Can someone confirm the Eds stem is 18mm?
I am am kinda thinking I might pair with an adapter to use my L- shaped 14mm Sheldon Black mouthpiece.

No, it is a protrusion that is used to rubber band the mouthpieces to Sheldon Black bubblers (no clips on their pieces).

I just think I am going to like the ergonomics of this angle more than the standard hook.

I thought the same before using the j-hook offered by Sticks.

After using it for just under 2 months, and experimenting with all of my other mouthpiece's and stems, the j-hook is my favorite in terms of cooling the vapor. IME the more bends and change in direction of the mouthpiece the more cooling effect the glass has.

I also like the way it is angled down as it directs the vapor under my tongue, which is the way I hit all my vapes, to help add moisture. For me the ergonomics are just right.

What I would like is a carb. I like to lift and clear every hit, not a fan of stale vapor. It wants to get hung up on the Wong after the wood has heated occasionally. A carbed j-hook might be nice.

I also have been using a hemp filter in the j-hook, keeps it cleaner longer, and I think it acts a bit like a heat sink which helps cool the vapor. It also makes a nice reclaim treat at bedtime!

Going on two months and all my other vapes are still waiting for the honeymoon to be over! Love my MiniVap!

Put a little bit of the butter on the wong and it will lube just enough for removing the j hook to clear. It also helps if you just set the gong on without pushing hard. The wood will expand after you hit it, making it harder to take off. I like to use the butter, set the jhook on top gently for a couple pulls while the wood expands. After that it is easy to remove it after hits for clearing.

Unlike lot of peoples here I enjoy my MV the better dry with the short plastic mp, using purple or green setting.

Still one of my favourite vape (teflon core)

Just love it in the green unfortunately vapefiend isn't selling the minivap anymore because of the problems with the units past and present, you guys found many problems with the unit in general? Keep seeing them pop up on eBay and feel like dusting off my wallet (for once) and grabbing a pre owned unit, pity there isn't a green one online right now just a gold version, can't change the coloured shell can you, would be cool if possible.

To be honest Bio my E-nano put Herbie on a shelf over a year ago.
IMO the TC MiniVap is not only in a league of its own, it's created a new category for me when it comes to flavor.

Not sure about the GC but with the TC, I can stick my finger in the bowl and not feel much heat, on high directly after a session. I think this is part of the magic?
The TC keeps the herb nice and cool until you draw the heat through, giving up pure tasty convection hits.

Yes sir @stickstones, I use that same technique with butter to also keep wong well conditioned. I don't have issues unless I'm sharing, for a group setting a carbed j-hook will be nice.

Edit: Green is a sexy beast!

My anticipation grows. One more sinus surgery Thursday and hope to make the jump on Minivap following recovery.

One thing I have not really inquired about: How would you all describe the draw resistance? Does it pull effortlessly or is it a sipper?

I've only tried the MV once (quickly), and I can tell you IME it is definitely not "effortless". IMO, effortless is LSV/SSV/DBV/EVO kind of airflow which is "zero resistence" in my mind. The MV is no Solo, but it's also not wide open. I'm fairly sensitive to a decent airflow, so i'm hoping to try out the MV again under different conditions (such as packing the bowl lightly, etc.).

Apparently, the airflow of this vape is completely contingent on how it's packed.

Doesn't it depend really much on the core you are using? Sipping is IMO not possible at all with the TCMV (at least with visible vapor). It takes a good pull and quite a large amount of hot air to get nice clouds from convection only.

Not sure how you came up with that data but my Mighty felt a heck of alot easier to draw from than the MV. I also don't notice the Plenty having 3 times the airflow of it either.

FWIW, I tried the teflon core.

I have that data from the manufacturers themselves, for S&B units it can easily be found on their homepage. Hermes claimed to have a laminar air flow at max 16l/min.
I did some calculation on the MV myself with the dimensions of the heater and air path I have and after my findings it could be even possible to draw 20l/min from it. Sadly I have no information about how restrictive the mesh around the temperature sensor is, so you could ask Hermes for more information about this.

I own both units, Mighty and MV. The MV has definitely less draw restriction but needs a much longer draw to produce nice vapor.
For sipping or "mouth pulling" the mighty is way better. Overall, even if the draw is more restricted on the Mighty, it's "easier", takes "less effort" and a shorter draw to produce clouds. Just imo. Does this make sense? :hmm:

I just grabbed my MV and Evo and hit them side by side with no load in them and they felt very similar in restriction, so it's all up to you how tight you pack it. If you're getting draw resistance from the MV then you are probably packing it too tightly.

As to clouds, I know all our experiences can be different, but I have not noticed thicker clouds based on draw speed. I get very satisfying hits whether I hit it slowly or huff on it, in a bubbler or dry...it can keep up. It may be because I don't hit it immediately after it comes to temp on lower settings. I like to turn it on to red from a cold start and then back it down to cooler temps and wait for it to settle. With this method I get really good, tasty and satisfying clouds from the get go.
