I LOVE my M when out and about, BUT...

Monday night I went out to a gig and wanted to cap a vap just before I went in.
It looked too cracky to heat up the M on the street with a triple jet torch while we walked there so I went via a back street. Thing is I felt like a crackhead huddled in a doorway doing this and it ruined the first 30 mins of the buzz because I had been so worried about being caught.

If it weren't for the shady looking heatup procedure in public I'd use the M (or Omni Ti :)) with much more relaxed freedom, but I think I need another (more stealthy) electric for this. It's a bit of a shame because I thought that Vapcap was going to be the answer to all my mobile vapings but I hadn't thought it through properly.
Oh well, I suppose it's not exactly BAD news :)

Get a sploof I like the smoke buddy Jr. Restrooms are always good spots to use the dynavap with a sploof no one will smell it either.

I'm already up-selling myself. I already have half a dozen vapes. Not sure if I need another. Not sure if I will like it, being an x cig and j smoker of many years, its nice not to think about ashtrays, matches or...lighters. Thought I'd start with an M to be rational about it, given I'm old and on a semi-fixed income. But the styles change on the DV site by the minute. I've had very good experiences with Sneaky Pete and was looking there too. Unfortunately there I saw a cocobolo omni. Having hung out here for a bit, I have been so impressed with the love and knowledge and workmanship in beautiful polished wood. I share that love of woodwork. And the actually stunning beauty turned out by fc-ers! Just wow! In his extended video, Pete showed a burl vc--I think I could be in love again. So I've ordered my first, the cocobolo omni.

Am I headed down the rabbit hole? It's my natural habitat!

Just so you know you'll not be alone-there are lots of us in that there rabbit hole and we're having us a partay. I started with a Cocobolo Omni, and then addend a Cocobolo Vong body, then a Carbon Fiber OmniXL, then...I have more parts on order, and I've even joined the crafty folks here and try my hand at making some custom glass bodies and stems from some colored borosilicate glass that arrives Saturday.

And my head is spinning with even more possibilities. See you in the rabbit hole, and don't forget to bring some Devil's Lettuce with you.

I'm going to mention that the reason I find the need to vape in public is because I used to be alcohol dependent so I'm unable to have a beer etc when out socialising, and find vaping flowers really help with cravings in these situations and makes me feel less left out.
This is pretty much my situation. Also, I am a lightweight vaper, hate being super-stoned in public, but I love to catch a buzz and have figured out how much I need in a Vapcap. I am uncomfortable with the lighter in public and although 90% of my vaping is private, and I have been anti-IH for a long time, I think I'll get me a IH when Dynavap start building them.

I just took my Portside out for a spin with me last Sunday, and it was fabulous. It's not the Mini, it's the original Portside, but it was perfect and it quickly found a place in the car.

It's really the first time I've taken my VC's out and about because of the torch/crack appearance. And I can't wait for Dynavap's coffee mug version which will be sweet and even stealthier for being out and about.

and they better come up with a super small travel size as well additional to the cupsize home unit.

the potential XS IH is acceptable as long as it can heat a vapcap 10-12 times with one battery load.
thats enough.

the thing is, DV better put some innovative ideas into their own IH.
right now it appears to be less than a pipes IH

Might i suggest a chill pill Mr. S. "They better..." Take a step back.

You have no idea what their IH is like. No one has one yet, there've been no field tests, no beta testing, nada...We. Don't. Know.

And personally, what's stealthier than something that looks like a travel coffee mug-right now in downtown Boston I bet there are over 100,000 people walking around with coffee mugs-and maybe in a few weeks or days one of those mugs might just have a vapcap coming out of it instead of a straw.

A trousseau is a group of items such as clothing and household items collected by single women in anticipation of married life. It's a dowry or hope chest.
Mine's full of Vapcaps.

See you in the rabbit hole, and don't forget to bring some Devil's Lettuce with you.

No. Not a chill pill.
I am telling how things are to be done if you want to be competitive.
Product from the videos looks cheap and very basic.
If Pipes was a serious company and not a "private hobby guy" (no offense) he would outsell dynavap because his product his superior.
Wake up, DV is a company. They want to earn money. thats a fact.
they dont do this whole DV thing for fun and giggles. They earn money from this.
and they have to be better than the competition if they want to earn money in the future.

