The Lotus Vaporizer

New to FC and just wanted to chime in real quick. I have been friends with @stickstones my whole life, he introduced me to vaping, and he has been my vape sensei since. I only get to go and visit him once a year and I always look forward to using his collection, old and new.

The lotus was the first vape I wanted to try when I arrived, and remains in my top 3 favorite vapes so far. First off, being a college student I love the affordability and simplicity of it. No complicated parts I need to worry about breaking. Plus with all the glass I have, I don't need to buy anything else with it. Second, I love the control. I've played around with high-end vapes like the herbalizer or vaporlution 3.0. While they give consistent temperature hits, that's not what I'm looking for in a vaporizer. I've found now that I'm looking more for the feel of the hit than anything else. I spend most of my time smoking glass and the lotus gives me consistant bong-rip-like hits that I'm looking for. The more I use the lotus the better rips I get.

Here is one of my favorite ways to hit the Lotus. I really do love this guy...

Welcome!

I concur on all points. Once you get a handle on flame size and distance from the plate (a skill most easily honed with a glass piece of one kind or another) it's the Ferrari of portable vapes. After using one for just a few days I found (if my torch isn't acting up) that it's pretty easy to get a single-rip extraction.

The only thing that I "dislike" about it is that you need a quiet, one on one situation to get people up to speed on it. Using it with neophytes = instant combustion and a potential Lotus owner set off on the wrong foot. Obviously there's no way to get around that without fundamentally changing the device, so I tend not to share it around.

Getting better and better with this vape!
You can get vapor so thick it looks like smoke, open up the cap and the bud is still green!
Going with about 1/3 full bowls works best so far as well as micro loads but they always end up as wanting more...

I have stopped using water with the Lotus and just use a dry WT.
Flavor is awesome as well as effects!
usage has gone down due to this vape!
Unfortunately or not, it is the first vape i reach for everyday!
That flame and ritual is just addictive!

After a week of almost exclusive use, my Lotus is about 95% successful!
Found that slightly fuller bowls work better than the micro loads i have been doing.
The micros were great for vacation (read less stress) and now that work is back in full swing, i need that extra punch for the medicinal effects to take full charge!

Still using a WT as i find the extra visual effects make it easier to control. The WT's are either dry or have water in them, water for bigger hits!
I have also discovered that my lighter needs to be pretty full all the time to try and replicate the heat used. Once it starts to run a little low the flame seems to cool down a lot. Also the two clicks to start Honest lighter is getting a bit annoying. Any tips on a better option? Preferably in Canada...

This is a vape everyone needs to try!
4 seconds to thick, delicious vapor! Nothing i have is this fast or effective in that time frame!

Hey just have a quick question for anyone with a UD and lotus. How would you say they compare when used through water? Have one UD I like to keep bedside but need something that has desktop power around my computer desk. So basically, do you think the lotus can give the monster hits like UD? Or would I be better off with two dogs?
Side note: not at all opposed to flame power. Lily=one, if my if not most, loved vapes

When you say 95%, is that dealing with noncombustion versus combustion?
And when you say WT is that any glass piece or hydratube?reason I'm asking is I think of hydratube when I hear the word watertool

95% of the time I can get nice and even ABV and awesome clouds! Sometimes I still overheat a spot and get very dark ABV in that section and the taste turns sour.

I have only combusted once with the Lotus and just a small spot. Not cool but part of the learning curve!

I am not sure how you would use the Lotus with a HT since the opening is on the bottom.

I use the FC-711, an Atomic Perc and a Möbius clone.
I do have a Wings of Liberty Incycler on the way!

Lotus is the sportscar of vapes... Fully manual transmission leaves the driver in charge, and right when you start getting a little overconfident she will humble you and make you spin out.

It hits as hard as anything Ive ever tried. You will become an expert- PRACTICE:D

Wise words. Practice. As with everything. Not to get off topic but I'm getting the hang of lily now. Practice and some lemon haze helped me ALOT. Or was it lemon haze and practice ?
Either way

Finally got round to using my Lotus for the first time. Used some sticky Caramello with a high temp cap. Taste was beautiful! Lots of visible vapour. So much more flavour than using my Mighty. Sadly I half combusted at the end which didn't taste to great. Still got a lot of learning to with this but very impressed.

