Oh my god, I'm probably going to have to leave this thread, another 2 pages about the fucking vape critic. There needs to be vapor lounge thread discussing him or something bc this is truly ridiculous...

Meanwhile I still haven't used mine through water much, but out and about last night was great, ripped it at 2.5 in a bookstore no issues, then temp step finished my bowl outside, closing with 3 really strong hits at 4.25/380ish, before a movie. A little hot and harsh but the breeze outside helped I think. Also though it was sessioned I took beats in between hits with it off and it cooled quickly. It works for what it is, and works well. There are negatives but they are manageable for most, a few will have issues with that and will just move on or wait for GH2 (aka Locust ;))

Enough about the vape critic, we're here bc user reviews are more valuable!

Vape critic, we still love you! Just DONT EVER FUCKING DROP A HOPPER LIKE THAT AGAIN!!!!:lmao:
That reminds me, and I'm a little surprised nobody commented... One of VC's critiques/complaints was that he didn't like the clip and he said he thought he was going to break it off or remove it.

I guess if he does, he'll discover its additional function; to stop the gh from rolling off the table!

There isn't really all that much to talk about right now, as evidenced by how dead this thread has been. I'm just glad to see it active in here, and I think the discussion has been good.

Here's my portable set up from 5 years ago...

Sometimes we must endure to receive what we're chasing.
When I first got that pipe, there was no way I could clear a bowl in one hit.
Endure, persist, enjoy.

I feel like many people must have used a spoon pipe at some point, and so I don't consider the GH to warrant a single heat concern for a cannabis consumer, it's just another option.
For a self-proclaimed vaporist, sure - the GH heats up internally to 210°C and does so in a tiny space that you are bringing right up close to one of the most sensitive parts of the body.

What do you expect?
It's a hell of a lot nicer than that pipe!
And still, there are so many ways to tailor the experience to your liking.
The basic method, included in the box.

Modifications and accessories really make the GH shine.
They're not a necessity, but neither is the GH.

At the end of the day, this is about cannabis.
I support the GH so much because I want it for my lifetime.
Yes my opinions are personal, and I'm not going to pretend to hide my bias because seriously;

I miss it, and it's been days.
My cannabis is not the same without it.

Yes I can achieve very similar results, but not as quickly, discreetly or as simply.
Improvements to those aspects will take time and I'm expecting years before an upgrade is worthwhile.

And this, I think, is a most powerful endorsement which we have seen several times now. People who had a hopper and then have to be without it are, if not bereft, then certainly nowhere near as happy as they were when they had it. That carries more weight for me than any one reviewer's point.

The Hopper rides high in my rotation no, make that 'orbit' . . . yeah, orbit . . . 'cuz PlanetVeg is indeed orbited by a hazey and mystifying selection of vapes which are permanently at the ready to help resolve and relieve any and all a cosmic quandary . . . . .

Spacesuit up.
Hop on!

Just about sums it up. Im no fanboy of anything, I've been through a shitload of herb vapes in the past 18 months and the GH is the first that despite a few minor gripes has been the one that I go to now every time and all my other vapes became redundant.

Can also confirm that losing it for warranty work for 4 days was dire... So much so that I will buy another as soon as I can in order to be prepared next time I need warranty work.

Unless something miraculous comes along, I can't see me ever needing to look at another vape.

Oh and did anyone mention, So damn easy to maintain and keep clean, it's been a real joy to own.

At the risk of pissing off a few people who don't want to talk about this anymore, here's VapeCritic's response to the criticism on the VapeLife forum:

Now see, if he had said that stuff (in his second post there) in his review, it would have provided the context that would have made his views more understandable.

“even though it is clearly not a top tier vape and I have many issues with it."

Hmm, denser, tastier vapor than the Crafty, just as good of battery life as the Crafty (not mighty obviously, also not talking total time but number of bowls vaped), stealthier than Crafty, swappable batteries, but just not quite as smooth as the Crafty...and that doesn't qualify as a "top tier" vape?

I'll never trust another review from Vape Critic, and I was one of the few people on FC that before this review actually respected his opinion to some extent.

I recommend watching his review at 1.5x speed. It isn't terrible!
A comment I saw on YouTube rounded it well - complaining for the first 7 minutes, I guess it just set the scene wrong.
He wasn't persistent with his praise, but his complaints ranged from perfectly valid to pedantic things that obviously ruined his experience. Mainly, there was a lot of personal design gripes, and he presents in a fairly dry manner.
Any speculation about his personal life in this thread should probably be deleted, it's totally unnecessary.

This guy has the capacity to do fantastic reviews, ultimately I think this one just undercut a standard to be proud of. It's still good content, and a fantastic product overview.
It is a bit slow, just speed it up!

It's totally unrealistic for a product to receive only raving reviews, I guess he was just genuinely disappointed in the hopper.

....

I just want to comment on my views of the design; it looks sick, and it is really just a tapered cylinder with a button and clip. The function suits the form, and the camouflage effect is genuinely effective - it fooled my sister even with a discoloured silicone cap!
I guess the clip could be nicer looking, engraved with their logo or something, but it's plain look doesn't draw attention to itself. It's elegant, but completely modest. It's stealth factor is pretty awesome.

