Its like a salt grinder and slap chop in one lol. I have a 2 pc, its the puffitup one designed for the mflb, it grinds it somewhat fine but not magic flight fine. mf fine is right before powder and with the puffitup grinder it creates little chunks.

yea the the teeth are just to far apart. The sharks/pyramid teeth are what you want like the orange volcano grinder. People swear by it. I have a metal one with pyramid teeth and if i turn it too much its powder, especially if you overload it.

happyhippe,
Do you know any good, cheap sharktooth grinders, and do you recommend one with a storage place where the bud falls into or just a 2 pc?

The cheap ones are plastic 2 piece and have a lid on the back with no holes. you take the lid off get a nug grind it then dump it out. Check ebay. If you dont care about storage the volcano vape grinder is good. or maby you want metal for the long run just stay away from the ones with few teeth and the ones that say space metal/space material three cheap. This is the one i would get. Looks cheap but has a very hard finish on it, and grinds great, just like mine. slim design too

Review for Small 2 piece Space Case.

I call this unit the Panther because it sexy, sleek and pulverizes anything that comes in contact with its teeth.

Pre-Purchase inspection-Before pulling the trigger, I did some research on polished aluminum and titanium anodized aluminum.I found that titanium anodized aluminum had increased corrosion resistance, surface hardness and adhesion which is important, bad grooves and teeth can be detrimental to the grinder.Anodizing always has an option for dyeing with is purely cosmetic but its great to offer something different because not everyone is a fan of raw aluminum color.Along with all that fun scientific stuff, anodizing also lets the aluminum stay non-stick which is great for those of us that have very sticky vaporizing material.

First Impression[Before Usage]-When I received my package in the mail the first thing I thought was wow, this thing is compact.I opted for the small space case 2 piece, because it was cheaper and vaporize by myself mostly so I don't need to be grinding vast amounts of material. It was pretty shiny and it had a nice weight to it, wasn't too heavy but it wasn't to light.About the weight of a tangerine, which is good I could carry it in my pocket without a huge protuberance from my jeans.Teeth are sharp, sharp enough to cut my fingers if enough pressure was applied which I liked, no one needs a dull grinder.

Appearance/Aesthetics-
For a grinder this thing is pretty sexy and streamlined, I was amazed at the sheer size and attention to detail on it.The laser engraved Space Case Brand name on the top was done perfectly in bold lettering.Small braille like milling on the top and bottom, to provide a nice grip when grinding. Sharp blade like teeth and milled grooves to show where the teeth travel.Decent Quality O-ring to keep the friction between the top and bottom non existent and to keep the metal from wearing away. The black anodized aluminum has a very nice sophisticated look to it, I almost feel like its necessary to wear a monocle while grinding with this badboy.

Design-
Its a grinder, its main purpose is to grind material until its to your satisfaction, with that being said it does an outstanding job.
The blades are dangerously sharp and the grooves ensure that teeth will never collide, while supplying enough space for material to be ground proficiently. The milled bumps on the top of the grinder and the bottom half, gave each piece an incredible amount of gripe, i never found hands slipping while grinding. Also when holding i always had a nice grasp on the grinder, still haven't dropped it to this day..knock on wood!.Everything is the right length(teeth, top and bottom pieces) so you will never hear the dreaded screech of metal scratching into metal, which is pretty common in cheap and mass produced grinders.
Also there is a magnet inside the top of the grinder so that everything is nice and secure for traveling and keeping things tight.

Performance-
I selected a 2 piece grinder so my vaporizing material stays fresh and all the oils, pollen and flavors remain as a collective, instead of being separated, which usually happens in grinders with multiple pieces(3-5pc).This grinder does an amazing job at grinding my material down to a nice coarse consistency which i find most desirable when vaporizing, it provides good air circulation which allows for proper vapor cloud conditions. If material is ground too finely than it may vaporize and fall through the stainless steel screens, creating an unnecessary mess. If the material is too chunky than the air circulation will become too contricted and you will experience a hot spot while vaporizing and that can lead to combustion.Hot spot is when all the hot air is focused through one spot vaporizing it fast, leaving the surrounding diameter unvaporized. The magnets keep both top and bottom together and are great so theres no need to worry about your material falling out.
The teeth instantly shred through anything in its path,i never have to apply extra elbow grease to get through difficult and dense material. All the motion required is in a couple flicks of my wrists.

