When do you think the first Grasshoppers (in BOXES!) will ship?

I backed on dec. 9 2013. Got bumped from july to september. THE WEIRD THING though is that I added a second hopper to my order in feb 2015, and THAT one still says estimated ship date is August.
Is it because they're obligated to ship pre-orders but not backers?
Probably clerical error. I backed dec 11 2013 and added a Ti this year. Both items updated to September.

My guess is that there is no rhyme or reason to the current shipping order process - they are scrambling to assemble and ship as best they can.

I am in for a blue Ti unit with a shipping date of September and would rather wait another month or two if this would absolutely guarantee a perfect unit that has been carefully inspected prior to it being shipped.

You can have the best product in the world and best customer service but QC will make or break a company. It will relieve the stress on customer service, i.e., chasing after the horses after the barn door has already been left open and also open up the market to more customers (riders in this analogy) since people will be less afraid of saddling up and being bucked off an untrained horse (i.e., a grasshopper with seized/hot back end, faulty heating unit or vise marks from assembly).

I think everyone wants this product to be a huge success (who wouldn't) but are a little afraid to purchase it until not only the working units have received glowing reviews (which they have) but also when it has been demonstrated that the QC issues have have dealt with and almost everyone is also speaking highly of the product in terms of low failure rates and not having received units that should have never been sent out in the first place if a good QC program were in place.

I was seriously considering a purchase of 2 Ti units which would have been a bit of a hit on the credit card but decided to hold off because of some of what I've read. If it was just a matter of HL being slow in releasing units without QC issues then I probably would have sprang for two at the outset and been content to wait. But the reports of the QC issues do create some concern which along with the big hit on the card is why I held myself back to one......which is probably a good thing for now as it allowed me to also get in on the most recent Mighty Massdrop which definitely wouldn't have been possible if I had went with two Hoppers.

All that being said.......I can't wait to get my hands on my blue Ti Hopper and am probably going to grab a large enough inner diameter piece of silicone tubing to fit over the mouthpiece completely and either (1) have the tubing extend past the steel tip completely by about an inch or two......or (2) run a short whip the length of an arm sleeve from the tip and that way be able to keep it rigged inside my jacket and be able to just reach in with my right hand to click it on and then a few seconds later be able to raise the palm of my left hand up to my mouth and take a draw.

In cold weather your breath will be clouding up in the cold air anyways so this would only add to the stealth aspect and this will also help keep the Hopper in the right operating temperature range too.

It occurs to me that my original backer order is for a Ti, and my second order is an SS. Maybe that's why the my first order is scheduled later, it's a Ti and they're waiting to get all the kinks worked out before shipping more costly items.

I doubt it's accurate, they'll probably just leave us hanging on to the one more month hope. It's always right around the corner but never happens, I feel like it's going to be each month goes by and they push it back another month. I understand I need to have patience but I payed X amount for a product to be delivered two months ago. I didn't get it two months ago so I feel we should see further discounts or more free batteries and other free stuff to go with it. If the company even lives to see past this, a complimentary oils front end for everyone that supported their dream would be a nice gesture.

Like most my July Ship date has been pushed back to August.
I'm starting to notice a trend in the delayed units, colored Ti. I'm waiting on a Dark Gray and a standard SS.

So, Grasshopper Labs, you are telling me you actually aren't assembling 1000 units a week?!

Maybe my new September ship date might turn out to be the most realistic communication I've ever gotten from them. Still fucking ridiculous though....

Hahah yeah its really the false implications that are the most upsetting, like I get the engineer thing whatever, but how can they not see that is such a potentially harmful business tactic to take? Misleading plain and simple...

My ss unit's July estimate (ordered mid January with April estimate) moved to September too along with my two colored Ti units ordered in April (had May, then August estimate) so at least they'll all come together now? Eh not much of a silver lining

EDIT: yeah and on top of that, the whole order or orders thing is messed up, wtf hasn't @grokit got his confirmation yet, and he gets pushed to September while at least one pre order has an August estimate?!

There's preorders from like 3 months ago that have an estimated ship date of August, but as a backer from 2013, I'm September? Mines just SS too, so I don't think there's anything to the theory that Ti causes more of a delay.
Fuck that shit....

This is getting nuttier isn't it, I packed my grasshopper away by mistake(Its all comfy in its box), so might take a while for me to get it replaced.

Will let you all know though, I might just sell it at this point though, I am unsure, kind meh about at this point...

Are you saying they do not replace your faulty units at all?

Weren't you waiting for an answer or do I lost some pieces of your history?

agreed. my enthusiasm for this device is quickly fading with all of these shipping delays, and how theyre treating the backers.

I backed GH on Nov. 15, 2013. Got my address confirmation email yesterday. I'm tempted to get excited, but the email also states "your Grasshopper order is almost ready to ship", which I interpret as "it's still not quite ready". I'll save my excitement until I get a shipping confirmation with tracking info.

I wonder if the recent bunch of address confirmation emails that are being sent out are just a PR move to tamp down some of the negative 'press' they've been getting here and on Reddit, rather than an indication of any actual progress being made with manufacturing?

Me too. I fear that by the time I finally get this thing, I won't even want it anymore.
Yeah I got that "you're being played for a fool by a company you've helped creating taste" in my mouth and if I could I'd get a refund but I can't so all is left to do is take each update as a joke, make sure not to promote GHL in any way and just wait to be disappointed by what they end up producing...

If I know the one you're talking about then there's still plenty of glass, vapor path and chamber completely glass anyway (save for ss mesh)! Smooth and tasty pure on demand desktop power in a sexy hand held!

I am liking the entire glass mivape composition and digital temps (once they get accurate at least), though clearly it makes certain aspects tricky. Luckily there is also a manufacturer here who is always working to improve and listen

Is this some sort of sick joke Justin? ;)
dang, I figured but I was just trying to be optimistic......

Update please, what's been happening? I'm reserving judgements based on your experience.

Dec 3 SS backer moved from July to August, sounds like I jumped ahead of some November backers and even an early bird? Really, I woulda been happier w/ October, I want some clear indication they're taking time to get a handle on assembly. To have it say August at this point seems like more of the same scrambling to ship 10s of units w/ high faults. Expecting my estimate to be updated again at the end of the first week of September.

Naw, a sick joke would be something like 'Wow, I guess there were way fewer pre orders than we thought, or GH just shipped them really fast, my buddy and I just got the ones we ordered around then middle of July........and we got two free batteries and a really nice case. They look perfect and work great!"

That's a sick joke where I come from.

Or, 'they just cancelled my preorder and raised the price' or 'as soon as the backorders are cleared they're reducing the price by $25 to make a lot of sales quick'?

That's the kind of rumors that get attention........

Trapped in the Astral Planes Back from the dead
Ok I ordered in Jan. First shipping est. Was May, then they changed it to April, now It is September. so by that time I will have been in pre-order for eight months. I know many of you have been in twice as long if you were in with the indie backers Getting ready to pull the plug. Between the delays and failures I have been reading about. Is it really worth it at this point. I am highly skeptical after reading many reviews that it will be able to outperform my Daisy.:cuss::disgust::cuss: Sorry everone rant over

Edit well I guess I could look on the brightside. The SS case I ordered had a est. ship date of September, so maybe they will come together.
