MiniVAP Vaporizer

I wonder if the are any da buddha owners on this thread or old users who can comment or offer their thoughts on the minivap compared to the da buddha

As the da buddha is the first and best vaporizer I own.

I also bought the davinci ascent but the hits if that compared to the da buddha are lame.

In fact I feel the da buddha is far superior than the da Vinci ascent however I am wondering if my expectations are to high for the minivap as they must have been from the ascent

It was this forum and ascent topic that convinced me to go with that, but I was left underwhelmed compared to other people's opinions.

I know, I know. Only one way to judge.

I also got this free with my minivap http://www.vapornation.com/vaporicer-cooling-system.html

Is there any point using this in the mix, or am I going to lose flavour this way.

All this reading and no medication is tough

It will have been 16 days without on the 5th, so I expect whatever I do when I get home, I will be smashed with a tolerance change.

IMO, that ice cooler is more appropriate for combusting , where the starting temp is several hundred degrees F hotter than vaping.
Vapor is dry, but not that hot so I think it's overkill. Cooling = vapor condensing out = loss of flavor and potency.

With a water piece, I just go room temp (not ice) but really prefer hot water as it cools the vapor less BUT moisturizes it a lot more and that's what really helps the most.

Silicon is permeable to a degree. Wipe, don't soak imo.
Excited to hear more thoughts from the latest members who have opted to adopt.
This makes me glad..

Also.. @Techmob

"Was thinking the minivap would be lighter without the battery and could potentially be a hands free on a bubbler of some sort"

It'd be ugly as sin but I considered this myself and the best I could come up with would be a wire cradle of sorts. It'd look kinda shitty unless done very well though even a terrible looking one would easily be functional.
It'd have to first wrap around the WT base itself in some way, finding it's way up the downdpipe section before eventually coming off in three or four rods(perhaps a piece of existing wire frame with tightly coiled wire wrapped about it's length for sturdiness) then attach a main circle support at the top and perhaps a second one for closer to the bowl part.
Silicon tubing sleeves around the wire frame or that rubbery/plastic coating you see on stuff could protect the MV and precious glass from needless scratches.. A simple hook clip of sorts could allow easy removal.
Course a glass blower could in theory take measurements of the MV and blow a sturdy ash catcher attachment that would be capable of supporting it's weight and recieve the MV with a good fit. Since its really only the flexicone contacting part that provides a sound seal the weight of a batteried MV would mean the ashcatcher type attachment wouldn't even have to be all that deep.
I mean shit Eds TNT could probably Crack out a sweet looking piece of wood with the same functionality.
Sheeeit... Alot of ideas.
One last one.. When I was first thinking about it being hands free I was considering the unit right ways up and using the Fbomb WT as this would require a smaller frame and be comparably self supporting to the bong method as the bomb is lighter than the MV.
@lazylathe already did something like this using silicone putty and it looked very functional.
Definitely the last one I swear.
Not tried it yet but in place of putty I think the sleeve from an Arizer EQ tuff cyclone bowl could be scavenged and placed on the Fbombs bottom and then stretched over the lid thereby creating a similar function.
Sorry for the ramble.. I'm a rambling man.. My brain hurts.

I'm digging taking this thing all over the house with the long whip thingy.
In Minivap language 'long whip thingy' is Flexicone+ :brow:

If you can adapt a glass straw as some of us have, you will love even more especially at Red temp.

Yep the straws sure do work a treat! I'm never sure which method I'm gonna use until right as I start the ritual.

Also was thinking one could even get a digital timer and have the power brick switch on with the MV attached at a predetermined time.. After having it on red it'll automatically ramp up to that setting, you got a decent amount of time before it drops to blue on its lonesome, and even then the internals will all be up to temp.

My initial thoughts are..this portable vaporizer is magic.although it is slightly large and chunky I would gladly sacrifice size for the performance minivap has. For starters the flavor is unbelievable. Definitely better than the Herbie. You warned me about this @lazylathe and I think it's too late!
The only size able negative I could see is the heat up time. I'm still playing with it,and I timed it for red at 5min30sec and I got a huge hit so I'm going to start inching down and see if I still can get a nice hit in lesser time. I suppose the Herbie has spoiled me on heat up time however with everything this guy does the wait is no problemo!
My current bowl setup is flexicone ,screen , then basket. I'm open to any suggestions on a setup that will require minimal cleanup. I already noticed the nipple getting dirty which my OCD doesn't like at all. I used the whip most of the time for the Herbie and it's GREAT to be using the oh so smooth water/glass combo again. Cheers to all the minivap users out there i feel like this is my new favorite thread :)
I tried using the SS screen with concentrates and it did not work well at all. Hardly any vapor even under light. I'll try some cotton in the basket later today maybe I'll get better results. The portable aspect is very important to me as I go camping, hiking, and spend much of my free time outside. After work today more testing will happen :D
Enough rambling .. Just Like @Kommyknocker I am also a rambling man.
Before I go ,does anyone have the measurements of the opening on the top of the cap that screws onto the minivap?

