Can anyone with the Arizer power adapter confirm whether it pops out like the Jameco one when rotated?

My stock PA can be disconnected when rotated while I'm water vaping .
Now I keep an eye on it so it doesn't , I've mentioned before , that I like to time my sessions by the clock .
ie ; turn it on at 12:00 ; 12:12 ; 12:24 will be the intervals , even when using the PA , I do this .
But it works best when portable , so you know when it shut off last .

I don't have a Jameco PA , so I can't comment on the popping off part .

The Jameco one is too sensitive for my liking and im really beginning to see why a power adapter/stand combo is attractive, especially if it clipped onto the Solo without being an eye sore.

EDIT:
Ah I've been keeping everything loose and fluffy because I though it would help, most of my bowls have been 0.1g or less, I'll try 0.2g more densly packed next time, thanks for the excuse to use more! :D
Right, but remember that the Solo is mostly conduction heating and heat radiation with secondary convection going on to build the vapor and help move it up the stem. Heat conduction, similar with electricity, moves from one molecule to the next better, faster, and more consistently due to closer proximity to one another, hence, a tighter pack. When ABV amount dominates over yet unspent erb found more towards the middle of the pack, I give a little stir and then re-pack/press it back down a bit with a domed screen - all neat, tidy and ready to go for another bunch of rips.

Please let us know if a tighter pack starts working better for you. Always a lively topic with several different opinions and experiences. Interested to know!

Fwiw I sometimes pull the stem nearly out of the solo and I still get the same abv as when the stem is in contact with the bottom of the bowl. Must be quite a bit of convection imo then since its still all vaping from the bottom and not the sides of the stem that are actually in contact with the heating element. But I could be wrong, I have only owned my solo for a couple weeks now

And is there anyway to upload pictures straight from an iPhone, I can't seem to figure it out?

There have been extended talks about the Solo being mostly convection or conduction and the facts point more towards convection plus radiation!

Now, if you pack the hell out of it and you leave the stem in you are gonna get some more conduction for sure but that's about it... It won't turn into a Pax!

I would suggest light loads, good airflow, not leaving the stem for long without inhaling and you got yourself a convection beast right there! Plus you get much better taste and your herbs will last you longer... ;)

Finally got the my Ryot axe pack case and all the rest of the vape goodies I ordered! And like I said a few pages back here are some pictures of the case. Damn It was a good week for me in the mail, I received- 2 Jyarz (these are great), a thermovape smooth-flow (pleastly suprised with it) , some doob tubes, 3 in 1 pipe cleaning tool, a pipes aio pa:rockon:, and 2 straight pvhes which I love, and the 10 inch Ryot case. Big thanks to the forum as I found most of these items on here in the past couple weeks since I've joined.

The case fits my needs perfectly, super easy to access everything quickly, and fits everything safely I need for a day. On the inside one side is super padded with velcro straps to secure the solo and stems in (in travel cases loaded and capped), and a small padded hole for small glass. On the other side is a velcro strap for a grinder, small detachable zipper pouch, and small elastic bands to lock whaterer you want in place. Personally I also dig the outside a lot. Hard case with carbon fiber looking print, and on the back is a nice rolling or bowl preparing platform. In the 10 inch case it fit-
1 arizer solo
2 pvhes in travel tubes
1 thermovape smooth-flow in carrying tube
1 3 in 1 cleaning tool
1 4 piece sharpstone grinder
2 Jyarz
1 doob tube- These are perfect for dumping abv into on the go, they are perfect size for the solo stems
2 lighters
1 bag unfortunatly filled with a bit of tabacco:bang:
1 small pipe:uhoh:

everything pretty well has a spot except the Jyarz, but when closed they fit very snugly due to all the padding give.

sorry for the long post- just a bit excited for all the new stuff to play with. Here are some pictures **WARNING** does contain pictures of insturments used for combustion:o

I know I know, but 2 weeks into the portable and I'm down to only smoking a bowl or two a day. I'm sure it's just habit when my arthritis flares up but I'm almost there... Keep 'em crossed for me

Edit- now I'm around a gram a day whereas before it was an easy2-3

If anyone here was interested in a PNWT or f-bomb for their solo, you should really go check out the glassblowersdirect.com thread, Sam made a clone that isn't on his website. There is a picture of it that was posted today and he is only asking $59.99 for it. Also it has no labels on it which I know a lot of people prefer. Only problem is he only ships to US, not even Canada last I checked.