Tonight i tried to use my lighter at a 90 degree angle to the hot plate.
I heat for four seconds and then start inhaling and moving the flame in small circles.
Vapor forms thick and fast and hits like a freight train!!
4 hits with 3 stirs and the ABV is a nice even brown.

Finger gets a bit warm but the end result is worth it!
Time to investigate other torch options!

I F*&%$#NG Love this vape!

Had nothing to do yesterday so decided I would go and tour all my local smoking/vape shops and see what they had and maybe pick up a jhook, after a few hours I gave up as it was all the same stuff everywhere pretty much, then when nearly home I walked past a phone shop and saw nails in the window :hmm: thought it was strange but it got my attention, when I went in I couldnt see any phones anywhere just vapes, bongs and ecigs, again no jhook but they did have a nice little grace glass pipe that I got him down to £20 for...

Sure is a lot easier to sit back and relax with it compared to using a bubbler.

The Lotus is for sure a flavor monster!!! For some reason I started getting alerted to this thread, I damn near forgot I had one! I rarely use it, no fault of its own, it's fucking great. I store the WPA in a drawer though typically and just outright forgot about it lol

I too prefer the j-hook or smaller pipe with it. Got it initially to milk bongs, and it does that too. But I prefer it as a little personal pipe.

It's indestructible too! Mine cracked one day when the cat knocked a bong over onto it...like a cm across crack, the lotus looked like PacMan! I don't know if water that spilled on it (wood swell) or the screws were extra tight, but a few days later, it's all sealed up! I can see the fracture line, but it works just like new! Totally sealed! I dig that! It looked legit unusable lol the wolverine of vapes! Now for an adamantium plate :) seems like high temp cap is maybe that!

This is my preferred MO

Nicely and well accurately put!!! I also like the fact that you made it into "she" :D

This thing is mad... It's the one and only vaporizer that I have so far and I don't think that I need anything else for use at home. I ordered the GH for a discreet tool on the go, and this will be it for me, I think.
I did order some nice tools for my Lotus WPA though.
I am waiting a nice bong around 31-32cm height with some nice curves and water filters and I also have on the way an inline ash catcher for my J hook and my vape will be taking off big time after all these..

I've been going to buy one of these for a while but the exchange rate keeps holding me back. It's $170 for the standard cap wpa kit right now.
I have a couple of questions. If I buy the high temp cap is the standard torch ok or do I need the Zico? Also would someone from Australia who bought one mind giving me a rough idea of how long delivery takes.

I know this is not the Lotus vs Mighty thread, but I have to say this. The Mighty has a big bowl. IMO too big for a single person. Due to the way it is designed, once you start you have to finish the bowl because the bowl will cook what you have not used when you stop. You could take it out half way. But it's not ideal to say the least. Essentially there is no stopping and starting. Which is like being blackmailed to take more drugs on the premise that they will not be there in the future. I had the Mighty filled with half a bowl of herb and the oil pad. I removed the herb and found that 1/4 of that was enough to fill the lotus. So that works out as 1/8 of the bowl in the Mighty. I then proceeded to vape with the Lotus, picking it up and putting down when I liked for long intervals while reading and drinking tea. I remembered that plastic has bad vibes and that the metal and wood of the lotus had a quality that was unmatchable. I have been wasting so much weed and brain cells in the Mighty. I can get away with using a minute fraction of what I had been using. I know there are other vapes that allow for this but the lotus has been the vape to do this for me. Sadly there are no temp dials on a Lotus and the vapour is a bit on the smokey side for me but this is likely as I am still learning the ways of this device; when I get home the Lotus is what I'm going for at the moment. The taste is really muted in the Mighty due to the plastic and this is apparent when using a vape such as the lotus. Aswell as not being made of plastic the lotus has no batteries. I like the vibe. New favourite vape? I think so!!
