Kind of weird. Maybe my unit have the same kind of problem since I don't get much vapor

Just used it at work a couple hours ago. Next movie and next session coming
its totally working i don't think its really defective, i get high and in a very good way, just less vapors than the cano. i think its just a different kind of extraction, producing less vapors but still giving a really powerful high
I've been seriously stoned from it so is totally accomplishing the essential

The battery duration seems to improve over charge cycles. I can vape more and more from a charge. More juice than i need for a full day

So far i'm very happy to have it, its kinda life saving since i have to work 12h straight (all the night) and I have like 6 hours straight when I can do whatever I want since everybody's sleeping and all the tasks are done. I'm in the middle of my that time now. notebook + Bose soundlink + Solid wifi connection + 720p rips + minivap = awesome

Its easy to use, convenient and discreet, here in france, no one knows what a vaporizer is
Finally its pretty fast to heat if you don't use the red setting, imo green is enough, i don't trow away my abv, i eventualy finish it with the cano and/or save it for cooking

Well my MiniVap arrived today. I have been looking everything over this evening. I got the battery charged, and I look forward to testing this thing out.

It seems really well built. It feels pretty substantial in your hand. We will see how it preforms.

Now I need to go back through and re-read the this entire thread.

Edit:

First session down. I messed up the first round... I think I was tired and not paying attention to what I was doing. I loaded my flowers in the pollen bowl and tried to vape. It did not work so well. There was almost no visible vapor.

I realized what I did and dumped it out and started over. I got much better results when I loaded the device properly. I just sprinkled it in and lightly packed it. I imagine I could have fit more in. I got some pretty descent vapor hits on green. I would say comparable to the Solo.

The airflow in this thing is pretty amazing. I don't think I have experienced a portable with this much airflow potential. I can pull hard on this thing, and there is not much resistance. I find the harder I pull the larger vapor cloud I get. I also feel like the lack of resistance let me get the vapor deeper into my lungs.

The taste is fantastic. Really, it is great. The ABV was cinnamon colored. I spent the entire session on green. I can't comment on the high much because I have been using various devices tonight and already medicated from other sessions.

More testing required... :science: tomorrow. I think it is  time now.

WOW SLiM! You picked up this badboy too!!! You are officially my new here with getting the Pax, and Inhalater! I don't think i've ever been so jealous in all my time on FC here because you have the 3 vapes that would love to have my hands on! lol

Really looking forward to more feedback, and most importantly what's lacking here most and what you have the tremendous ability to do are videos! Would love more comparisons of this to the Solo.

I kinda let this vape fall off my radar as there is so little known and the price, but now i'm rethinking this and you got me all hyped again lol

THANKS SLim!!!

Sounds really cool...

About airflow restriction... you feel like you can get more to your lungs huh?
Well, is it only me or inhaling air in a restricted draw can cause problems and not really healthy? this is what I heard but correct me.

How does it retain the temperature? is there a temp indicator? how long a .1 session can last? (approx)

I can totally understand how better airflow can make it feel like you are getting more in the lungs, especially in comparison to the Solo. It's just such an effort, that it doesn't feel the same as ripping on something deep without restriction.

I too think it can get a little fatiguing on the lungs when you are fighting trying to get flow.

Hey I was wondering if the few guys on here with the mV have any ideas about WHY the airflow is so good (which is to say unrestricted). It seems like that is mentioned a lot, and I admit that seemingly unrestricted airflow on a direct draw vape sounds pretty good to me. But I guess I'm worried that I also see low vapor production (sub-visible levels even) mentioned by pretty much all owners, and I'm wondering if the good airflow and poor vapor production are closely related. Is fresh air being mixed with vapor somewhere? If not, what explains the airflow being so good? I mean, vapes are pretty simple and there aren't that many variables involved -- so what do you think is making airflow noticeably less restricted on the mV than with other vapes? :peace:

I think the couple reports of thin vapour (yet heavy medication?) may stem from accidently using the pollen bowl with herbs instead of just directly placing the herbs in the bowl as SLiM found out. Or perhaps non-optimal functioning units, I can only speculate which means nothing. SLiM got my stoke on with the clouds he was reporting and resulting ABV so once I see a video confirming that, I think I may pull the trigger.