And I dont need beta test and such.
The mug has a cheap plastic lid and a shaky inlet for the VC that is not hold into place and seems to have no press down mechanism.
I hope DV proves me wrong. But for what it's worth they are miles behind pipes' IH solution.

from what I have seen DV creates their own IH, ok.
But it is not new and there is a better solution on the market right now.

chill or not chill.
I dont care
I am just telling how it is.... from a customer's perspective.

How can a company with such beautiful devices like the omnivap XL, 7fin tip and exotic vongs dare to present us cheap, wobbly plastic items like the "feeder" and the looks of their IH.
They have put the electronics in a togo Cup. Bravo.

Sorry you're having a bad day. But who are you to tell a company what to do? I understand you have a preference for a small IH and that seems to piss you off that it's not the first one DV produced. What has Dynavap's track record been so far as it relates to customer service and listening to what we want? Also, since you haven't had it in your hands, only seen it flash across the screen for a few seconds, how do you know with such certainty that it's cheap, that there's a shaky inlet? The inlets on Portsides don't hold VC's up straight-they lean. In fact, just last week after I spoke about how a coffee mug could be stealthy you got excited about it.

I'm not suggesting that a small IH isn't a good idea. I think it is. I would love one that looks like a Dynastash. But let's wait to see what George and his team have ACTUALLY come up with before we criticize it.

Dude, remember? It’s legal in Taxachusetts.

ID like to Beta test the DV IH up and around Bacon Hill just to see if I can get a reaction

There's legal, and then there's discrete. I've been doing this pretty openly since the 70's when I was in Texas and could actually do hard time, but I've always been discrete and stayed safe; it's hard to lose that habit.

And I still travel through lots of illegal states when I'm on tour-so it's probably best I remain discrete til we make some long-term decisions about cannabis and prohibition in all 50 states.

Easy fix. Before you start your torch just scream to everyone around you “This isn’t crack!”

Then do your thing.

Ya, well, I have been doing it since I was 12.

I think we're suffering from the spotlight effect. Realistically most people aren't going to even notice what you're doing at all, especially if you're coördinated enough to heat and walk at the same time.

I'm still not totally used to it being legal either and don't just toke up anywhere but if it's a place where it would be ok to smoke a cigarette (ya know, like, not directly in front of the door to the bar where the lazy and inconsiderate smokers do) I don't worry about it.

Dude I met one of new best friends and it actually changed me from being a loner stoner. I met him last December outside a Tom Thumb. I did something I never thought I would but I shared my dynavap with him. He kind of got freaked out because he thought I was doing meth. Meth's a problem here. I didn't offer out out of the blue he was smoking with a friend. It was cold and we started talking about the weather at first. Anyways the topic of weed came up and that's when I grabbed my dynavap and gave him good a hit after first telling him about it.

I got him one and he finally converted to exclusively vaping bud now! It only took like two weeks!

I think that's pretty accurate. What I learned during my 40+ year criminal career is that if you act like what you're doing is okay and normal most folks don't waste a second glance. We are all the center's of our own universes. But if you act furtively, or suspiciously folks do take notice.

Couple of things here.........yes, I think a chill out would be good today. For those looking for IH miniaturization, we’re competing with physics here. An IH is a relatively high current device, and needs a good PS and some healthy sized induction coils to do its magic. As far as affordable tech goes right now, the mini IH from @Pipes is about as small as you can practically get for now. Hand for wishes, hand for shit, which one will fill faster?

As far as out an about with the VC, I live in an illegal state and have it out and about every single day. Discretion is the key. Inside my favorite grocery store/bar (yes, that’s a real thing here) it’s just a quick step away to the upstairs restroom. 2 quick hits, boom, back to the beer. Seriously, I have a fucking grocery store 20 min from my house with 36 taps and an Enoteca wine bar. And pub food, fresh pizza, a seafood grill and a cheese grill. Every community needs a place like this.....now to just add Devils Lettuce to the menu!