It would be Much appreciated!

Almost there...
@Mrmrmrmr

LOL!!
I did warn you...

About the heat up time...
I have started to turn the MV on when I get home, usually on RED as I find this heats it up nicely. Then I check e mail and get some water etc...
By this time it is solid RED and I turn it down to GREEN and wait for the LED to stop blinking.
Load a flexicone and go to town on either a WT or through my glass straw.

I will also turn it on to GREEN and then go shower before bed. Jump in and the MV is ready to medicate myself and send my wife on a crazy trip!!!
She still gets baked beyond belief on 4 small hits on the MV.
Oh to have zero tolerance all the time!!

So far I really like the efficiency. The smaller basket is a nice small load that makes me dose myself instead of taking in more than I need at once (and one basket has been more than enough for an hour or two). The bigger basket, however, left me comatose!

This may be the only vape I have ever had that has no hot exposed surfaces. There literally is nowhere on this thing to burn yourself. Maybe if I take the top off while it is on and stick my finger in the hole...

The battery seems to last forever. I wanted to nap on the couch all snuggled up with my MV (I will call her Goldy).

This really is like the ultimate log vape...similar shape, mates with glass similar to the same way the HI does, direct to wall power and variable temps. Only I used to dream of making a battery pack that would fit on the bottom of it. Sure it would be a little big, but you could go anywhere with a log vape! Well, here it is...the MV...been here all the time.

If I wanted to service the masses I could pack all my baskets at once and chain hit those bastards!

How's the vapor for you guys on Blue and Orange? My unit is a little funky in that the lowest setting starts at 195 (just below your Green) and runs hotter from there. So I am missing the lower temps and wonder how you guys like them. I'm usually a high temp vapor, so I am good, but I would like to know how the lower temps are for you guys that live down there.

The lowest temp is blue and that seems to be just a "warm up the unit" temp so I never use that.
I think the next temp is officially pink but it's like two lights shining at once/ an odd color.

I often start on pink with the basket module and the 2" hard mouthpiece for a super tastey light lemony taste that is really wonderful. I don't get a real high off this temp, it's more of a little boost/feel good but the THC is probably not vaporizing yet (or not a lot of it).
Green is where the THC action gets serious and then the red .

@Smknbud Does 12mm fit tightly over the opening on the cap? (The opening the whip goes through) any info is very appreciated.

I have the 12mm glass straw fitted with about and inch/25mm of tubing cut from my SSV whip.
That tubing is a perfect fit over the nipple of the Minivap top cover. Nice and snug with tight seal. Snug fit on the glass straw also.

Interested in these glass straws. Would these be available on dhgate at all?

Thanks

They are all over Eb*y and places like simplystraws. I got my Pyrex glass straw for $7.

It doesn't easily pop off the end attached to the cap?
It does actually. When the tube is cold it's more secure than when it gets hot and soft. It does require one to be aware, but it's so easy to pop on and off when moving about or passing that it works perfect.

After reading these last few posts I'm beginning to think mine runs hot as well @stickstones . On blue I get a ton of vapor.is there a way to test each unit to determine if it's running hot?maybe it's my heat up time because I do let minivap sit for 10-15mins before using
Edit-wow the minivap has me up there, I feel like I ate edibles :o

If you get a ton of vapor on blue (I do) you probably have one of theses new heaters. Stickstones must have one too.

I get plenty vapour on blue.. :tup:so yay! Even more so if I've allowed time for the Unit to stew. Big clouds and sooo very tasty
If I'd known this vape existed when I first changed from combustion then I would've saved myself a good chunk of money.
By this I mean I'd have not had to bother with my Arizer EQ or afterwards the Solo. Also all the extras I purchased for those(extra elbows, screens, cyclone bowls, balloons and glass) :p.. Not to mention one of every variant of PVhes and GonG adaptor.
However, that being said, if I hadn't had those I wouldn't have had the various glass pieces I used to create custom fitments for my MV ..A modular articulated straw and WT attachments that make collecting reclaim an absolute breeze.
Glad to see you on this bandwagon @stickstones and indeed preaching the delights of this superbly efficient device :haw:

Just turned the MV on and am going to give BLUE a go!!
Going to let it heat up for a while and see what i get!

@Kommyknocker I KNOW!!!
I have bought so many vapes over the years and given most away...
Had i found this vape all those years it would have also saved me a tonne of cash!!!
Anyway i think it is almost time to sell some great vapes that do not see any use anymore!!