Overall Experience-
I'm glad I got rid of my cheap 3 piece and spoiled my self with a 2 piece space case. My vaporizing sessions have become a lot more enjoyable, because the vapor quality is a substantially better. Also I'm finding myself using less because of how well it grinds,I'm making the best out of less.It takes me back to why i purchased a vaporizer, to enjoy the taste and flavors of my material.I highly suggest a 2 piece space case to anyone looking for a cutting edge grinder that will provide more coarse grinding.

Thanks Gratefulbuys for throwing such an awesome contest :peace:

My review for spacecase.

Has anyone dealt with vaporizers.net before? They have free shipping on all purchases, and intriguing prices on the volcano and space case grinders ($8 and $16 respectively). The only reason I haven't ordered yet is that there isn't a button to add the volcano grinder to my cart

There has never been an option at that site to add the grinder to your cart. They never answered my inquiries.

Man, what a shame. Do any other US retailers offer the Volcano grinder? Vape World is sold out at the moment, apparently Storz and Bickel is having trouble getting the grinder through customs :/

Vitolo, I just realized that a link you posted earlier is what led me to vaporizers.net. Its funny to think of us both staring at the product page, searching in vain for the elusive "Add to Cart" button

Removing the 'buy now' button is easier than changing 'in stock' to 'out of stock'. And that $16 SC price caught my eye too, but it isn't a good one (vs using an FC discount code at other dealers), since you don't get free shipping on grinders alone. Shipping adds $8.

max,
WOOHOO! Received my ti small 2 pc. space case from Puffitup! I call it the Oreo. They threw in a lighter and some hempwick because i mentioned FC. Perfect grind for lb. So satisfied. <3 Space Case and Puffitup.

Ordering the $16 Space Case from vaporizers.net may not be a good deal, but vapeworld has a low price guarantee. Just send them an email mentioning the vaporizers.net price and they will match it. Thank god for the free market

Aqua,
Been using my Quick grinder for some years now,i've got a backup that's still unused, the old one is still going strong.
Love it,good quality heavy duty grinder.
The pushbuttons are great,it will collect some kief in time.
I know it's time for some collecting(BHO-bound usually :)),when there's a few millimeters of space between the halves beginning to show, while closing it .
Bit pricey it is though, but giving how much use i've had of it already,no regrets here. ;)

Just wanted to say that I picked up a medium sized Titanium Space Case 2 piece grinder the other day. I was told by some peeps in the shop to put it in the freezer before grinding and for cleaning. Well I tried it and it works. Seems like nothing wants to stick to that finish, especially when its frozen. Give it a try and see what you think.

Edit/Update: I have had time to try the grinder many times now both frozen and room temp and it definitely works better for me frozen. Easy peasy lemon squeezey . . . :)

I've had my 6cm 4 piece SpaceCase for nearly 7 years. I do a complete iso clean every 6 months. Of course I put 18 ozs or more of buds though it in 6 months, regularly. Works as good today as the day I bought it.

When preparing my MFLB kit for a three-day camping trip, this worked great for processing a bunch of herb in a hurry: Proctor-Silex E160B Coffee Grinder (Just pulse it to where you like it.)

I run a PD daily and for that I've found my favorite grinder is the Cosmic large 2-piece (2-11/16 in dia). Tight tooth clearance (but doesn't seem as tight as the small Cosmic). Large enough to lay out enough herb for an evening (for me, solo).

Some other brief grinder reviews:

Small Cosmic 2-piece: tightest tooth clearance of my grinders (very good grind, good enough for MFLB); poor ergonomics--cramps my hand. 1-9/16 in dia

Blissville MFLB freebee (as of six months ago): surprisingly useful for a small grinder; nylon washer wants to fall off; good ergonomics for a small grinder. 1-1/4 in dia

Large "Titanium" Space Case 4-piece: I only used this a little. I can see the attraction of "pollen" but the grind wasn't what I was needing for vaping. 3-7/16 in dia

Medium "Titanium" Space Case 2-piece: a good grind for rolling; oddly balanced--the lower half is a real slug of aluminum. 2-7/16 in dia

Edit: Oh, and the stainless Vic Firth STS06SM01 "Pump & Grind" Salt Mill from amazon. It does work for small batches for the MFLB but the process seemed too fussy to me.

