Just picked up an iolite at a local headshop tonight, so far, im very happy with it :) I get about 16 good hits with 1/2 a bowl. I really like the improvements made on the herb chamber, I'm able to get big hits with it.
And thank God, the mouth piece hasn't break on me yet, I unscrew the mouthpiece after each bowl to make sure it isn't melting. I have the mouthpiece with + / X on it. So far I only see resinous residue at the end of the mouth. But I'll order the stem with stainless steel anyways just to be safe.

Got my SS stems today in the post.
They don't fit in one , so i guess after getting the last piece of plastic out i must have screwed the threads on one of my bowls.
They fit my other two bowls fine , so im perfectly happy.
Hope these ones last

i haven't received my SS stem yet, but i have faith that i will.(they e-mailed me)

i purchased another IoLite today, for my father, and not only did it come with the better plastic stems, but the girl at the store also gave me one of the new SS ones.

they haven't yet gotten spare herb chambers or screens.

your not going too be inhaling any nasty stuff because it is spinning. All my herb chambers spin after they have been used a while. I personally like the fact they spin. You can spin them when in use. This causes the herb too move around inside the chamber. Which helps vaporize the herb by reorienting the positioning of the material. I tend too spin the herb chamber between hits.

the only way you will inhale harmful fumes is if you put your mouth over the exhaust while it is warming up.... A Loose bowl is not a problem/issue concerning inhaling stuff you don't want too inhale, toxins.

First post for me, sorry for barging in but this is a very long thread and I have not read it entirely. What I did manage to read was of great help on finalizing my decision to buy this device.

Has anybody attached Silicone tubing to the stem in the Iolizer? what are the right measures for OD and wall thickness?

I have tried tobacco molasses on this thing and it created a mess, the stem tastes like artificial apricot now and letting it sit moonshine is doing nothing to make it better. Also I'd like to see if a longer tube helps cool down the vapor.

Peace

Tubing doesn't have to be silicone. Most OEM vape tubing is just clear food grade. Silicone has a higher temp rating (not really a factor, safety wise, for output tubing on a vape) and less taste for those with more sensitive taste buds. Standard vape tubing fits- 1/4" ID, 3/8" ID, 1/16" wall thickness. You can use any length you want, but 4-6" is a good size for stealth vaping.

At least you've gotten an email. 2 sent and no response... What email address did they respond from. Perhaps mine are being sent to the wrong address or something.

just sparked this thing up for the first time and it is working great and getting me hi. a couple questions. how do you turn this damn thing off? I thought switching it to zero would turn it off. do you just have to let it go through the cycle? and how long does it usually take to fill an empty one with butane. it started to overflow in like a second. is that normal? does it fill up that quick?

I'm hitting mine as I type this.

Yes, you must let it finish cycling when you turn it off.

Maybe yours came prefilled. Mine worked out of the box without filling. It usually takes a couple seconds to fill from empty for me. I wait until it starts spurting.

thanks. one more question. how long does one fill of butane last. and mine was sputtering a little during warmup, does that mean it is low on fuel?

1 full fill up lasts about 2 hours, if its low on fuel the hiss will get lower and lower until itll just stop hissing, like you will hitting it then realize that its not heating back up and thats your cue to refill it.. and if it spudders at start up, did you exhaust all the built up air in the air tank BEFORE you filled it up with butane?

Exhaust the air before a fillup every time..

I filled it for the first time today. no hissing until about the third time I used it. I had already turned it on and off a few before it started hissing. how do you exhaust the air?

you should of got a tool with it, you just press it into the same spot where u put the butane in and it will exhaust the air or butane that in the tank

the finer its chopped up the better, and when i hit i always wait for it to stop heating up(hissing) and i hold it in, exhale, then wait til it stops heating up and hit again..

hit, hold, hiss, repeat

its ok if it heats up a few times in between your hits, but dont let it sit for more then 4 or 5 heat cycles without hititng it.. and ALWAYS unscrew the mouth tube from the bowl when your done, or it will get stuck in there once it cools down

Im not worried about inhaling harmful chemicals because it spins.
It just makes it feel flimsy and I dont like that feeling.
I want it to not spin but i cant find out how =(
