TC Box Mods Firmware Discussions and Customizing

Too late to edit, but that reminds me that a lot of you guys are probably still using the stock TC algo even if you switched to AF or sur_myevic, as at least for the former, the PI(D) controller is not enabled by default! (was the case also in myevic but not in tubo_myevic)

You need to enable it in the config otherwise you'd still be using the crude on/off controller.

Those PID values you gave me was a huge improvement for the past 2 days, thanks again. There's a small overshooting of temp by about 5F at heat up and the cycling is a few degrees above and below target temp if I don't inhale. When I inhale the cycling temps will still overshoot by as much as 50F but there isn't as much roaring heat as it was before if I inhaled at the wrong part of the heating cycle. I still get a bit of scorching if I take back to back hits, a few seconds between hits allows the mod to cycle back down the temp so I try to be more patient in between draws.

Yeah I aimed at some some overshoot when not drawing. If you start drawing right before it reaches temperature it should even the top of the curve a bit.

You could try lowering your max watts too. Longer initial heat-up but perhaps more stable afterwards?

Anyway those coefs are just a start and will need to be adjusted. Try lowering P again maybe? And you didn't say if you were able to use the live monitor or not? I don't recall if you can use it with other firmware or if it's only when AF is loaded.

Hi all, I need to order a mod asap for an inbound Stempod, kind of a tough decision so I'm looking for some opinions...

Currently looking at these:

http://modefined.com/lyra/

http://modefined.com/draco-200w/

https://www.elementvape.com/geek-vape-aegis-100w-tc-box-mod

https://www.wismec.com/product/reuleaux-rx-gen3-dual-2/

  • The Lyra looks compact and real comfortable to hold, I like the oval shape and the display graphics.
  • I prefer the 510 connector to be centered, it isn't on the Draco but I REALLY dig the sculpted G10 inlays.
  • Ageis is a single cell model, however it takes a high capacity 26650 cell, and has a rocker-style firing button which I thought was cool. The mod is kind of large but that could be an advantage too. There's a lot of feedback that it's very comfortable to hold.
  • The Wismec Reuleaux RX GEN3 DUAL 230W looks good too, it's more compact than the Ageis and also smaller than the Wismec Sinuous Ravage230 I looked at.
I added a 4th mod to the list (Wismec)! I also need to know if there's a compatable autofire/cruise firmware for any of these, I'm going to look back at some posts here about it tonight, but if anyone knows offhand that'd be great.

I've been trying out new coils in my StemPod and my Wismec DNA 250 gives me the off message occasionally. I can't seem to figure out the pattern. If I hook it up to escribe and run the monitor it acts like it's in TC but the screen just reads off. then sometimes it runs normally. Any ideas?

Turns out it was the coils. I had tried SS316L 20 AWG 10.5 wraps which gave me the error. When I tried 7.5 wraps I was able to fan it out more, and get no error.

Looking at this mod for a SAI, will try to install red panda.

Wondering would it also be good for the Stempod?

Anyone know if sur_myevic can be installed on a Wismec Reuleaux RX2 21700?
Or who to ask officially?

Don't see it on the list but Reuleaux RX2 20700 is, looks like the same mod just a newer version that can run 21700's

Also listed:
  • Eleaf

  • Invoke
Does that mean ALL models of Eleaf & Invoke? (Invoke is by Eleaf)

You might try asking here: http://www.ecigtalk.ru/forum/f16/t101158.html You might need to post in Russian though. Since the mod you mentioned is not specifically listed as being compatible, I would interpret that to mean that it is not compatible.

Since no mods are listed under Eleaf and Invoke, I'd interpret that to mean that there are no Eleaf or Invoke mods that are compatible with sur_myevic.

Also, regarding your question about the Joyetech Espion. It works well with my Splinter and Sai. Don't see any reason why it wouldn't work well with a Stempod.

Yeah but only arcticfox/purplepanda on the Espion, so no cruise for that one, plus not sure I like the "left thumb" fire button.

 I took it to mean compatible with all Eleaf & Invoke mods. :hmm:
Right, and my reasoning was why even list those brands? There's a ton of brands NOT supported.