Edit2: Added quotes for Titanium. Seems to be all marketing, I guess. Titanium nitride would be a very cool coating but we're not getting that here.

Edit3: I decided I like magnets, they lend a centered "bearing" feel to the grinding action (or maybe I'm imagining). My medium SC was ordered without the magnet and it just seems to be missing something, even though it never leaves the room.

I got a 5 dollar acrylic grinder with my VG about a month ago, it sucks (which is probably to be expected with a plastic grinder) so I got an aluminium one with my MFLB the other day for about 15 bucks and it seems infinitely better, has the magnet/nylon gasket. Takes me quite a while to actually grind the weed to the level I want it though, even if it's already chopped pretty fine before I grind it.

I didn't know the thing in the middle of mine was the nylon gasket till I read this thread, I wasn't sure if it was meant to be kept on or not, I tried it with and without it as I wasn't getting great results with it on at first, but I kinda regret taking it off as I know why it's there now.

There were some tiny specks of aluminium in my grinded weed after I finished yesterday, I definitely won't be smoking the stuff but does anyone know if its harmful to vape weed with little specks of aluminium in it..? I'll probably still vape it even if someone says it is haha but I hope it isn't seriously hazardous

I should have read this yesterday so I would have known what the nylon gasket is for haha, I thought it might have just been some plastic thing that it shipped with that you're meant to take off or something...

Bipola,
I don't know man, I'd toss the herbal to be honest. You're inhaling that stuff. In my mind it's not the fear that you're heating the aluminum to a certain temp, it's that the aluminum is physically migrating to your lungs regardless of whether it's being smoked or vaporized. Maybe if you crammed your VG innards just -full- of cotton or something like that so that it had no possible way to make it to your mouth... But just toss it.

If a little aluminum-y herb is the worst thing that happened to you today, then it's a good day.

The 2 piece grinder on puffitup.com is high quality, grinds fine enough for the MFLB, can handle 2+ g's at a time and is like 8 with shipping if you use the forum discount: http://www.puffitup.com/product-p/puffitup2partgrinder.htm I'd recommend it. I also use a great, cheesy, cheap Chinese electric grinder which has served me magnificently for over a year now - I use basically no other grinder, and no other grinder can get it as fine. It delivers a coffee-grinder like grind without having an oversized cup you have to scrap and scrap to reclaim.

Edit: ah, here we go. This site has it overpriced by 10-15 bucks, but hunt around. I LOVE this grinder.
grinder-electric-herb.jpg

The motor still runs like a champ - the plastic cup however has started to feel somewhat brittle and I fear it may split in twain one of these days. But yeah, I love how it takes a menial task and turns it into a fun one, and how the thing never seizes up from all the gunk and resin like conventional grinders do. It'd also be great for people with weak or compromised hands, something I'll seriously have to deal with in time given my family history. If this grinder were to die, I would almost certainly get another identical one.

Better safe than sorry when it comes to your health. Having lost mine I realize now what a gift it was. Do yourself a favor and get a nice grinder. You will not regret it. I just took the plunge myself, med. Ti Space Case 2 Pc, and am very pleased. I use it frozen which is easier on my hands and keeps it clean.

Edit: I do not use a MFLB so I may not require as fine a grind as others here. Just a few twists back and forth is all I do really then tap out into a ceramic dish.

does your sc have a magnet in the lid? i was just wondering if it bothered you either way? also, i think you may have mistyped how much you put through your grinder - 18oz's? that's more than 1lb!!!!! i would hope you would need to clean it way more often than every six months if you were putting that much stuff through it. the kief screen would be constantly plugged, otherwise!

My SC doesn't have the magnetized lid, but I wish it did.

Yep, average 3 ounces a month. The screen doesn't get that clogged in 6 months. I let it go a year once and the screen was about 40% clogged. The results of the iso wash is usually VERY good.

I grind 100+ grams a month for vaporization.
The gaskets can be and should be put back on you grinders if they are off (Bipola)
Everyone has different tastes.
I use Space case for everything, but I put already ground weed in the OEM Mini MFLB grinder for use with the MFLB.
I use the 2 piece Space Case for most grinds.
I do use the 4 piece Space Case ( and 4 piece mini scout) for certain very crystal filled weeds for it's first grind, to collect kief.. then I move on from there to the next grinder.
Iso bath day is about every 90 days, and is always a treat!
