@shredhead yep, I totally hear you. since getting my sub, my then DD (the LSV), has been out 2x I think. I just gave it to my brother in law to try out last night actually. Has the sub since june/july i think. and the sublimate (sub oil) is just lovely stuff. also not felt the need to blast any nugs since getting this thing. it's a kick ass vape that hits like a train. and it makes oil that I like better than solvent extract? (just be sure to double filter the atomizer section. fine in the bottom and whatever you like best on top. I use a coarse one) well then. game set and match.

That said, I have and evo on the way, and I plan to get a herbaliser at some point too... for for now I am the subs bitch. and I she's also the most dangerous, and painful vape i've ever owned too.

so it's not my be all to end all, but it is the current king in weedemon's house!

ps I also wish i could take it with me places! but thats too much of a pain in the ass.

Yep no nug runs ever anymore for me. Not needed. And with the UFO I know I will have no downtime from subbing. I actually use an UD screen for my bottom screen in my atomizer, it's super super fine. Same screens I use in my solo too. TIP for anyone with a solo! Torch your oil out of your solo stem slowly and no particles stay with the oil. This shit is amazing through the sub. Almost as good as sub oil. Damn that sub oil. So clear................

Hey guys, I know the answer is most likely buried somewhere in this thread, but I've read about 50 pages so far with no luck.

If I purchase the Apollo Sublimator (the ~$750 flower vaping kit), would I be able to slide the downstem into a bong?

Basically I'm asking if the full Apollo set also can be used in the "adapt a bong" style. Thanks!

Yes, but make sure that A) you get the size that fits your pipe's joint (14mm or 18mm) or have an adapter; and B) make sure your pipe is stable (bottom heavy/wide) enough, usually best if you have a vertical oriented downstem rather than an angled one - the atomizer and apollo are not light and will make your setup very tip over prone if you are not careful.

Tipping over is VERY bad because this thing gets very hot and you don't want it to fall on carpet and have burnt fibers stuck to it or worse, not to mention breaking your glass piece.

Be forewarned, this tool is not for the careless or clumsy. If you fear that's not for you, get the kit with a base launcher tube that is designed to be stable for the sub.

Thank you so much for the quick replies! I'm going to go buy one in the next hour so I appreciate you guys getting back to me so fast. From what I've seen this is a fantastic community, I'm happy to be here now :)

Thanks for the warnings Mister G. I've read the accounts of people burning themselves and their carpets, so I know I'll have to be very careful.

I'm glad to hear that the Apollo kit can be used in a bong. Now that I've confirmed this, I'm going to go ahead and buy the full Apollo kit today, and decide later whether to buy a tube or bubbler specifically for it. Thanks again everyone !

The le kit comes with a 14mm atomizer bushing, that's what size the launchtube's downstem is unless they changed it for the new version.

@SevenTen, are you getting the new black version with the removable reclaim jar?

Yea I'm not really expecting to have much difficulty with the learning curve. I'm a pretty careful person, and reading about your guys war wounds will make me extra wary.

I don't think so Grokit, when did they release that version? I don't even see it on the sublimator website. Is the reclaimer the only change? I'd love to get one with a claimer, but if that's the only difference I can just order one off PV correct?

A few weeks or so ago there was a bit of activity, where they had released a new launchtube in black with a removable jar, and then somebody had the old le kit discounted for around $500. Unfortunately even if I bookmarked that info, I don't have access to those bookmarks while I'm on the mac side of my computer.

But if you read through the thread you should be able to find this stuff. Another earlier sale had the ufo thrown in for free with the le kit. I was able to apply a serious coupon code when I bought mine at bubblebags, and there are many satisfied planet vape customers. Black friday may bring additional savings from select retailers as well.

But if you want to be able to send your sub in to the manufacturer for servicing at any point, their policy is that you have to purchase it directly from them, otherwise it has to go back to the dealer first which seems a little convoluted. So that's something to consider as well.

edit: found both le kits at this place, but they don't have the old one on sale for $500 anymore:

And here's the new launchtube setup in action:

Seems like lots of these products they are announcing are almost vaporware. Moon tools, glass sub tubes, etc. Then we get the oh next week, etc. Makes me wonder if the Ti Apollo will be released in mid-december.

My sub is maxing out at about 34 watts and have been holding out for the Ti for my RMA. Will it come then or am I just wasting my time not being able to use my Apollo to its full potential?

I also think having customers send their malfunctioned Sublimators across international borders is incredibly stupid and irresponsible on Sublimator and their retailers. Pretty much the early adopters of Sublimator have been and are getting fucked in more way then one.

While it's partially our fault for buying a product with no stated warranty, service policy, or even a user guide, I have issues regarding the founder. Because instead of working toward providing anything reassuring like the aforementioned documentation, he chooses to tour around the world making demo videos and getting as baked as humanly possible. Whatever energy he has after that is seemingly consumed with rolling out new materials to replace the old, while it's clearly the controller box that needs the most work.

And if we dare to raise an issue regarding our controller box, his first instinct is to blame any problems on misuse by the end user, who again has no instructions for using this $500+ vaporizer. I have resolved to never send mine in for service, because frankly I have no confidence in the manufacturer's willingness to fix anything at this point. I will continue to use it and if it fails, I will just torch the damn thing like it's a ufo.

It's a great concept for a vaporizer but with 1950's technology, and I hope someone more reasonable comes along and takes this idea to the next level because clearly Enrico is not up to the job. He's a great spokesman and product tester, but he's subbing a little too much if he thinks that blaming the user for using it wrong while not providing anything approaching a user guide is going to fly in the long run.

It's almost like he's planning on failure.

:peace: out.

