And I can scratch itches and bend my arm too! My elbow area is sore as fuck, but it's awesome that I can move my whole arm now! I can do so much more, including take a shower by myself, FINALLY!

No shit . . . and they keep passing it. Now its 1st collection, then a 2nd collection, then maybe/usually another one for the poor after that? Then the Archdiocese has a need, and of course there is the hungry and the homeless to consider, fuck it never ends. Thats one reason I don't got to church any more. They have their hand so deep in your wallet its incredible not to mention the polarizing dogma for the brain . . .LOL!! I'd rather have a joint passed to me than a church collection plate!!

I always find it funny when someone latches on to that particular issue.
Do you think Churches get free electricity?
Do you think the food and clothing they provide to poor come for free?
Do you think the drug abuse, alcohol abuse, family counseling is all free to the church?
Why do people question the churches need for funds yet they will donate to other charities where the organization pockets 90% of the donations.

Does he really need a mega-mansion? Why can't he have a modest home, and use the rest of the money for the other stuff you mentioned? Like Jesus TOLD him to do.
I wonder how much of that worth went to food and clothing for the poor. Or, drug abuse, family counseling, alcohol abuse, etc. Or, how much of the collection plate went right into the pockets of the pastor of the church.

This freezing rain is starting to get dangerous. This branch just dropped in my front yard, thank goodness it didn't hit the house. Folks, if you have a large tree like this, do not skimp, pay a profession arborist to come in and thin etc. My choice to do this definitely saved me a broken house today . . .

Seriously? You are going to use Joel Osteen to condemn the entire church? That's like saying Ru Paul represents all gays. Or Al Sharpton represents all blacks.
My pastor has a phd and so does his wife. Their salary last year was 47,000 dollars. I know exactly where the funds in my church go because we as a church approve them. We have white people, black people and yellow people, gay and straight in our congregation. We have a woman pastor. We feed the hungry, help the poor and spread God's word.
So tell me? What is it that is so objectionable about that?
Lumping all within a certain group with their most extreme example is what the politicians and media do to create division and hatred.

Why can't people just donate to there selected religion instead of getting embarrassed when plate is passed around? There are some that don't pass plates, envelopes or any of that stuff and people still give. To me a plate is like bullying.
