Discontinued Inhalater XP

Volute of Vapor
I was using my new Q4 sparingly.. wanting to extend it's longevity.
I think I will make it a daily "out of home" vape... I may as well learn if it is going to last.
My INH400 went 14 months flawlessly before the USB port loosened... and it was used daily for the Post Office run. Today I will begin the usage of the XP at the same rate... and hope for a long ride!

I get mine (Q2) more than 6 monts ago, I use it dialy 1 or 2 bowls, 1 and half session per bowl but to preserve it I don't carry it, it's one of my portable at home, I like to use it the morning in the bathroom or outside in the garden but I never carry it outside (for this I prefer the FW or the TV evo or my favorite the Dabbler).

Perhaps electronic don't like too much movements, I hope that it lives like your old 004, 14 months seems pretty reasonable, 24 would be great!

My experiences with the Q4 XP, as of today after using it for travel.
I like the XP.
I found the numbers to not be accurate, however.
I get some warmth, but no vapor production at all until right on 5.
at 5 the vapor is thin and barely visible, and only lasts for a few hits.
At just a hair under 6 is where my vapor production starts.
After that the dial is very sensitive, and I can inch it up toward 7 and increase production at minute intervals.
At 6.5 the vapor is satisfactory to me, and is about like my INH400 was at 5.
The taste is good to me.
On the INH 400 however I had a myriad of lower increments I could use.. 4, and even 3
On this unit I get no light levels below 5.5
I noticed that the dial is not "dead flush" like my old unit.. but seems to be on at an angle.
perhaps this was intentional, and is part of the design, to keep the dial snug so it can not turn on in pocket easily.

DSC02929.jpg

And when turned.. to new settings, that angle retains it's same position in relationship to the unit and its USB.
If that angle is intentional, then this is good (if it were there to provide friction)
If it is not intentional, I will hope it is not an impedence.
I love now fast the XP heats up.
Much faster than INH400
It even will go from zero to level 7 directly in seconds.
That is very fast vapor.
Regardless of my comment about no lighter vapor available below 5.5, I am still liking the XPs convenience, and its speed, and thoroughness of extraction.
I would MUCH rather have this XP in my arsenal than not have an Inhalater!

Hi!

I also don't get vapors if I select the temperature below 5 , however once the unit heats up (the first switch on) I noticed that going from a high temperature to a lower temperature; for example 7 to 4, only then the vapors are no longer as condensed however their are very light fumes and a scent that is definitely noticeable meaning that it is distributing vapors, the units heats up fairly fast depending on the energy level of the battery (would love to see a digital battery reader on upcoming models)
All in all this vaporizer is a pocketable monster stealth ninja vaporizer. Like any piece of technology ; issues will or will not occur and it's then up to the customer service of Pharmacor to show it's true colors once an issue arises. So far so good! :)

Update
The XP has comfortably replaced the INH400 for morning Postal runs.
Very reliable after the week, I felt comfortable leaving my Iolite home this morning.
It is a good feeling to trust a unit to be the only vape on a drive!
The "issues" I mention are not actually issues.. they are just differences in performance between the older unit and the newer.
Not to be compared any longer, this unit will be valued for it's own merits!

sorry to hear that. its unfortunate that Pharmacor hasnt figured out how to build reliable working units consistently. i believe they will though. rough road until then however.
Not at my expense. Should have got it right by now. Won't waste my $...

Your experience is about the same as mine, although weak at lower levels on the knob its still a great daily driver if you just bump it up to where you can get vapor production.. I use mine 90% of the time over my other vapes when I am out and about.

That knob being slanted like that doesn't look right at all, probably a mishap in production.. IMO looks janky lol.

Unapproved commercial account.
Hi all,
Picked up about 8 or 10 caps to get rolling. Punctured the hell out of my ear drum to slow me down. Now I'm in line ups that you'd all hate to know exist, but thanks for the toothpick trick on the screen. I have a Q2 model, so I'll be extra careful and mindful of the plug to be sure. There
are a few ear-itations all punctured eardrums aside but I still feel strongly enough about the merits of the design to note that it's worth picking up two of these. I plan to purchase another one this year so that I have two and a couple of tins filled with caps ready to go on the side.