The good airflow is a huge thing for me here, especially coming from the Solo. I think perhaps it's so good because of the way this vape is mainly convection with little or no conduction (that will be changing with a small mod soon), so perhaps the heater is really efficient and allows airflow to be good, without cooling the air too much.

Things are about to get alot more exciting with SLiM having one of these!

I only had a chance to use it once more time since then. I think the airflow is good because it is a wider diameter air path. I will measure it when I get a chance. It also has two large holes for the air to enter the device/air path. That adds up to some really great airflow.

I get decent vapor production when I hit the device really hard and long. The vapor goes pretty deep when I do that. I think that makes it hard to judge how thick it is. I would say they are not as thick as the PAX or DaVinci. More in line with the Solor, and more then the MFLB. I got maybe 10 hits off of a fully packed bowl. The ABV was pretty even. The very top layer was the lightest. Everything else was medium brown in consistency, I would say cinnamon colored or darker. I stayed mostly on the Green setting.

I am still trying to get the technique down. It feels kind of like I am doing the opposite of what I am used to doing in order to get good results.

I want to try and test this out using a water pipe. I think I can make something work with the silicone stems they provide.

There is a hole about 1/2" on the bottom of the heater unit and an air path all the way through the unit to the bowl, the same way the cloud is set up but it is not glass.

The vapor (on mine anyway) is not thin. It will not milk up glass like a cloud or SSV will. But it definitely not thin.
It has been suggested that I clean my screen to restore the thickness of vapor I had when my unit was newer. That my very well fix my issue as I have not done that yet.

Ca5h - you should check to see if you have a gasket on the funnel gismo in the lid. Pop that out of the lid and check it. There should an o-ring between that and the lid. The first one I had did not have one. That would definitely cause the vapor to be thin.

I agree with the statement of the harder you hit it the thicker the vapor. It does go against what I have learned as well, but is defiantly not a bad thing. In my opinion it hits harder than my Solos. I have to use the red setting to finish a bowl the get the ABV to the brownish color.

I had another session last night. I tried some different parts and techniques to see how things changed. Instead of the plastic draw stem, I switched to the silicone hose. I found I get better vapor production. I think the seal is a little more airtight around the connection port.

I also hooked the peice up to my water pipe. This is where things got interesting. I turned it up to RED. I was able to get much thicker clouds of vapor through my water pipe. I lost track of how many hits I got. It preformed significantly better then I anticipated. After I finished up that bowl I checked the ABV. It was about as dark as on the green setting... maybe a little more. I am surprised at how this can extract vapor but never burn, or even turn dark/dark brown. I think it might be because this vaporizer is almost pure convection.

After the first session I pulled out the pollen/keif bowl. I used the same setup with the water pipe... which might be my preferred way from now on out. I got about 4 big keif hits out of it. I am trying to think about my previous protable experience. I don't think any of them have been that plesurable when it came to using straight keif. I need to test the oil pad to see how well it works. If it preforms like the pollen/keif bowl then I will be very pleased. I would consider it a really big positive if this device could do flowers/keif/oil all in one device. Being able to do them all adds allot of value.

After last nights session my impression of the MiniVap has improved.

I do not think it is a bad thing either... in fact I think it can be a positive feature. When my TMJ is acting up I appreciate less resistance. The harder I pull the more strain it puts on my jaw mussels.

Had a fucking good idea. Now just drawing from the silicone tube without the mouthpiece. MUCH better airflow. The mouthpiece restricts it and I didn't liked it at all. Now i'll stick to silicone only w/o mouthpiece.
They need to make some other mouthpieces, and longer tubes, that would be cool.

