I'm chuckling to myself...takes some real chutzpah to call Bud a shill, particularly considering some really obvious shills and touts on FC for various vapes.

Yes, his review surprised me too, but no....he's not a shill in my experience.

FC rules do not permit shills. If you can prove someone is shilling, report the member and we'll deal with it. If you can't prove it, don't post innuendo slandering unnamed members.

So my 5 day old Grasshopper just stopped charging :/

When I plug it in using the provided charger the LED's don't light up at all, and the part of the charger with the logo on it gets super hot. Just submitted a warranty request, will have to see what they say.

That happened with mine (albeit took longer).

I'd recommend looking into an external battery charger. xstar and nitecore are both reliable brands that charge the GH batteries. I think there is a design flaw regarding the charging, but if you don't mind using an external charger it could alleviate that. I live in Canada and didn't want to deal with postage, so I ended up trying an external charger which fixed my issue.

At the risk of pissing off a few people who don't want to talk about this anymore, here's VapeCritic's response to the criticism on the VapeLife forum:

LOL, maybe because you sound like you don't want to review it?!?... Seriously though it was painful to watch so if this is having fun, hopefully he was at least high. Funny how I can get more stoned from the GH in less time than what he considers a 'top tier' vape. Oh and it's half the cost with a LT warranty. Ffs. Oh well. Guess I'll go back to not watching his videos.

Really though maybe I expect too much from reviewers. I expect them to have an objective perspective. Not just their experience.

For example, its clear that the critic must live in a place where mj is completely legal. I don't have access to concentrates. The GH fulfils the needs I had. I also don't feel like spending 20-30 minutes for a 'session'. Huge points he seems to have missed.

Ha yes, spot on. The ability to destroy a bowl and get totally smashed in around a minute is a huge win for sure.

I will reserve my own judgement and form my own impressions when my Hoppers arrive (July 2015 preorder)

However there is another raved about vape that VC has also given a not very great review on.....and even wishes he could get his money back after using it.

Check out his Sublimator review. Also, even though he does show water tool usage a lot of his use seems to be direct draw vaping where vapor temps are a huge factor.

One of my favorite vapes (Venus Apollo) works brilliantly through water but I wouldn't be interested in hitting it directly due to the vapor temp.

If that is the case with the GH then I will just have to whip it to cool the vapor with a longer vapor path for additional cooling.....but since I almost exclusively vape through water I don't think heat will be an issue

It excels through water, falling just short of the very best desktop vapes. We're talking Cloud Evo almost from a pen.

It isn't the best vape out there for direct mouth inhales out of the box but as you say can be fixed by extending the vapour path.

It is however the most compelling and satisfying portable vape I've encountered by a long margin.

Finally, perfection doesn't exist... Yet! But its close with a few tweaks here and there.

Even highly regarded vapes aren't for everyone. I don't think too highly of the Evo, but I know it's a crowd favorite and that my opinion on it wouldn't fly with most. Conversely, I've had favorites in the past that many wouldn't touch at all (Versa) and have very disparaging things to say about.

To each their own. Cannabis is the holy grail (Ataxian TM), not the heat generators that we use to enjoy it.

I personally don't seem to share in most experiences that other people report are "too hot" (I must have a higher heat tolerance than most), but I'll find out for myself (hopefully soon [March 2015 pre-order/ 5/27 Add Confirm; still no shipping notification]) if I can take the GH heat.

The GH is my first vape and I am very happy with it.

Batterie-Time is a little short, but I can live with that. No heat problem for me at all (GT with cap).
The finish looks nice, but the Mouthpiece cap (not the silicon cap) is not 100 % plan.

It's been a while folks. A long while. I needed to get away from this place because I was reading every single comment and for a while it was pissing me off that no progress was being made.

However, I digress. I came back to say that four days ago I got my shipping address confirmation, and today I got my shipping confirmation. My grasshopper's ETA is this Saturday! I know we've probably heard or seen everything to do with the hopper by now, but if there is anything anyone would like to see/know just let me know.