I'm sure the manufacturer will be happy to know that I've managed to keep philip on my ebay speed dial, so I might as well order that second stick from him.

I'm hoping to all those that have issues, that you'll enjoy what you have while you have it, myself included, and it's nice to note that they fix these things, it's comforting to know that they don't hang up on you if it breaks down. If they h'ear me. As parting note, I put my vape in a old zip up small sized leather shaver case which I apply to my b'eared, so it should be no surprise that I go the be & eared installed to let me know that me puncturing my eardrum was a few weeks later was an accidental mistake.

now if only my ear could be sent into your factory for a refurb that would be perfect. Oh well. to bad.

Being that I was one of those that had a Q2.....if I were you I'd keep it ....no question in my mind.....if you do however decide to ask for a replacement... Please give a shout out..... I would love to see if Greg would sell it to me...... IMPO the Q2 was much less in the way of hot air as both my 1st Q3 and now my latest Q4 with the Q4 being the hottest.....my Q2 had some heat yes it did but when the vapor was present and being extracted....it was a moist heat that wasn't harsh but rather tickled at times......
Now my new Q4 has got the heat but its not near as moist feeling and is rather harsh on the back of my throat.....and both my GF and I have noticed we are clearing are throats alot now when using the Q4.

If it were me..... I'd hang on to it for as long as it would last.....but I am clearly PRO Q2...... I have no idea what, why, or how but something happened and they had some how fine tuned the XP for it's absolute peak performance / taste / effect..... and now are not quite sure what made it so awesome...

Let us know if you do decide to turn it in......thx

Thanks for the reply, after reading your response I'm going to hold on to this one for now. If I do change my mind and send it in ill be sure to let you know and provide some feedback to the forum.

I don't think it's normal, but shouldn't cause an issue.
My inh004 was like that and served me very well for a long time.
Both my current xp's are pretty straight on, but wouldn't bother me if they weren't.

Yea the whole cap slanting now is a bit janky but I was glad to see it was at least cleaned up after all that port hole carving then epoxy debacle......the switch cap was changed now....the cap sleeve that snaps it into place is a wee bit taller now so the circuit board that the USB is attached to....and again in this release the USB itself is the primary mechanical stop still so the USB itself is holding the circuit board up too high on the USB side......the opposite side is driven down because of the spring load on the battery.......they changed the body as well....because when mine came and I noticed the extra lean as well as the screw nolonger being used....I tried my older switch cap and it would not fit correctly...so the bodies have also been changed........
I of course don't think it is nothing because now in addition to asking the USB port to stop the twisting action from side to side....it is now got additional constant pressure pushing down on it too..... that just can't be a good thing IMO.....
I'm going on my 3rd week of daily usage and it seems to be holding up well thus far......fingers remaining crossed.....please please don't break again pretty PLEASE......I really enjoy not smoking.....

On another note.....yea....sorry but its about those new caps without the shoulders.... you can keep them.....I have lost several loads.....my pocket got a few of them...the couch ate one as well....the problem.......they don't snap in like the older better ones with shoulders do.....I even had my lip pull one out while I was passing it.....not cool at all.......so for me.....no shoulder caps......NO thank you....
In fact my older shoulder caps won't come out unless you give them a slight turn as you pull them out...

Not going to go into much detail with this next topic.....but I seem to be reclaiming a bit more oil on the inside of both my tube and the mouth piece...... good stuff

Their QC or manufacturing is still in bad shape after all this time… I would return it immediately, my 250$ vaporizer,if it looked like this! I also wonder how this company can still be in business. Promises and bad excuses are all they do since they made the XP… :disgust: Oh yeah, and ruining the vape on the way. Why the hell did they remove that shoulder of the capsules??? My brother is waiting for a working unit for so many months now that I have lost track of time… Last two XP's that were shipped to him were shipped to the wrong address! And it happened to me in the past as well. It seems like a couple of kids are running the company. Not at all professional… Not at all sincere! I would change the name of the company and start all over from a blank page if I was in their position.

