Instead of spending 8 TRILLION dollars on our post 9/11 wars, turning hundreds of thousands of people in countries that had nothing to do with 9/11 into pink clouds...all so the shareholders of 3-4 weapons companies could buy new mansions in Northern Virginia... maybe we could've just bought locks for airliner cockpits, built The Loop™, and pocketed the other 7.2 Trill?
Or.... instead of blowing trillion-dollar holes in the budget to do tax cuts that almost entirely benefit the rich?
Whenever politicians want to do a tax cut, they talk about the economic activity it will spur. "A Rising Tide Lifts All Boats". But like 80% of the hundreds of billions we had to print for the last tax cut went directly into the stock market.
Which was all fine and dandy until...say March of 2020. The stock market crashed. All of that money vaporized. Then the Fed printed hundreds of billions AGAIN, to re-float the market. Cuz rich people weren't gonna take a bath because of COVID, lol.
Well... I can tell you this for free. Making Philly and NYC 18 minutes apart would absolutely spur billions in new economic activity. And the nice part about building quality infrastructure? The benefits don't disappear into thin air when something like the Wuhan Flu blows onto out shores.

We need to see their tactics as a weapon against humanity, and not as truth

First step: create the enemy, sometimes this will be done for you
Second step: be sure the enemy you have chosen is nothing like you
Find obvious differences like race, language, religion, dietary habits, fashion
Emphasize that their soldiers are not doing a job
They are heartless murderers who enjoy killing!
Third step: once these differences are established, continue to reinforce them
With all disseminated information
Fourth step: have the media broadcast only the ruling party's information
This can be done through state run media
Remember, in times of conflict all for-profit media repeats the ruling party's information
Therefore all for-profit media is state-run
Fifth step: show this enemy in actions that seem strange, militant, or different
Always portray the enemy as non-human, evil, a killing machine

Sixth step: eliminate opposition to the ruling party
Create an "Us versus Them" mentality
Leave no room for opinions in between
One that does not support all actions of the ruling party should be considered a traitor
Seventh step: use nationalistic and or religious symbols and rhetoric to define all actions
This can be achieved by slogans such as "Freedom-loving people versus those who hate freedom"
This can also be achieved with the use of flags
Eighth step: align all actions with the dominant deity
It is very effective to use terms like, "It is God's will" or "God bless our nation"
Ninth step: design propaganda to show that your soldiers
Have feelings, hopes, families, and loved ones
Make it clear that your soldiers are doing a duty, they do not want or like to kill
Tenth step: create and atmosphere of fear, and instability
And then offer the ruling party as the only solutions to comfort the public's fears
Remembering the fear of the unknown is always the strongest fear

Call me a radical commie, but I think it should be illegal to have someone do something for your benefit, that they'd much rather not be doing, for an entire hour, for less the cost of a Quarter Pounder and fries (no drink) at McDonald's
And no offense to Free Market Fundamentalists, but the fact you CAN find someone desperate enough to take you up on that offer isn't the defense of lassiez faire capitalism you think it is