Maybe I missed something, but I thought it was Tomii who suggested user error was at fault whilst speaking in an unofficial capacity, did Enrico also say the same?

I would estimate there around 10 failed Sublimators on the board alone. In one video Enrico claims to be selling 5 a week. How many people are there without killawatts and don't know their sub Is drawing 30 watts less then before?

Has anyone done a RMA with freshheadies/bubblebags?

When I sent my request for service email, "vapman" replied to me courteously, and even acknowledged that the timers tend to malfunction, while apologizing for the dealership-only repair policy. Then enrico chimed in a bit later in the same email saying that I should never run the timer on override, that "there is a reason there is a timer on it", which vaporized the good will that vapman had garnered earlier.

I replied that there was a reason for the override as well. Just for clarification, unless the override is employed the timer is limited to 30 minutes, which only leaves a 10 minute window to vape after heating up for 20. Maybe I should get a kitchen timer to alert me when the vape window opens, before it snaps shut!

The controller box uses an off the shelf light timer, that's why the window is so small and likely why it has so many issues. And the damn buzzing can be quite annoying. I suppose that the controller could be considered a perishable component, as it uses off the shelf parts and is filled with hot glue to prevent them from being swapped out when they go bad. That is if it wasn't hardwired to the apollo...

You'd rather complain loudly about a non issue than pay return shipping? You better not buy anything online again or else you'll might end up in the same boat.

10 malfunctioning sublimators on the whole forum? I sent 3 clouds back myself!

Until you go through the return process yourself you got nothing to worry about.

However, if enrico refuses to warranty your Apollo due to user error, I think you'd be in the right to be pissed off because (as you said) the sublimator doesn't come with instructions.

It has nothing to do with the cost of return shipping, that's a wrong assumption. And why would you say that a malfunctioning and buzzing controller box is a non-issue?

Also why would you assume that there are only 10 malfunctioning sublimators? Do you seriously believe that all of the malfunctioning units have been posted about in this thread?

As I mentioned, even sublimator has acknowledged that the controller boxes are prone to failure.

I'm not worried, as I said I have made the decision not to go through what ResinHead is:
Im in a similar situation with warrantying my sublimator, when I contacted sublimator they told me that i needed to contact the vendor, and warranty through them. I contacted Ignite Smoke Shop in vancouver months ago, and have been waiting for a reply from them since then. Ive contaced them several times and ive been told that they are still waiting for the manufacturers response. I think that the device is awesome, but the lack of customer service and the fact that these devices are starting to die within less than a year of minor usage is very discouraging.

All international shipments are open to inspection, so that fact coupled with the reality that the controller box can't be separated from the apollo heating unit is quite discouraging when shipping from the US.

Another thing that a service policy like sublimator's does is it destroys resale value. I have to send it in to the dealer for service, warranty or not because if they don't sell it sublimator.ca wants nothing to do with it, directly. And of course the dealer isn't going to be motivated to deal with it either since the secondhand owner is not their customer. So used subs are basically unserviceable unless the dealer decides to help or sublimator.ca changes their policy. I would love to be informed otherwise, if this is not the case.

Your complaining about the return policy is what I consider a non issue - I assumed your complaining about it because you don't want to pay for return shipping.

Sublimators service policy is the same as any other product manufacturer.
Think about this;
My Tv died. - I didn't send it back to Japan where it was manufactured to get the warranty, I had to return it to the store where I bought it from.

And of course the dealer isn't going to be motivated to deal with it either since the secondhand owner is not their customer.

The secondhand owner is NOT their customer! Your mad that they don't want to spend money to help out someone they have no incentive to?

The Vxc crew will not warranty secondhand clouds either.

I wasn't talking about warranty service and never mentioned the word, except to say that the sublimator has no policy in writing. I'm talking about the ability to get a second-hand sub serviced at all.

And your tv analogy is just silly; most if not all of of the retailers are in canada just like sublimator is, and there are no potential federal criminal penalties for shipping used televisions internationally.

Also regarding that analogy, if you need your television or ipod serviced (under warranty or not), would you send it back to amazon.com a few months after you purchased it? Of course not, you have 30 days and after that it goes to the manufacturer or an authorized service facility.

Have any retailers been designated as such for the sublimator? That would be useful information!

still looking forward to the International version and advised improvements (unclear which, probably TI and so such)

Isn't it just great that Enrico was able to get to produce these after some years of creational process...
otherwise we wouldn't have them or wait for them to become available  :2c: :peace:

interesting developments on this thread. I just wanted to say that I have an old dimmer switch style adapt a bong, and I do not have a killawatt meter. the day I got my sub, I marked the dial off as to where my sweet spot is, and I have never looked back. I have never noticed a drop in temp that I haven't been able to explain because of seasonal changes. (my ssv and LSV needed to be dialed up hotter in the fall and winter) and even then, we are talking about the width of the mark my sharpie made on the dimmer switch to get it back to temp.

sorry to hear that you guys with the more fancy box are not getting the same reliability. and I do recall the enrico comment about blaming the user. I agree if you don't have documentation then how is that your fault.

I challenge you or anyone else to find just one single instance of someone being charged for shipping a used vapourizer across an international border. Just one is all I ask. In fact, I'd be satisfied if you could find a single case where one was intercepted. If you can't, then just drop the whole customs bogeyman issue, because literally thousands of used vapourizers have been shipped across borders.

Also wtf is he talking about not warranting second hand subs? Meaning you bought one from a friend? Well duh lol. But if your talking about buying one from PV then you most certainly are their customer. Why wouldn't you be? Just because you have to go through sublimator directly dor warranty service? That doesn't mean that PV didn't make a profit off you as well, which makes you their customer and sublimators customer. It's just that PV didn't make the thing.