I'm running sur_myevic on an Eleaf Invoke

(and a Primo SE, and an RX Gen3 dual; and Tubomyevic on an RX2/3, and a Cuboid :) )

I think the latest compatibility list is in the Russian manual
https://github.com/MicroSur/sur_myevic/blob/master/git_doc_ru/usageandcompatibility_ru.md
THANK YOU !!!! Invoke is exactly one of the mods I wanted to run it on, but (wrongly) determined it wasn't compatible.

EDIT: Thank you again, you are the man! Found the Wismec RX2 21700 on the Russian list, I've been all over trying to get the answer on that one!

Below is info from the escribe forum. I installed the update on one of the 250c hoping it fixes the random temperature protection issue that will sometimes crop up in the 250c when using some non stock themes. Going test it out will some different themes the next few days.

Since this been out for awhile also wondering have any of the other dna250c user updated too this version? Has it helped fix the issue?

Hey Herbie, good to have you back. I was one of the one's that was never able to get my splinter Z to work problem-free with the 250C. The latest set of problems was that on the splinter, SZ, 316L profiles I get light heating at 300F, if I raised the temp to 310F it would enter "temp protect", was a constant hassle juggling it. A few days ago I installed the service pack and reloaded the default theme and everything is working fantastic now. The target temps actually correspond with real world temps and I haven't had any temp protection issues, don't know what fixed it:shrug:. Anyway I should be very pleased but I do miss all the tweaking options and live readings from the old colored theme but it's a trade off with the stock theme.

The newest service pack helped with the issue you where experiencing looks like the attempt to fix it

Fixed spurious Temperature Protected errors that could crop up in certain high-CPU themes with Replay off.

Can try loading this theme if it gives you issue just return to default screen.

I have also noticed a new bug in the above service pack. Once in awhile you might get a Error press up.
If you do its software issue the device is fine. Should be fixed in there next service pack.

Installed new service packs in the DNA and DNAc seeing if cause and changes to profiles. Will update the FCSHARE as needed.

Hey herbie, thanks for getting back to me. I re-installed Frank's theme from a link @SloJimFizz posted and everything is working better than it ever had before. The default theme works fine but I love having all the live stats

Here's the link in case anyone else might want to download and install it.

Eh ..

Would like to ask something ..

Anyone care to discuss the Red Panda / Arctic Fox firmware for TC mods ?

It's a great firmware, and works on many mods. Also has software with device monitor somewhat similar to Escribe's software. For pc or mac.

Right here is the NFE Forum where you can download the proper firmware for your mod, either Red Panda for color screens, or Arctic Fox for the rest.

Anyway , anybody using Arctic Fox or Red Panda ?

Here's a pic of the screen on my Espion 200w mod, that I'm using on my Sai TAF concentrate atomizer:

2qu6e81.jpg

It's got SO many options, it's quite remarkable.
PID, TCR, presets for Ni,SS,Ti,Power. Everything is conifgurable thru eiter the pc/mac, or the mod.
A few functions seem to be only available thru software.

Anyone out there using this ? :)

Hi, I can't flash sur_myevic on my primo mini. FWUpdater V2.2.5 won't recognize my primo mini. I didn't have any problem flashing tubo on my vtwo mini. Does someone have any clue ? Is this the right updater software ?

Edit : got it working fine with AF on the meanwhile...

My VT75D just arrived. What's the process again? Is there a firmware change before the Splinter ecigprofiles and the Frank theme?

Update: I just connected and put the profiles on with escribe no trouble. Just the theme to do now.

Second update: my 30Qs fit (a bit snug on one) and the Z profile works a treat. Very even and cool with good vapor production through a range of reasonable temps. I'll try the theme next. I noticed the Splinter DNAc profile listed on the Evolv forum doesn't have the C in the name like the others.

Final update: got Frank's theme on there and it's a better experience now. Still impressed by the even heating and I'm able to get cool hits with the Z and XL8R right through the range of temps I associate with my session vapes. This in contrast to my TC mods which I tend to use in the 350-380° range. Wattage seems nicely controlled as well.

I installed this above service pack and then I loaded Frank’s theme for the paranormal in this link

If Frank’s theme gives you temp protect errors then you’ll have to play around with it. I had problems originally but the service pack and reinstalling the theme fixed all the issues