I completely agree. They keep promising to send my replacement while acting like I am keeping them from doing so somehow. Several times now they have said that they are sending me a replacement unit on a particular date - and never do so. They refuse to answer emails ever since they got the defective unit back in their hands. My unit was beyond minor defects - it was billowing smoke out of the usb port. I think any company with any sense at all wouldn't leave a customer w/ issues like this out in the cold. At this point, it is not bad customer service - it is theft.

Fortunately, I did retain a half dozen of the old style capsules.
I had a chance to trade my capsules in for new ones, by PlanetVape.. who offered
marvelous support and help, even when the issue is not theirs!
I did trade 2 old style capsules in, so I now have a couple "new type" spares..
but I will be using the shoulder types I still have with tender loving care!
About that angle of the dial....
I am not all that anxious to send it back!
It is working, and I like using it.
I will think this over and use the unit while I do.
I still feel the Inhalater (both models.. and all the "Qs") is one of the most thorough of extraction tools!

I thought both old and new cap versions would still be available.

I may be mistaken, but recall the manu posting that the new style would be cheaper than the original ones to provide a less expensive option.

I much prefer the original with shoulders for all the reasons mentioned. Since they could last me years with good maintenance, I may get a few of the original ones to tuck away just in case they aren't available later (if I can still find them). I have one new style which is my spare backup I hope to never need.

But either cap still allows for amazing extraction (providing you have a properly working unit).

I'm so Happy to be bringing in the New Year with my XP in hand...... my lungs are also very pleased as well.....I would like to wish my friends in the far north ..... Happy New Year...... I know you have all been working extremely hard to resolve all of the issues encountered as you evolve this product design.....

I'm looking forward to see what happens next from the Inhalater team in the year 2014......XP2, INH005 ?

I received a replacement from the Q3 batch when they 1st lowered the Max Temp setting.....and I now have had the most recent Q4 batch for 2 weeks and I have since enjoyed the following ;
1. The HEAT is back and I can now extract the CBNs in my final run....Yeah..!
2. The USB port is cleaned up nicely and does appear to be sturdy...
3. I have as I said stopped smoking again which means that the effect is equal to and I sometimes think maybe just a little bit better than smoking......which I am so grateful for and so hoping it will last the entire year of 2014......

Listen about those new cheaper caps.....yea..... sorry.... I've spilled enough herb already to say No thank you..... not even for the very special price of "FREE" .... they just fall out to easily.... the shoulder caps have a slight "snap in" feeling and have to be twisted to be removed from the XP..... if that was the expected way to save money by lowering the quality of the cap.....well not what I was hoping for...... I think I was hoping for some sort of mass production of the good caps was how the pricing might come down......but in practical application the herb loss has made it a HUGE No for me...

Yesterday, for the new year party, I took outside my precious Xp, I'm a little bit worry about a fall or a mistake like that but it survive!
All of my friends are big smokers, nobody knows vapping, but they was very impressed by the Xp, I ran it at 5, the better choice to get both taste, clouds and effects.
I'm trying to do "proselytism" about vaping and the Xp help me more than a big speach!

While I have commented repeatedly that I prefer the capsules with the shoulders, I have tried 3 of the new capsules for fit and size, and mine all click very cleanly in place.

I have read this thread intently over the last year. As I purchased my Solo a year ago, I really wanted this unit. I told myself..."I'll get the reliable Solo for now and when the bugs are ironed out...I'll get the XP."

A year later and I don't feel closer to buying this unit. In fact, I used the money I've saved to buy a Pax instead, which I like a lot. However, the XP, when properly working seems it would be better for my needs. I really want this unit to be successful. Here's to hoping the bugs are ironed out in 2014!