I got bigger cloud without the mouthpiece, and weirdly, less mouth burning

Btw, its so easy to clean ! 2 minutes

The high is hard hitting right now

So the tube provides better airflow than the mouthpiece because of a better seal? Just wondering why the mouthpiece doesn't provide a good seal?

The silicone provides a tighter seal because it is squishy, it forms over the ridges of the vaporizers cap/mouthpiece connection. The plastic ones snap on over the ridges of the mouthpiece cap, this allows them to rotate 360 degrees. The plastic one is relatively air tight, but not as tight of a seal as the silicone.

There have been a slight misunderstanding, I was using silicone tube + mouthpiece, now, only the tube.
Not about air tightness, the mouthpiece restricts the airflow because the hole is smaller than the vape hole

Thanks Ca5h i see now... shame, because I wanted to get away from tubes/whips, and I thought the mouthpiece would be easy enough to clean.

Without the annoying mouthpiece its finally working at his max and its easy to get huge clouds, really changes the experience. Really fulfilling.
Its a portable who can compete with bigger vapes, totally convenient, quick to load, easy to carry around, silent.

Would totally recommend that vape, its really good at extracting. Try to draw on the silicone you'll see how cloudy you get.

Now I'm searching for a small water filter that is convenient to carry

When you say it's easy to carry around I assume to keep the battery and unit separated until you're ready to use? Otherwise it's what, 8" long? lol

A few things to note about the different mouthpiece setups with the minivap. The seal on the lid of the miniVAP is important for perforomance and as many people have noted, the silicone tubing tends to seal a little better than the mouthpiece, yet many people prefer using the mouthpiece. The miniVAP comes with silicon tubing and it also comes with a plastic mouthpiece. The user can determine which works best for him or her by trial and error, but both will work given that the the lid is secure sealing the top of the miniVAP. On some of the original earlier units there was a small plastic O-Ring between the lid of the minivap and the top of the filling chamber.

The most recent itteration has no O-Ring and it seals completely without the O-ring. The stem is a little bit longer on the most recent version. There is little real difference between these versions in terms of the seal but because the seal is very imporatnt for performance, there is some ongoing tinkering with that seal. We can on a case by case basis work with customers if they have any concerns about the mouthpieces and various systems used.

Most people use the silicone tubing and many peopel have developed adaptations already from using twist ties to tightening the seal on the silicone, and a couple have talked about a water attachment. Note that we don't have such an attachment at this time, but the point is that customers have already made adaptations on their own that we know about.

The key in all cases is to make sure the seal is good enough to mainatin the airflow. As the unit is broken-in over time, we find that the seal becomes tighter and tighter, so it is the initial uses that you have to be sure the mouthpiece is properly seated on the unit. When using the regular mouthpiece without the silicone tubing a lot of people rest their index finger on the stem which is a natural way to hold it, and helps maitain the seal.

It is also important to pack the chamber properly and to experiment with different ways of packing the bowl/chamber. Usually, you want ground material and you do not want to press the material down into the bowl hard because you need to maintain some airspace between the bottom screen and the material.

Also, the material can slightly overflow from the lower part of the chamber. The chamber is really not just the small cylinder part of the bowl, but also includes some of the upper portion of the chamber and top. So you really fill the chamber a little more than might be first obvious and you also don't pack it down hard.

As you inhale on the device the material will flow to the top and a space between the bottom screen and the material developes. This is necessary to maintain air flow. If you pack it tight and the material is pressing on the bottom and won't dislodge you will not have the right airflow.

Likewise there has to be a screen cup used when using oils or other materials. They should not press up against the bottom screen. The accessories include screen cups that can be used to create space. However, when using herbal materials of any kind, the best method is to grind the materials and simply tap it down very, very ligyhtly. It's even OK if the top presses down a bit on the material when you close it as long as you don't press it down with your finger into the bottom cyclider, which would be too tight for air flow under normal curcumstances.

The idea is to use your own trial and error, but remember that the seal and a bit of airspace is needed to get the right vaporization effectiveness with the miniVAP.
