Thanks guys. Yeah, I always liked your old bubbler too Boobs. There is an imo extremely low priced GC/Snob colab bubbler that always reminds me of your Sheldon Black when I see it, lemme see if I can find it.

Yeah, got it:

I probably would have gotten that one if it hadn't had worked out with the MG guy. I do prefer the flared mouthpiece myself though, that was kinda a must for my first bub.

It's made by Torsten Frohlich from Magic Glass Germany (I believe there is also a Chinese devision) from 5mm thick schott duran glass.

I got this trough a well connected forum buddy but I'm not sure if he wants to be known. I think I'm just going to let him reveal himself if he wants to. You can order it through GC as well though. That version doesn't have the slits in the arms btw, those were extra :)

Very nice. I'll be looking out for Magic Glass stuff from now on. Your bubbler has similarities with the custom piece I'm working on, like the removable mouthpiece: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/im-designing-a-custom-bubbler.6665/

This is an amazing bargain on GC. 115 euros, is that a mistake??? http://www.grasscity.com/eu_nl/glasscity-8-arm-tree-perc-glass-bubbler-snob-glass-collaboration.html <If I wasn't already building a bubbler, I'd buy that right now.

Yeah, it's been priced like that for a while now so I assume it's legit. It wasn't available for a long time though, I was actually surprised to see it in stock again recently. That Linda girl did a video review of sometime ago if you want to see it in action, btw.

To be honest I'm still contemplating getting one of those anyway....

How is that custom bubbler coming along? I do remember seeing that thread a while ago.

I just checked out your tumblr btw, I saw some pretty cool shots in there

Are any of those from Siberia (the shop) perhaps? I haven't been there in ages, but it was my fav hangout in Amsterdam in the late '90's.

OhTheAgony,
Hell yea the removable mouthpiece will be on my next bub purchase. Hey OhTheAgony do you own a SSV glycerin tube? Is that mouthpiece 19mm?

heheh same here, I'm thinking about getting the GC one as a backup, the price seems unbelievable for what you get (I wonder if they know about this in the cheap bubbler thread?)

Thanks for the comments on the photos, glad you like em. I haven't taken photos in Siberie yet, but I'll do that very soon.

About my custom bubbler - I'm working out the final details with the glassblower, will post in the thread when it moves forward!

I didn't post it in the cheap affordable thread because it's over the 100$ price-mark, but yeah, they're missing out on this one ;)

Cool, I'll try to remember to keep an eye out for the pictures then.

Awesome that you found a local glassblower who does custom work btw. I tried finding one in the northern regions of our countries some time ago, but unfortunately I couldn't come to an agreement with any of the few I found.

Sweet!!! I want one! I could use the glycerin tube as a mouthpiece!

I should have thought of this earlier, but the bub isn't all that stable with it's original mouthpiece..I'm afraid it might tip over with anything heavier..

So i retired my MFLB a couple months ago and i had a spare WPA sittin around. I took the glass out of the wood and to my amazement *KABAM* Free Male To Male 14mm glass adapter! Its a little uneven on the side that isn't the GonG joint, but it still holds my nail very nicely! So who ever has an extra WPA layin around and needs a 14mm male to male.... Your Welcome!!!!!!!

I have that one and use it for dabbing.

That looks pretty clean Bleak. How thick is that glass & would you mind sharing how much it costs?

Hey Fidget, could you share some irl pics sometime, or perhaps even a video of it in action? :brow:

Thankyou! I'm not sure on the glass thickness, but it feels fairly solid.

It was on special with a 30% discount, and ended up being 122 euros. I added the diffused downstem, which was another 22 euros. It came with a standard downstem and a bowl, which I'm keeping for spares.

Man, I can't believe how many of you are dumping so many sweet pieces. Wish I would win the damn lottery already!

I made a new video, Da Buddha with Lux bubbler..

Meant to thank you for those awesome shots. I especially loved the perc views, with the different levels. Which do you prefer? #2 looks to be more chuggy, but actually looks preferable to me.

I like the higher water level with this piece. You're right, it makes it more chuggy. With the lower water level, its more 'fizzy', you can't really feel the bubbles. I've settled on filling it about 1cm above the percolator holes.

I don't think diet cola will work. In fact, you might have to try and get your hands on the Mexico Cokes, which are made with cane sugar still (which is the difference between REAL Classic Coke and the newer "Classic" Coke, which uses corn syrup). Go figure.

Wait... try and get your hands on a white label Pepsi (not diet). They're made with sugar. I believe its the chemical reaction with the acidity in the cola, plus the sugar... that does the breaking down.
I was worried about that. The diet uses citric acid and may be weaker. Try regular cola or if you want to buy a purpose built solution you might try Acid Magic, a little safer than say making a concentrated phosphoric acid solution yourself out of toilet bowl cleaner or something . . .

While the mexican coke was pretty easy to find 40 minutes from Mexico, after a week or two in the ashcatcher the cork still hasn't dissolved even a little bit.

Cheapest bottle of acid magic I can find is like, 75% of the price I paid for the glass itself haha
Just glad this didn't happen to an actually nice piece..

ok, so its time to ransack the house, or your friends, for anything that is an acid or base that we can use that won't cost an arm and a leg, if anything at all. I'm thinking toilet bowl cleaner, bleach, pool & spa chemicals etc . . . maybe even a super concentrated cleaner of some type?

I do have a spa, but not too many chemicals. Just have an oxidizer (Potassium Peroxymonosulfate) a scale-prevention liquid, and chlorine tablets.

Cleaner wise, got:
-Simple Green
-Windex
-"Comet with Bleach" which is a cleaning powder
-This sketchy clogged-drain melter that contains Lye (didnt even know we had lye in the kitchen :o)
-99% isopropyl alcohol

Any of those stand out as having a good chance of getting this cork dissolved :science: ?

Yes a lot of them do, just use appropriate caution for the substance. Lye, for instance, can be tricky and explosive. Does a great job when used properly for the right application though. The oxidizer might be your best bet. I have been working with it lately with excellent results. Pour some crystals in there, use caution eyes etc, and some hot water to make a super concentrated solution and give that some dwell time and see what happens. Dupont Potassium Peroxymonosulfate should be able to oxidize (ie get rid of) this shit . . .

Edited to add: If we want to go acid, which might be a good idea before the oxidizer, the trichlor (you said tablets I believe) may work nicely although I use Dichlor crystals. When mixed with water it forms hypochlorous acid, this is what kills bad guys in your pool water, and we can use a concentrated solution of this acid to help break down the natural waxes that I think are protecting this cork. Maybe the oxidizer will do it straight away, probably will, but you never know until you try. Keep it safe :peace:

I was keeping the glass with the cola in it, simply in a cabinet in my bedroom. But if I was letting it sit in the chlorine water or the oxidizer, it should probably be in a ventilated area outside a bedroom, yes?

Also, yes the tablets are trichlor.
As for the actual procedure, can the acid soak just be for an hour or two? Then dump that out (then wash with water?) and fill it up with a hot-oxidizer solution and let sit til it hopefully dissolves?

Thanks a bunch for the advice
