Love MDB but i've never been able to get into the 34.788% album. But I remember listening to it in bed years back when it was new(ish) when i had a fever and had some crazy dreams i still associate with the album to this day.

Favorite My Dying Bride album would be hard as hell to choose... A Line of Deathless Kings or maybe Turn Loose the Swans? Songs of Darkness was a good one too tho... hell, i always just put their discography on shuffle.

love their recent take on Scarborough Fair

orchestra + choir + metal band (lead by a modern-day classical genius) = aural sex

http://youtu.be/pTpI4AsP9b0
http://youtu.be/B2s-EnzF7cg (track ends about half way through, the rest is just bowing and ending credits)

youtube quality definitely doesnt do it justice (cant even hear some of the instruments, especially strings at times). getting vaked and listening to this album or any Therion is an epic voyage to space out on.

(one for those familiar with Dvorak's symphonies)

I was introduced to this just released album last night by Not Blood Paint. Those of you in NYC area might know of these guys. I'd like to give them a bump, especially George (who I have watched grow up). Check out their album on their site and I've included a YouTube vid of a performance they gave. They are into giving a real good show and any of you that are in NYC/BK should really check them out.

Here's a vid from a year ago or so... not the best sound quality, etc., but you get the drift of their music.

sprechen sie deutsch? doesnt matter, this songs so god damn catchy even if you don't - like most of the bands songs.

Also probably the most nudity you'll see on a youtube video... lol

steiner666,
Northern African music is sweet.

People are way too into electronic music... It's the death of performance and the glorification of sequence. I don't get it.

There's nothing wrong with sequencers. They are a perfectly legitimate way of making music, and are way of creating certain aesthetic qualities impossible with traditional instruments. And remember, if you're listening to studio produced music, then it's not really all that much less electronic than your average techno.

Performance, on the other hand, can be too much of a focus for some people, who listen to music and attend perdformances more to marvel at the technical ability of the musicians than to enjoy the actual tunes they play. Now that is the death of music.

I just want to hear good, interesting music, regardless of how it is made.
