had. I really dont think the original ever came close to this one...

matthend,
I literally just opened my Power Adapter and had to come on here to say what a goddamn miracle of engineering this whole system is. I never really quite got the hang of using the batteries, apparently, because the rips from the PA are like nothing I've experienced before with the MFLB. I think this is a must for any MFLB, if only to introduce new users to the 'nuances' of MFLB use, before graduating to batteries.

Thanks, Magic Flight, for this amazing little machine.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news... but there is another MFLB clone out there - and it looks nearly identical to the real thing (minus cheesy logo)!

I took a picture of one last night at the newly opened smoke shop by my house:

DA KUBE

Being a MFLB owner, and knowing the top-notch quality, love, and work that went into the MFLB, makes me seeth with resentment at the company and/or slaves that churned out these things.

What should/can I do about it?

You can't really do much, though you could talk to the owner of the LHS you went to and inform them of top-notch quality vapes such as the MFLB.

If I owned the store I wouldn't want to sell knockoffs especially overpriced knockoffs.

It's not bad news, because it's not news at all. There are lots of of knockoffs (also that 'da kube' has been here for a while) and magic-flight is still running great bussiness just because only magic-flight can make perfect launch boxes.

As I know LB, if a person only makes the box without REALLY DEEP knowledge, it can't work. It is only a screen attached to 1,2V rails, but if someone only makes this happen withou deep engineering it will most probably end up not heating enough or evenly or at opposite the screen heats up to red and you've got a real burn box. That is only one possible issue of many causable by underengineering the launch-box.

Well - it bummed me out a bit, because I know there will be someone who isn't informed, and will buy this thing, probably for close to or more than it would cost for the real deal.

It sucks that a store owner would promote a product that will most likely fail them, and then the buyer will most likely assume that a "real" MFLB will fail them as well.

you'll see random vape knockoffs all over. as long as there is a successful product then there will be knockoffs. the store owner probably just doesn't know any better and all in all is trying to run a business. from my experience, most people who work at LHS are quite knowledgeable about the products they are selling in the store but when it comes to vaporizers they might be a bit lacking since they focus on glass sales.

I thought I had Magic Flight's number written down, but I can't find it now. Anyone remember it right off hand? I'm pretty sure I got it in this thread, but I don't remember what page. If we can get that number, you could always call them, tsx53. :)

hey guys, stopping in to show some love and show off a new case I purchased. I bought my box when this thread was at 51 pages. I read every single one before I bought it. It was still a fairly new product at the time!

Anyways, I went to the bahamas last week and this was the only thing i bought! It was handmade by some old bahamian woman. She was making one when I bought this one which was kinda cool to see. Alot of the other sellers had them too.

This photo has a quarter to show size. The case has a 4 pack of batteries and 1 unit inside during the time the photo was taken. I could easily squeeze a brush and stems inside it if I wanted to. I love it! I really regret not buying more of them when I had the chance to share with you all.

Hello dear friends, I think I'm in the same situation as tsx53. I sent an email to the Magic-Flight customer service on January 2nd because I've started to worry about a leak from my box when I am vaporizing. I am in no hurry, I understand we're just coming off the holidays but I would like to discuss about this with you in the meantime. Also, I know that Magic Flight reads this threads so maybe that'll help (I'm living in Canada btw so I can't call..).

Anyway, to get back to the point, I noticed roughly one month ago that there was a vapor leak from the sliced hole in which there is the (not sure) copper ring that also goes under my box. It starts at the same time as heat is provided. It is almost non existant if I inhale constantly, but if I use the micro hitting technique there are little clouds going out of the hole between each inhalation. My worries are that I wonder if this could affect my box's performance and if (my biggest fear) this could allow any additionnal smell.

Here is a picture of when I move my box with the metal pin that holds the screen facing downwards :

I hope I provided enough details for you guys to understand my situation!

Take care :)

EDIT : Tried to rotate the picture but didn't succeed :(

has anyone tried to vape hash out of their LB? i have this small piece of hash after i did a ISO wash with my grinder but wasn't sure if vaping hash would damage a MFLB in some way.

Trakteur: That is air intake, so little vapor can leak out from there if you are heating and not drawing at all. I think that's normal. If you will wait few secs more, the vapor will leak from the stem too. If you are hitting natively, it will leak from the mouthpiece hole sooner than from the air intake.

You can just draw sooner after you press on the battery. If it were hermeticaly sealed you couldn't draw that vapor, so the air intake has to be there. Also leaks from the air intake are almost neglible (so you don't really have to worry about performance). And also i thing the leak smells the same as the exhaled vapor, so it doesn't add any smell.

The box isn't built for heating and not drawing. It is supposed to be cool, or heating with airflow. When heating without airflow, it leaks and overheats.

Trakteur: Also you can do the micro hit technique while still keeping a slight draw the whole time, or is that another whole technique? I dunno, I just did what worked when I got my LB!! I don't know if I should ask why so worried about smell... :ninja:????

Getting Lost
It looks like you have one of the older boxes before they changed the air intake channel, which could be why your box leaks vapor

That is the old air channel, but both will leak vapour if you heat the load without drawing for a while. Seek explained it pretty well.

I think there is a little misunderstanding here. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough, but I already know that if you don't draw there will be vapor leaking. I should have mentionned that there is more vapor going out from that hole than from the drawing hole (in fact I always start drawing my hits before there is any going out from the drawing hole). About the old air channel, you guys must be right because I bought my box on August 2010.

What I meant is between micro hits, there is clearly a cloud of vapor going out of my box and it isn't a negligible quantity. I can't use my box at the moment (been dry since the weekend), but I will try to get one of my friends to use it so I can post a video.

Thanks for the quick answers.

Yes, you can vape hash in the LB. But you need to be very careful and use a technique appropriate for the type of hash you have. Never put hash into the MFLB by itself. You want to mix it with herb. If your hash is very dry, crumble it into as fine a powder as you can and simply mix a small pinch in with a trench of finely ground herb. You want to avoid letting the hash melt into the screen. If your hash is moist mix it with herb or ABV before loading it into the box. Either way you want to shake and stir your trench often.

Also, don't over do it. Start off with a tiny amount of hash and get a feel for it. A little goes a long way. When you get it vaporizing right you will draw some very thick vapor!

Trakteur, I'm thinking your LB might need a good cleaning. Maybe it's easier for the vapor to escape through the intake hole than through the screen and mouth hole.
