I got my first Launch Box around July 2010. It was AWESOME!!! In the fall I began having an issue with the screen and the awesome peeps at customer service sent me a replacement Launch Box, no questions asked. They are super groovy! I was excited about this, but the down side was that they sent me a new "updated" model which requires the user to press the battery MUCH more firmly as you vape. I kept having heating problems because of this "improvement." Vaping is a slower process than smoking, so the amount of time you use the battery can seem tedious when the process is made to be awkward. (I had to press firmly enough so that it sort of hurt my fingers. Then I started using the palm of my hand, and that was uncomfortable, too). Using the batteries to heat my box became a concentrated effort. It wasn't something I could just do, which is especially important because I use my herbs medicinally, and there are times when I wake up at night needing relief, and I need to be able to do the whole processes quickly and easily. I don't want to wake up too much to fumble with batteries in an effort to apply very firm pressure. Basically, using the new box in the middle of the night became too difficult. Ugh. I finally gave up. Don't get me wrong, it is a cool box, but I don't think getting high should take so much effort. I hope they go back to the original model which was much quicker and easier to use.

I wanted to request a different one, but I didn't have the heart to complain a 3rd time. You know. It seemed like that would be too much. Still, I'm bummed because the first one I had was SUPER AWESOME.

All you need to do is remove the rubber pushback ring. It takes 2 seconds with a pair of needle nosed pliers.

I solve problems.... it's what I do.

Everyone has had great ideas for the additional mod - some sort of modified cleaning brush or tool that can be stored in the body of the MFLB. I was having a hard time getting a clear idea in my head of where the available places are for some minor drilling, so I made a very basic translucent model for reference. It looks like the idea of routing a groove along the top surface on the opposite side from the shallow intake run would be a possibility, with the clear cover holding the tool in place. Another option might be to drill below the small hole that the rod from the positive terminal goes through to the trench. And another option might be to go vertically in the left-front corner near the trench hole, but this would only allow for maybe a 5/8" long tool

Also, I picked up some brass tubing and rod at the hobby supply store. Not sure yet how it might be used, other than possibly creating a brush with the bristles glued into the hollow tube, making a brush that is much skinnier than any standard brush that can be bought. The biggest of those pictured is only 5/32"

Any luck NC? I have the ball catch and am dying to install it, however I'd like to place this where an on-board storage brush won't be going. Didn't know if you had new insights

Hey, willieR. Sorry, I got busy at work and didn't get back to thinking about this again until tonight. It's definitely looking like any sort of tool will have to go on the left side (as you are looking at the LB when taking a hit), and behind the circular trench. So I guess that means that your ball catch could go on either the left-front or right-front corners.

I am not sure how far the two rods that hold the trench mesh go towards the front of the LB after they pass through the trench area. They must be anchored in some sort of hole, but I can't see how long that hole would be. So the only danger when drilling your 1/4" vertical hole will be if it is too close to the trench and hits the end of the mesh-suspension rod.

Not sure if that makes any sense, but look at the models I posted and I think you'll see.

THere probably isn't a way around this but...

if there is a way to neutralize the PA getting so hot it would be great. Basically I have to stop and let the battery cool after like 3-4 hits of maybe 10-15 seconds each on 85% power.

Probably is impossible but just saying... lol

Odd, I have never had a problem with any part of my PA getting hot. Ive run it from 60-100% in long sessions and never had any heat issues.

Well I've always heard of MF recommending to pull out the battery and let it rest if it feels hotter than a cup of hot coffee so I just thought it was a natural process by the PA too. When you use normal batteries do they ever get hot?

If anyone else has the PA and needs a car adapter like myself then check this out http://www.aliexpress.com/product-f...rger-5-pcs-lot-free-shipping-wholesalers.html

I just placed an order and these should also work with my WDZ any other log vapes. Pretty cheap, I'll let you guys know how long it takes for them to get to me and if they are complete crap or not. I liked how they had the coiled cable, it seems much thicker and not as likely to break near the plug like others I have seen. The light indicator is always handy too when you're dealing with a shoddy lighter socket.

Don't the WDZ and MZ come with car adapters? I know the PD does. This is the nice thing about a 12V design-all you need is the cigarette lighter adapter.

I don't think Todd sells the car adapter, and I know you have to pay extra if you want it with your MZ. The PD is the only one that comes with the car adapter stock, I believe. Regardless hopefully these car adapters aren't complete crap and don't take a month to come in the mail

Well my PA does get warm, not hot. The batteries I have get warmer than my PA does. They actually will get hot if im not paying attention. I dont have the same thing going on when I use my PA.

Interesting... my PA definitely gets hot at the same rate, if not faster, than my batteries. So I underestimated my numbers at first lol... I'm doing hits of roughly 30-45 seconds. The battery on my PA got hotter "than a cup of hot coffee" after the 5th hit. Each hit probably had a 1-2 minute interval inbetween. Can anyone else chime in on how hot their PA gets? I'm wondering if I'm just taking abnormally long hits.... or if my PA is just overheating.

My PA works great on the first trench and only gets warm, but when I want to heavily medicate with trench after trench I find it hard because the PA gets too hot to hold. That is the main reason why I use the MFLB on the go and my Vriptech heat gun at home to heavily medicate.

LOL I haven't been coming here too much since I've been "studying" mycology. I was out looking at random vape info and I came across This. In any event it made me swell up with a little pride to know that i've contributed to the vape community.
Thank you, thank you all. I feel famous.

Hey NC. I'm not feeling good about drilling a 1/4" hole in the unit. And I'm not finding a ball / bullet catch narrower than 1/4" either...

i think how long you hit is where you and I differ, my hits are maybe 15 seconds long at the most. I take in a bunch of little hits. and usually have a bit of time in between hits, which is probably why my PA does not get beyond warm.

Hi : ) I'm new here.

I'm a vape enthousiast from the Netherlands. I own a Iolite and a MFLB.
I have been reading in here and got a lot of information from this site, so i figured, why not join in?

I do have a question to start off with ; i just recently got my MFLB, and i tried the different breathing techniques which work very well. Although, i am combusting every single time. Not a whole lot, but the lower part of the trench is usually black after i'm done. How do you guys get the milky hits without getting it t hot? :ko:

This thing surely has a lot of potential, but i want to get the best out of mine. :peace:

Does anyone know if these really have a 4200 mHa????
http://www.tenergybattery.com/index...facturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=27

find it hard to believe.

That is a 4/3AF battery. As panasonic says, they are 33% longer (hence the "4/3") but the length is immaterial. The diameter isn't, however. AF batteries are 18mm, but AA are 13.5-14.5mm.

Welcome back. Yes, you are famous now ;) and I want to thank you for your original description, because it has helped me so many times to debunk the far-too-common myth that you can't get big hits from the LB.

Hi, my name is Terry, and I am a vapaholic. After a little web search this place came up as the ideal place to hang.
I'm a legal medical patient in Maine, thus the sig. It's nice to see such a diverse group of users in the FC Forum.
My LB just arrived yesterday so I'm not very experienced with it yet. I did order the PA today however after reading the rest of this thread. I can't wait until it arrives.

Vape on!
