I thought I would add this quote as it's relevant to my on going situation.
Well folks, I am all wrapped up with the testing and I have come to a surprising conclusion (when based upon my original expectations)
First of all, I am going to get the Volcano out of the way, but before doing so I have to say I have found a new found respect for all three of these vapes they truly are the ROLLS ROYCE, LAMBORGHINI/ (or insert sports car of choice,) and LEXUS of the vaping world,
so I got to salute them for that.What I found out about the Volcano is that with a clean bag and good grade (buds), then this machine is IMPECCABLE!
The Volcano can do wispy and it certainly can do clouds! Crank it up to 230C and (with the high grade_ that gives you the milky bag, with which you just can't go wrong. In fact I would say that the Volcano is above reproach, as it is a bench-mark against which others are measured, (a bit like Skunk#1 or Northern Lights#5 back in the day when they first went big!) The Volcano is an immortal, period! When used correctly/intuitively, this appliance becomes an instrument of whatever you want, delightful medication, right through to the lung bursting - throat rubbing smash, of which only the heavyweights are capable of delivering!The truth is, the quality of the Volcano simply cannot be ignored, and I'm taking into account that I don't really like the bag thing - all the noise, etc, but quality always floats to the top.
So my verdict is; Vapexhale EVO/Volcano, which are totally different but each of these two are a unique force when it comes to delivering the goods. Closely following behind them and a complete revelation, is the Arizer EQ (when coupled to the Hydratube) The EQ is a technically loaded vape that is very good across the range whilst not punching quite as hard as the other two, but still an extremely great vaporizer, without a shadow of a doubt
The Vapexhale EVO has certainly demonstrated to me why it is in the big league and sits up at the front of the class (along-side the Volcano,) I am very impressed with vapor output of the EVO, but I am not that impressed with the amount of heat that is generated at the top of the appliance, especially at higher temps, even with the heat sleeve on! I have ordered some silicone wrist-bands to wrap round the top to address this issue! But all said and done, a great Vaporizer!
There is no winner here, as it comes down to preference and technique!
Indeed the real winner is me, who is blessed to be able to spend a weekend immersing myself in such enjoyable work
My only advice with the Arizer - is to get an hydratube, as it certainly puts the EQ into the Big League! The Volcano has an adapter that can be used to hook up the bag to a water tool, but if that's the case, then just spring for the EVO, if its the Bag that you prefer, then say no more

The reason why I prefer the EVO is because of it's ease of pairing with other glass. I can get some more intense vapor from the EVO as well but as others have stated the Volcano can produce some real nice vapor as well.
I loved with the Volcano how I was never worried about breaking any part of it, or the unit itself having any issues. The few years I had a Volcano Classic I never had a single issue with it performing. A truly dependable and reliable unit.
My OG Ticker ended up kicking the bucket, so I got the EVO and had to send that in to get fixed within the first year of having it because it wouldn't heat up anymore. Just the other day my EVO did the blink red three times thing

Once VXL can work out some of their kinks I can see them being just as much of a iconic staple in vaporizers. For that price point you shouldn't have to be worried if your unit will heat up properly when you turn it on the next time. Otherwise the EVO covers all of my wants and needs in a vaporizer perfectly!

I ordered the cloud evo today. I hope that I wont regret it. I'm not sure if it is going to worth with my SG by simply inverting it. I ordered a male to male adapter and the concentrate start kit anyway. But I would really prefer to just turn the thing upside down and use it.
So does anyone regret buying this vape? Am I going to regret buying this vape? Currently I use the crafty as my primary vape and the battery life kills me. I've owned the dabbler, firewood, mflb, and others but never a desktop vape.
Also, have you guys found it necessary to buy more herb baskets or do the two that come included suffice?

You won't be able to invert it using the concentrate nail.... and you can make do with 2 baskets, though I have more and I'm glad because I'm lazy with cleaning.

@No-Wrinkle I seem to be buying elb's (herb baskets) regularly as my evo bamboo is tight and the tops tear of way to quick. They last longer in my cloud+

How often do you need to clean the baskets? I would assume just a quick ISO bath would clean them?
It's up to personal preference, but I clean mine after about 8 bowls or so. YMMV.
I dump them in iso and leave 'em for days, but I'm sure a "quick" bath would probably be sufficient.