Funnily enough, I left a glass bong with the GH sticker on it in the kitchen, when my sister still thought the GH was a pen, it was on a table in another room next to my grinder. She said she only noticed the smell in the kitchen near the bong. She isn't too interested in cannabis, but she liked their logo, said it was 'cool', I agreed.

Also the clicker is an interesting choice for user control. And most people don't click it effectively on first use. You must click it with intention! It's pretty foolproof for a get-super-high device. I quite like the mechanical nature, switch on / switch off. It's a very kinetic device in my mind.

My back threading became quite smooth after a few weeks with 5 batteries.
And my clip has saved it from rolling to death a few times.

If you're talking about the post by @redbengledmadman, it was very clearly a joke, and he even said so at the end.

If it was so clearly a joke, then why did they make a new account to post it under instead of posting it under their regular FC screen name?

Anyways, I'm done with this discussion. I mean just over a disagreement about his review, people are calling him a crooked shill, people here have called him a flat out liar, and now people are bringing his family into it? That's not the type of thing I come to this forum for.

true, I was mainly referring to the trajectory ventured rather than any specific post.
I feel like I read some other more vague remarks, but I could be wrong or it might have been on YouTube.
Regardless, I agree with @ghost, that's more than enough discussion, I think it's been covered well overall.

GreenHopper

20 going on 60
The most frustrating experience I have had with the grasshopper was losing it on holiday 5 days after receiving it.

I have now been back in pre order purgatory for 7 weeks.

But it is better to have hopped than to never have hopped at all.

I like the device, so much so I've bought two extra to give to two very good friends of mine.

Considering my order was placed just under a year ago I'm a little disappointed not to have received them in time for the first of my very good friends birthdays. GHL now have 20 days to deliver them before missing the second of my friends birthdays. Which I'm highly (could be higher) doubting GHL will achieve.

Here is the thing though, I successfuly managed to convert one friend from smoking to vaping using a V2 Pro 3, with them eventually getting themselves a Flower Mate 5 (I think, it's late.... ).

The other friend has been very resistant to vaping, pah who am I kidding he's resistant just to the general concept of change. However he has quit smoking after becoming a father and having had a years T break my Pax 2 managed to change his mindset.

I have no doubt in my mind that GHL are going to deliver, I actually think they will get the orders to me and my friends before summer is over (only just though).

And when they do get them I think my friends will be delighted with them.

I know I will be (as in I actually know what I'm currently missing out on *shed a single tear*)

You see me and my friends are part of the 'used to smoke' crowd. We liked it! We sorta kinda miss it, not the sore throats after a heavy party or night out. Not the nasty smell of next day ashtray cloths. But the feeling of that draw filling the lungs is something I've only really had delivered to me by the GH since I quit smoking.

I take one decent sized toke from the thing and I'm good for an hour to an hour and a half. One of my friends is about the same. That's the guy who hit the Pax 2. He was quite shocked at how effective it was off of a single draw.

So neither of us are likely to run into the heat issues and in fact it's the heat and power of the device that throws us back to the feel of smoking but without any of the negatives.

My other friend is a giant so the laws of physics seem to apply differently to him. I think he will love the hopper but I think he will mostly use it through a water tool.

Knowing them and having had the hopper I know all three of us will appreciate the stealth factor of the device. The quick heat up and instant hit feeling. The high quality craft work and the lifetime warranty. The replaceable batteries and definitely the ease of cleaning, we are all for energy efficiency ;)

However I do share a couple of personal criticisms with the VC (these are my criticisms not my friends).

Number one is, I don't mind the clicker as a physical on switch but rather than the draw sensor and 18 second cut off I'd rather have a digital switch like the V2 Pro 3 had. So that's the the clicker and the digital switch. Ok fine and a cut off timer for those that have insane lung capacity or insist on holding the digital button down until the device explodes.

Number two is I'd have preferred to have had the temperature dial at least 180 degrees rather than 90 and for there to be notches at minimum for the existing 5 indicated temperature settings but ideally I'd have a notch for the intermediate settings too.

I'll be advising my friends to buy their own spare batteries (about 3 additional) and external chargers (XTAR are my choice). I've got nothing against the GH's internal charger but I like to charge and use without a teather.

I hope our hoppers arrive sooner rather than later. May they last a lifetime without warranty.

I dropped the bong
Okay, first post here, been lurking on this forum for a couple of months now learning about whats new in vaping technology. My only vape is the V-tower which I love, but most of my 420 friends aren't crazy about vaping it with me. It does get them stoned, but then they'll want to spark a bowl or a joint after, :spliff: Until recently, I never considered putting a vape to glass. Had no idea it can be done. Gotta try that. I'm researching on a good portable vape and I'm pretty sure the FF2 and GH will cover all my needs and I thing the Grasshopper would be something my friends would enjoy. I have made the V-Tower portable at times, but I need something smaller.

Anyway, just want to thank you all and the vapewizard guy on educating me and now I'm going get in the end of the line to wait on a titanium Grasshopper. Or two.
