Nice videos! Do you know where I can buy an ELB top hat screen cheaply? Do you just leave the WPA screen in, and the ELB screen fits securely over it? Cleaning that thing is annoying and if this solves it, I'm buying one. Thanks.

Could you post a picture of this? I would be open to trying it...what would I need to buy? Thanks for the help.

The ELB top hat only comes in the ELB kit - which is about 20 bucks for four ELBs. However another economical option is to look for the Arizer Q bucket screens - which were about $6 for two at my local head shop. They're basically the same as the ELB top hat. I dont use my ELBs with the CFV, I use the Arizer set. They come as a set with two flat circular screens as well.

As for the screen, you can use the one from the Arizer Q kit to do this mod, which I have photos of posted previously here: http://fuckcombustion.com/posts/1074632/

    Enjoy!

Thanks for the info. Until I read your post, I thought the "ELB" screen WAS the Extreme Q bucket screen. haha..forgot about the VapeXhale one.

I looked for the Extreme Q screens at about 6 smoke shops in Las Vegas and couldn't find any. I have looked at a few places online, but the shipping is more than the screens cost. I found 4 on ebay for $13 shipped. Do you know of a better option? Thanks.

EDIT: Googling the product didn't work so well...I found a screen pack (2 buckets and 2 flat screens) at puffitup for $6 and then at vapornation for $4.49 shipped, if anyone else is looking for them.

    Hello all!

Another DIY mod for the Boundless CFV.

    CFV with MiniVap teflon core.

The teflon core is the MiniVaps claim to taste fame so I wanted to incorporate it with the CFV.

Here is a pic of the large MiniVap teflon ring next to the glass CFV ring.:)

The MiniVap teflon ring is the same size inside and outside diameter.;)

I very carefully ground the teflon ring with my bench grinder.:uhoh:

I sanded the edge of the MiniVap teflon ring smooth with some 180 grit sandpaper.:|

After a bit of sanding I was able to get the top perfectly straight and the same size as the included rings.

CFV with MiniVap teflon core ring!

The new ring teflon ring fits perfect!

A new addition to the CFV.

Good job pal, but I'm sorry I don't feel the least excited when you mention teflon... to each his own beliefs and religions! :worms:;)

@Alegre with the RBT basket screen in it it performs much like the MiniVap.

I should have mentioned I use an RBT screen with the CFV so the load is in the basket hanging in the chamber not touching the chamber walls similar to the MiniVap.

I don't own and have never tried a MiniVap so I wouldn't know how that works but I have to try that RBT screen mod in my CFV......need to find those screens first.

Thanks for all the mods you post....i always look forward to what you're going to come up with next!

Has anyone had luck getting the CFV water tool to produce visible vapor?

I can take the first and second (massive) rips with the normal top and get good vapor production.

Switch to the bubbler top and no more visible vapor (even extending the draw and turning up the heat (I usually use 200C in my CFV.)

That's the opposite of what the problem was at release. Try the o-ring that's on your mouthpiece on the wpa.

Not sure if you're talking about just the WPA or mini bubbler but same applies to both. I'm kind of a lightweight to middleweight but I like to step the hell out of this vape. I start on 375 and get a strong taste but not always visible vapor and feel the effect. But it tastes so good I wouldn't waste it on the bubbler. Once I get up to the 4th or 5th hit, with a temperature of as little as 385 I use the mini bubbler and get good hits, very cool vapor and its visible. I was a preorder and have been very pleased all the way around with its efficiency and the most stealthy mini bubbler I've seen. I actually use the mini bubbler on occasion walking on the streets of New York, but am on my second as the first broke in my back pocket. My only complaint is the glass is kind of thin, but it works well and for the size cools it enough to turn it up to 420 or so and definitely get a visible vapor hit near the end, which is quite a while, as this is probably the most efficient vaporizer I've tried in terms of milking the THC out. But you may not be getting as much if you're taking giant visible vapor hits. I'm taking 10 to 15 second draws with the bubbler and without and definitely seeing vapor sometimes at least for 10 hits, and usually take 1 to 2 hits and turn it off in between.

The o ring is on the inside of the mouthpiece don't see where an o ring would go on the bubbler?

yeah man, looks like a brain fart by me. At one point early on I replaced the oring outside the bowl with a slightly bigger one to test with. That's the only place I can think of where you can tighten up the air flow with the wpa. Any chance your wpa is damaged or deformed just a little somewhere to let some air in?

    I can't figure it out.

There were absolutely no instructions in the bubbler box.

Eric told me to fill to just below the brass ring (on the central stem).

I threw a querstion out and I don't remember which Boundless thread.

For you @stickstones to become Jeopardy champ:

If boundless says their regular (metal) WPA is supposed to fit the CF, CFX, CFV and CF hybrid why is the small bubbler only fit the CFV??

How do you got the protective film OFF ??

I have Problem with the airflow and like to check if something is blocking the intake air.
    Maybe the rubber seal?

But I'm not able or don't know how to remove the bottom plate :-(

    Thanks

Never mind!! I fixed my Air Flow Problem allready!

Hey all, created an account to share this info around as Boundless haven't appeared to release the material report on the CFV (at least that I could find anyway) and thought many could find this useful. So reaching out to Boundless on multiple occasions regarding this and other queries left me with no response every time, which is disappointing, maybe because I told them that I live in London and they didn't see it fit to respond to customer queries overseas. Anyway, I contacted Vaposhop as they're authorised sellers (great service all the way from pre purchase questions to aftercare - thoroughly recommend them) to see if they could find anything out, and after reaching out to their contacts in Boundless, got back to me with a report.

I've tidied up the below as it was copied from a spreadsheet file I received, if there is a better way to share this file/information, please let me know.

I recently got this vape to try out. I have the CF and the CFX and love them both. I use the ELBs with both.
After getting used to the VapCap. I at first thought the wispy vapor on beginning rips with wood was lame.
I keep forgetting vapor doesn't always show itself.
I set it aside for a moment to see how it handled coming back to later. I didn't think I had gotten any vapor at all. Well it zoned me out. Couple hours later I realized I had not finished the load. I picked it up and turned it on. The load was just sitting there waiting for me. That's cool.
I'm more of a micro-doser, so I don't fill the ELBs but half full.
I drop a ELB top hat, (cover), on top of the wood ring and under the screw down locking ring.
I also like the CFX's mouthpiece, (some call it the cooling unit), better than the OEM mouthpiece. I'm gonna try the quartz ring next.
I kinda like this thing, and I finally got my "Filling Funnel". Doc

Try long and hard inhalations. The heater is more than capable but you have to work the hits out and overcome the draw restriction. It does follow your efforts nicely though. I never feel underwhelmed by the hits I get.

Set it also higher on the display than the temperatures you are used to with conduction vapes. I start all my sessions around 195°C for instance (whereas I start my conduction vapes between 175°C and 185°C))

420 deals on this unit look good.
Think i might get an all black unit with a wpa..not too interested in metal ring. one question i understand this unit is convection..does it leak vapor when your not actively hitting it?