Finally found this again, thanks.

My gf keeps saying the solo gets her higher than my extreme q. So now we are going to be a two Solo family, since mine goes everywhere with me.

After some very carefull testing with some Key Lime Pie ( Jack Harer x Trainwreck x Lemon Skunk ) I can definetly say, uh maybe er no but differ but yeah whatever we are getting another Solo! Woot woot!

Thanks guys, I'm loving the new goodies, now I want some key lime pie in my case^^^ looks delicious Detonator!

And at Snappo, the pipe and solo are more "brushing shoulders" :love:haha, the mouthpiece is on the far end from the solo.

Also I first posted when I got the solo that I didn't think it would touch the q for home use. Now like detonator I haven't even used it. I eat my words, I now use my solo and pa always. Just tastes better then the extreme q IMO

@sasNW usin my smooth flow on my solo. And wow does it make a difference. Makes dry hits smooth, and I've had a problem with that if I'm left to only use my solo for long periods of time. This may change that. Thanks for sneakin that smooth flow in that pic and giving me the idea!

Can you refer me to a pic of the Solo w/the Smooth Flow, or take a pic and post here. Thanks!

Sadly I don't have a photobucket anymore, but all you do is stick it in the stem! The oring on the smooth flow fits perfect. It's amazing! And the pic is up a bit on this page. snsNW posted it with his new case for his solo.

Hey guys, need some advise. Managed to break my stem last night...:ugh:
So was thinking, is it possible to cut just behind the glass internal screen? That would allow for use with an added screen further up where it gets narrower again.

Normally I would tape it, etch it and snap, but because of where the break is, there is not much to grip.
Anybody heard of a method for this? Was going to try and grind with dremel, but before I bust it, figured best to ask first.
TIA

Bummer. I'd probably try to grind though it with diamond coated cut off wheels.

However, many years ago I worked at a place that had a glass shop. One day I watched 'the old man' for a while. When faced with a similar problem he used a novel technique. He cut a groove where he wanted the cut, all the way around. He then heated it some, no where near softened, but plenty hot. He then laid a damp piece of string in the groove to cool it rapidly at that point only, worked like magic. The stub just fell off.

I think it was water, but it could also have been kerosene on the string. I bet reading up some will fill in the details.

Good luck.

I watched that glass stuff on youtube from a link in this thread or another. It is really interesting and it was water OF.

As far as the smooth flow, when I first got the solo after wanting to toss it out the window, I put on a smooth flow cause my throat was bad as well. I used a piece of silicon and attached it to the end of the stem. It worked great. I will say I don't need it anymore on this vape. I think your throat either gets used to it or maybe we adjust our draw:shrug:.

My feeling is to chuck the whole thing. Why? Because it appears to me that the screen also acts as a load bearing bridge that adds rigidity to the circumference of the bowl. Notice that the breakage and crack stopped mostly before the screen. Take that away and you risk breaking again easier than the first time. JMO

Thanks for the confirmation, Lady. Water makes more sense for sure. I think the reason kerosene is sticking in my head is the other way around as a method of cutting bottles and the like. You make the scratch, tie the soaked string on the bottle cold and then light the string. Again, it's the local heat that stresses the glass?

On the adding water/smooth flow idea a while back I suggested those interested in experimenting with the idea could get more effect with either a piece of water soaked cotton cloth or a cotton pipe cleaner. In either case put some in the top inch or two of the stem, but not enough to block the airflow. It's cheap, has lots more surface area and holding capacity and is easy to replace when it gets fouled.

I guess nobody followed up on the idea (not that it's anyone's job to do so of course.......), I think I'll give it a try then? I don't personally feel a need to add water at this time, but some do and the idea is a fun one to me.