No-Wrinkle I by no means regret purchasing my EVO. Ever since I got my first vape in 2008 which was a SSV with a water cooler (little water pipe attachment they had back in the day), I knew that there could be a better vapor experience.
I loved how the SSV water cooler filled with ice would give such a smooth experience, but I hated dealing with the tubing to connect it. The little cooler was constantly getting knocked over while it was attached to the tubing, and that always made me afraid to pair the SSV up with my other glass pieces.
It was never a big deal for me to be conscious of the strength and speed of my draw while using the SSV to get desirable hits, but most everyone I knew hated that they had to think about how they were hitting the vaporizer.
After owning the SSV and having some vaping experience under my belt I knew exactly what I wanted out of a vaporizer:
1) Easily and safely able to be used with all glass pieces
2) Provide thick tasty clean vapor
3) Easy to use for all, especially no need for draw speed awareness
I ended up getting a Volcano in hopes that it would be the perfect vaporizer. Trying a Volcano in Amsterdam is what got me into vaporizing in the first place because of how amazing the taste and smoothness of the experience was. The Volcano being a forced air vape eliminated the difficulties of vaping that my friends did not enjoy. However, it still was a pain to utilize the Volcano with my glass collection.
When I came across this site, and the development of the Cloud I was so excited. Was it true? Was there a vaporizer being developed that was meant to do everything I had been wishing, hoping, and looking for all those years? Yes, it was, and yes did it achieve everything I was looking for, and the EVO has only continued in fine tuning those needs.
I love the fact that with the vaporizer I can invert it onto a 24" tube with a 100mm (maybe 110mm hard to remember) bore and milk it up no problem with my EVO, or I can put a quartz nail in it and a hydra tube on tube for amazingly delicious dabs!!
Everyone is amazed when they try it. I always hear "It's just like smoking a bong, but... BETTER!!!"
Are there the occasional issue with the unit. In my experience yes there is, but is it enough to make me regret my purchase, NO! No matter what make, model, or price point vehicle I've boughten new I've eventually had an issue or two where it's had to go to the mechanic. The EVO is a complex vaporizer with some intense tech to it so I don't find it too shocking that there are issues with it. I'm sure that's why the Volcano is a lot more reliable long term; simply because it doesn't have as much going on internally (I think anyway, I'm not engineer).
Whenever an issue has come up the VapeXhale Support team has always been incredibly professional and helpful. I think it's just nature to get bummed when something you love is in trouble and has to be fixed and out of use for a moment. The fact that the EVO is so great just exasperates that bummness, so it may come across as people regretting their purchase.
Sorry for such a long response to answer your regret question, now to your other points!
As Alan Partridge stated if you want to use the SG for concentrate then you'll have to use the starter kit. However, if you just want to use flower you will have no problem milking up your SG by inverting the EVO with it!! I actually prefer mating my EVO up with my glass pieces that have an 18mm female joint.
I don't always get to use my EVO anymore, so I basically just go off of taste and look. Whenever I start to notice a little bit of a spent taste when I'm taking my first rip with a newly packed ELB then I know it's time to give an ISO clean. You can notice too when the inside of your ELB starts to get covered with small ABV particles. As others have said, there isn't a right or wrong time to clean your ELBs. It all comes down to what keeps you happy and satisfied!

This might be hard to see, but can anyone see this crescent line that I've outlined?
Does that look like a normal line from blowing the two pieces together or is it a hairline or internal fracture?

That's a pretty rough weld but from the picture I don't see any cracking. Nothing immediately dangerous but I'd take good care of that sidecar armMine is out for delivery right now

As someone who was using the Mighty as my main driver before getting the Evo...you won't regret it.
The convenience of a cordless unit with so much power is great, but once you get the Evo, crank that thing up to around 1:30-2:00, leave it for 10 min, pack half an ELB. The first rip will have you so instantly toasty, you'll scoff at the mere idea of any "portable" being effective.

I start with a long ISO soak and then a test tube brush to get the stubborn bits off. Sometimes takes a couple of soaks. I'll add a PBW soak if that's not enough. I actually have never torched mine.

Thanks! I gave one a short soak to no avail, but i've had one soaking since yesterday with some salt. I agitate it when i remember to, and it looks like some of the nasty black caked-on shit is starting to come loose.
