Discontinued Pinnacle Pro

Regarding PES, I finally decided to see what mother Google had to say about Polyethersulfone. Here is an excellent reference by some lads at Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. (http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&frm=1&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CCYQFjAA&url=http://bdml.stanford.edu/twiki/pub/Haptics/MaterialSelection/Polyethersulfone_PES.pdf&ei=PsITU53XPImHogT9xYDYDg&usg=AFQjCNGWIEmtyp_0XtYGfVOBF944LQNV2w&bvm=bv.61965928,d.cGU) about it. There are several grades of PES, but almost all start to give out at 180C (356F - glass transition temperature) and all plots stop at 200C (392F). This temperature is less than setting 2!!! I gave up my MP permanently this past week due to what I show below. The MP funnels the vape & heat to the tip. As you can see, my tip center is rounded, smooth, a bit chipped looking, but definitely not the same color it was when new.

Hi all, long time lurker, first post on this forum. Read the entire thread, you guys have really educated me, many thanks to you all!

@BarnBoy The exact same thing happened to me. The tip part that has broken is almost clear, it's clearly heat degradation.

XsUqOlc.jpg

I bought my unit from @VapeFiend in the UK, who is an official distributor and handles warranty claims too. I emailed him, and his initial response was along the lines of "I've never had a problem, and the mouthpieces are classed as consumables, and not covered under the warranty." He said he is bound by Vaporblunt's warranty policy.

I wasn't happy with this response, and pointed him here, and argued that this shouldn't happen after less than a months use. He has now very kindly agreed to send me a replacement tip when he gets the mouthpieces back in stock.

I have just ordered the ADJUST-A-BOWL E-NANO GONG, and will probably order another PONG and adapt it to take the GONG. Only then will I be satisfied with the safety of the PNP.

Eagerly awaiting Vaporblunt's solution. I hope they will offer a swap out service (PONG->GONG) for existing customers.

It's clear the problem with melting/cracking/chipping/breaking mouthpieces/PONG's is becoming more wipespread, and will only continue to do so with time. Hurry up @TherealVaporblunt , we really need you to take some action soon, before your reputation really becomes tarnished. Otherwise I really love this product, and it's enabled me to finally kick tobacco/combustion.

Fuck combustion, long live vaping!:wave:

Thanks Ratm22 that was the part I forgot about haha.

Here is what I came out with. First I found a rotary tool which I used a sand paper bit that look a bullet it worked really well to grind down the inside of my pong to slide the stem thru.

Then I just took the screen and put it over the bottom of this stem it didn't fit too snug but it will stay in place good enough.

Here is the whole thing together. I must have accidently hit the ridges that hold the pong on to the pnp while grinding it down because it doesn't stay clipped into place very well, it easily just comes off. But this didn't matter much to me because I figured this rubber band will hold it down good enough. It wasn't about looks on this one it was simply function and using things I had extra at my dispense. I put it use and it was a much smoother and cooler vapor couldn't ask for much else. I wont be able to use this with my water tool, and with that 3 inch stem it looks a bit ridiculous for a pinnacle, so there is much better glass mouth piece inventions already posted. I couldn't be happy this outcome, it was over all simple to make with the right tools and works perfect for an in house mouth piece. The best part is it will be a breeze to get the reclaim.

A further update on the GONG project:
We will be rolling this out soon, it is a modification of the original PONG with a glass insert in the center that will seal off the air path to glass only, while allowing the same attachment and sealing that the current PONG has.

This will keep hot gasses from the bullet from touching any plastic, and should eliminate any melting issues with the PONG.

Stay tuned for more!

I am going to buy a PNP from my LHS tomorrow or thursday, will I have to order this online or will this come with all PNP in the future? Should I wait?

Looks amazing.

Thank you for this amazing countermeasure.

If possible, please offer the option of having a longer stem that will allow for a long all glass air path that will allow comfortable dry hits.

I think other users would appreciate it too.

Lastly, if you do offer a long glass path option, please consider black glass, since a longer glass stem would protrude out of the pong.

This will still help keep the PNP as the "stealthiest portable vaporizer".

The problem with longer glass is you cant use the water tool, a slide out option would be great Ala ascent. just an idea

The ascent MP stem relies on the outer wall of he ascent to keep it centered.

This would be difficult on the PNP, since you'd have glass sliding on glass.

If VB offered the glass insert in different lengths then the inserts could be easily be swapped out.

I do have glass protruding out of my pong but I'm still able to get it into my water pieces:

I do take extra caution when pulling the PNP out the glass pieces but it's doable.

If VB doesn't release a longer stem option then I'll use something like this:

I posted this on the OG pinnacle thread quite a while ago, before the PRO existed. I should have copyrighted it then:cool:
Haha I've been thinking of something just like it too, tried to make the entire bottom part of it from wood, and have it just be inserted through the existing PonG, but never got past the expanding plastic around it lol

But that new GonG sure does look perfect :D

I'm holding am all glass solution with a removable o ring in my hand. I think it's the one, I'm posting video soon, I need feedback ASAP please

If this works out I will buy a pinnacle pro tomorrow! Just send me one of these mouthpieces ;)

I'll even do a thorough review (plan on doing reviews in the coming spring once it heats up where I'm at)

As far as I can tell, there should be no need for a swap of old damaged PonG for GonG. I would imagine a PonG is absolutely not re-merchandisable, and should be recycled if it is to be disposed of. Existing customers should need to just provide a serial number from the unit to confirm that they are legitimate PNP owners and to be checked off to see that they have not already redeemed their replacement GonG. Perhaps photo of damage to PonG could be sent too.

This one looks ideal stealth wise but i think the one in the video looks just as effective at alleviating everyone's issues with melting mouthpieces for the meantime, cool !

@TherealVaporblunt would it be possible to manufacture glass mouthpiece tips as the existing PES ones break due to heat degradation? There are pictures of broken mouthpiece tips on the last couple of pages.

This would be great it possible!