P.S. My order date was January 30, 2015. Ti Hopper.

The battery life is the most legit complaint. Some people are fine with it but tend to be one hit wonders. For a person who is replacing smoking and enjoys the habit of smoking, this device is awesome because for example vaping other herbs and tobacco the GH provides very satisfying vapor.

The problem for me is that vaping tobacco and herb mix is delicious and has been a great cigarette replacement for me putting a much heavier demand on battery usage.

I am pretty an outlier for heavy use of the device and I would definitely pay A LOT more for an "all day" battery upgrade. Too bad I am probably such a minority of consumers that the production costs aren't worth it.

I probably use 3 batteries a day which really isn't that inconvenient to swap them out, really a pet peave and since batteries are only 7 bucks I think most people will just rather buy 2 extra $7 battery as opposed it say 1 $50 extra battery.

In other news I've finally tried the cotton-concentrate method wrapping some rosin in cotton. Forgive if I already mentioned this but the legislature is out so that means "school is out for summer" I've been a birdhead of late

Tried it on temp 5, great results. I used a tiny amount since I was worried about it melting in the heater. Totally a paranoid fear, still I wouldn't recommend packing in a gram, but anyway, the second time I made a "caviar bowl" a little bud of blue dream on the bottom then a cotton dab on blue dream rosin on top that is just scrate tweetin yo' self.

Amazing flavor and insta-birdhead and you get a decent amount of hits. It's a lot of work so and the grasshopper is so good with just flower that I won't do it all the time but it's definitely a great way to use the grasshopper

Just kind of in defense of battery life, I don't really think vape manf have much they can do about this. Yes, they can do everything they can to make their heating system as efficient as possible but we are, after all, asking for a lot of power consumption for "instant on" and to vape at fairly high temps for a hand small held device.

Increasing power storage efficiency....battery capacity, performance, and reliability....is a major industry push for many other more common applications than vaping. The state of the art has advanced tremendously and what we have today was not possible all that many years prior. I think this trend will continue.

Just my random thoughts. LOL

THANK YOU for posting. I have been very tempted to just order one of the very expensive GH listings from Ebay. I went ahead and ordered a SS from this EU site instead...fingers crossed. My titaniuim that I ordered in April....theoretically....may not be here by Christmas!

Thanks for your order! Although we are indeed a EU based shop, we have good experience shipping to US customers - the only caveat being that shipping can take some time (12-15 days). I'm looking into if we can offer express shipping (which we offer standard in Europe) as well. Feel free to shoot us a message or email should you have any questions!

:p Grasshopper available here since today(SS & Ti) : https://www.vaposhop.com/vaporizers/portable_vaporizers/grasshopper-vaporizer/
-10% FC discount code : VAPOBUST
Wow, $100 dollar premium and, like some above, I'm USA based so there will be shipping and perhaps customs charges (not sure on the last part).

Does anyone have any idea why this UK based shop, as well as Vape Fiend which I think is also UK based, can get stock but here people have to wait? Thsi is no shot at either UK based outlets...I understand they are pretty outstanding to deal with....but just curious why the difference in availability?

Cheers

Hey,
I also thought of ordering a hopper from you. Could you let us know how many SS & TI hoppers you currently have in stock? Just to make sure if I need to hurry. Also, I noticed that you don't have spare batteries in stock. Do you expect to get some soon?

We received only a part of our order (also not including the batteries), and it's moving quite fast. When placing your order today you should be OK though! We currently don't have an ETA yet on the batteries (and other accessories), I hope to have news on this soon.

Thanks for your quick response :) So I should better order one asap.

One more question: Will you handle warranty requests or would I need to send it to Hopper Labs in case of a warranty request? I'm from Germany btw...

They placed their orders a long time ago like anyone else. Just so happens they were quicker/smarter than a lot of people.

Thanks, Moe. So you think that UK based internet shops actually ordered it early while similar USA based shops dallied around? Interesting. Thanks
